I was so blessed that I was able to attend this race. It brought back so many memories of your college and high school years. You did great and I am extremely proud of you. ❤
Aren’t you breaking just about every safety rule there is for female joggers. You are running by yourself on a mostly deserted wooded trail without lights and sometimes in the twilight hours wearing very little clothes making it easy to ID you as a thin woman even from a distance. You stated that you occasionally run into shady looking people on the trail that make you feel uncomfortable. They could be homeless and/or deranged. What about the people hiding amongst the trees & bushes just a few feet away from the trail that you don’t see or even notice? Hopefully you have some means of defense if attacked like a weapon or pepper spray that was not apparent in any of your other videos, but even these defenses might not stop a determined and much stronger attacker. You read about female joggers being ambushed and assaulted all of the time and even murdered. Sadly there are a lot of psychopaths roaming around in today’s world and one should never underestimate the human capacity for violence. Do what you love, but do it as safely as possible.
Thank you for the concern. My husband rides his bike near me during weekly long runs on the trail, and I practice situational awareness at all times. It’s important to not live in fear but to be empowered to do what I want. Most of my runs are on my work grounds now that I have wellness time I can use during the workweek.
Hope you recover quickly!
