Thanks mate. You were the first person to let me know. I would have found out if I had looked in my inbox as Charlie wrote to let me know. I also would have found out when I went to watch their new clip. Happy you told me as it gave me something to go hunting for and I love hunting. Beers!
Cheers for laid back lesson on the kontiki raft construction Clay, enjoyed the mellow tunes, native bush and the bird song. The evening scene on the tranquil beach with the camp fire, colourful dish of fresh food and the company of your daughter (absolute quality time together) stirred some pleasant memories, and a longing to make some more of them. There is something magical about sitting by a camp fire with vast views of nature in the cool evening with a few close friends. Good to see you again to Dayla, though not so fine to see you looking like you've got a wee touch of the blues, hope you find your vibrancy soon. Hold onto it when you do, its key to living your dreams ;-) Merry Christmas and festivities everyone.
+stu pot we spend a lot of time at the beach. My girl is fine. Just often when she is in deep thought it gets misconstrued as sad. You have an awesome Xmas too bro.
Thanks for another great outdoors lesson Clay. Cooking and eating outdoors is always fun. I did it a lot when I as much younger, you have inspired me to do it more often. Best wishes.
Good one clay, nothing better than a fire on the beach and fresh fish.bloody beaut, easy as and something you the kids could sit down and do over the Christmas holidays. If you get an old fence reel and put the line on that, makes it easier to wine in. Cheers mate have a great Christmas and thanks for all the clips this year , stay safe, laugh and enjoy..
Bro' the birdsong...things some take for granted, trust me, well you know.. NZ is ultra -special. Take what you need for a feed. Pity not everyone lives by such ethics. Cheers for the fine entertainment you create for the rest of us lost Kiwi's overseas. Kia Kaha.
I hear you loud and clear. I lived and worked overseas for 13 years bro. I missed NZ every single day. In the end I gave up a well-paid career as an entertainer to come home because I was having these dreams every night of our beautiful country. NZ is so deeply ingrained into my heart I don't think I could ever live away from home again.
That is amazing you can make something like that nice work mate always coming up with cool ideas keep it up I'm always learning new stuff from you I've taught my brother and dad a lot of stuff I've learned from you
Thanks bro. These sound tracks I composed for my reggae/rub band 'Concious Fusion' . They are actualll songs but I lift lift the vocals off them and use them for my movie sound tracks. They kind of keep this crusiy
looks like some good fishing there! it's been shit for fishing here in Hawaii.. weather wise! we don't really have " the 4 seasons " but it's been a very wet few weeks now. anyways I enjoyed this video ! thanks for your dedication and all you do always fun to watch. Merry Christmas!
I am really pleased with how it is holding it's edge. Its a great craft knife and good for a hundred other uses. You made a top knife there thanks mate. Love it.
Is this the forerunner of kite fishing.....this Kontiki raft fishing looks like more fun/rewarding, being from the US still trying to figure out all the NEW ZEALAND LINGO....great videos Clay
Great video Clay I must give this a nudge with my kids they are always keen on your clips great ideas and awesome food skills nice 👍 and a merry Christmas too you and your family and all your friends have an awesome one🍺🍺🍺cheers
great video clay great little project can you do some more videos on your pack raft thing? like maby a full set up video just to show it from start to finish?
good to see how to fillet them Dog fish mate.will be keeping the next ones I get. I noticed you don't cut the finns off or bleed em. are you able to do a clip on filleting sharks mate.awesome keep up the good work.
I don't eat spiny dogfish mate. These are grey sharks. Taste similar to eating rig. I will have clip coming up in the next 4 weeks where we get caught in a bit if a sea. I think that clip has us filleting sharks in it for ya.
Is there anything you cant do mate 😂 another awesome vid.Im actually flying out to NZ on the second of Jan for a month.Looking forward to the food ✌ Stay safe Clay.
I always look forward to Tuesdays and your next video! Great clip as always... If you don't mind me asking, what type of sharks are they that you catch? They seem to be quite plentiful!
All the soundtracks to this clip is from my reggae band 'Conscious Fusion. Quite different to my hunting CDS and quite different to my slide blues. Stay tuned as I will be releasing this music with different artists on it later this year. I will also be releasing this as a soundtrack just as you hear it with no vocals etc.
Do you know "big rock candy mountains" by mcclintock ? It seems to me that he wrote that song for new zealand. You should cover that song by the way. would fit perfektly. that shark looked good
+M-Sparx yep. Hooked into a good size stingray just yesterday morning. It pulled the raft around and around for a good half hour until it tired it self out. Made a hell of a mess of the line.
Hey mate! do you wanna share the tabs form the song at 19:45 ? Anyway you are awsome! love your vids! merry christmas and happy new year from north Norway!
Anything that will blow out to sea mate. A rubbish bag filled with air and a good tight knot will do the job. Or a big chunk of polystyrene . So long as you have a good off shore breeze.
Clay Tall Stories Tried the balloon kontiki with my daughter out in the wind in Elaine bay this afternoon ... fish for dinner :) Congrats on your reward you're a natural entertainer.
You can have mine of ya want mate. It's now in two pieces. The brand is Knifekut and I won't be buying another one after my last one literally falling apart with the blade snapping at the hilt when I tapped it on the chopping board. I recommend Victorinox boning knives. It's what all our butchers use and they are cheap as bro.
Clay Tall Stories do u reckon my 12 cm boning knife will stick pigs it is a victory one that I just got and was planing to stick most of the pigs we catch with it
Yeah but I would recommend you get a decent stick knife with full hilt. If you hit the boars ribs and slide your fingers down your blade while gripping it your hand will be good for sweet fuck all for many years to come.
TH-cams most underrated channel by far ❤✌🏻🏴
Should be a super like button bro! That was mean! Build, catch, cook then munch! Who needs expensive gear when nature provides! Cheers!!!

Beautiful work mate. Lovely to see you cooking on the beach with a open fire, a simple but nutritious meal.
Fieldsports Channel Britain TH-cam channel of the year ,congrats Clay Tall Stories

Thanks mate. You were the first person to let me know. I would have found out if I had looked in my inbox as Charlie wrote to let me know. I also would have found out when I went to watch their new clip. Happy you told me as it gave me something to go hunting for and I love hunting. Beers!

Thanks Junior T
Thanks for another great outdoors lesson Clay. Cooking and eating outdoors is always fun. I did it a lot when I as much younger, you have inspired me to do it more often. Best wishes.
If I can inspire people to enjoy more of what is around them on the sea and land then I have succeeded with this channel. Thanks Zane.
@@ClayTallStories Is it normal, that the sound interrupts at 25:57 ? Exactly when the testrun is performed.

Heya clay I would recommend a 20 backbone between the kontiki to the hooks so the ways it's down by the snapper and not up by the sharks
Is this the forerunner of kite fishing.....this Kontiki raft fishing looks like more fun/rewarding, being from the US still trying to figure out all the NEW ZEALAND LINGO....great videos Clay

Hey have you ever rigged one using a barley sugar that is set to dissolve and drop the sail and your sinker
Many times Rose. It is how I learned to do it growing up.
Ever considered a woodgas stove?
Lots on youtube, but most don't have effective air control which is the key.
yeah bro. I have built my own. It works a treat. I must do a video on it sometime. Don't know why I have not actually.
I always look forward to Tuesdays and your next video!

Anything that will blow out to sea mate. A rubbish bag filled with air and a good tight knot will do the job. Or a big chunk of polystyrene . So long as you have a good off shore breeze.
Clay Tall Stories Tried the balloon kontiki with my daughter out in the wind in Elaine bay this afternoon ... fish for dinner :) Congrats on your reward you're a natural entertainer.

hey clay I've seen ur yellow handle boning knife in other pig hunting vids just wondering what brand and model is it
You can have mine of ya want mate. It's now in two pieces. my spelling is crap
why are you wearing a jacket and shorts at the same time?
Shorts because I was wading out into the waves up to my balls to launch the raft and a jacket because it was a cold southerly wind blowing.
