    I had to use this drug for a year because of a drug induced psychosis and it was the worst year of my life because i became zombie like and I had to deal with the breakup of my ex at the same time.
    I’m so happy I’m over this now and back to my old creative and happy me !

      Yeah I'm one of the unlucky ones with this drug and it was scary! Extreme sleepiness (14 hrs sleep and still tired) along with the worst tachycardia I've experienced( my heart rate doubled to a resting 120). I'm glad I stopped it though my doctor was super aggro about it.

    this medication has turned my once vibrant funny and outgoing daughter into a recluse in a zombie like state. she barely seeks she stares into space and moves in slow motion. while sh no longer has manic hyper episodes she is now on the opposite end of the spectrum . i must say its a bit unnerving seeing this hallowed version of my daughter but i do my best to support her. i love y adult daughter and want the best care for her.

    Thank you for making these videos! They're very helpful to me.
    I'm watching these videos trying to emotionally prepare myself for the idea of taking medications. The music underlaying this video, with the minor key and EDM beat, feels haunting to me. This is counter-intuitive for me, since I want to become more relaxed about needing help. In the future, if the background music could all be happy or calming, that would be great! No pressure.

    Already 3 of my friends took their lives because of the states psych meds developed their conditions into. The middle friend, who said he was just curious, getting his first hospitalization referral, almost burnt down his entire apartment building, intentionally, with even lithium in that cocktail of his! I stopped taking this garbage in time, and remained alive (though I had always been a non-compliant patient, with the side effects worse, than the schizophrenia itself).

    I see a lot of people had bad experiences with invega. however invega sustena saved my life. I have schizoaffective disorder and would be in and out of hospital without this medication. The difference is mind boggling... I feel like the reason for bad experiences come down to irresponsible use of the drug. This REALLY isnt for depression or even for anything else than schizophrenia.

      I agree with your comment! This drug was the best one out of the 3 or 4 that I tried. I felt like I was actually myself, no brain fog or heaviness! The reason I'm on TH-cam researching is because I've been on this drug for exactly 10 years and I'm wondering how safe it is long term. Do you know anything about that? I tried to go off of my med in 2018 but it was terrifying...I just wonder if it would balance out or if I'm permanently "schizoaffective". Thanks!

      Hi thank you so much for commenting! I know that in comparisons to other antipsychotics Invega is one of the most safe medications long term. There is a lower risk of akathisia (or restlessnesss). Also, of other comorbid conditions like metabolic syndrome. I highly suggest you stay on this medication over any other antipsychotic. I remember taking that medication at a young age. I hated it. I had abnormal eye movements and and rapid heart beating. My eyes were literally stuck in the ceiling and all my doctor did was increase the dose. Every time my mom kept making me take it she would get mad when my eyes are stuck up my skull. I also had a hard time sleeping because my fucking eyes won't close because of the increased dose. It was frustrating.

    My son was just injected with a 1 month shot even though he has akathisia, constipation with some blood in his stools, agitation, and sexual dysfunction after just 1 week on the week injection. Does this make sense that they injected him for another month with these side effects? Hopefully, there will be no more side effects.

    • @LevelheadedMind
      @LevelheadedMind  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Discuss this with your provider. It may be that he reacted to the loading dose and as it tapers off in the body those effects will diminish. If not, be your son's advocate and speak up!

      @@LevelheadedMind I am trying to be his advocate, but they went ahead and injected him even though I was trying to tell the nurses about the effects of the meds and that they have to change meds but they went ahead anyways. So is it normal for a loading dose to have these effects in the beginning and diminish afterwards? They put him on Congentin and a few other meds now. the less meds the better in my opinion cause now he has more meds to taper off of. this sucks!
