The house Walking through the narrow passages in the old city of Damascus,
you will see the close-knit houses huddled together. Hidden behind its doors is an architectural masterpiece. A small dark entrance with minimal decorations will gently lead you into the light. Into the beautiful residential courtyard, the heart of this home.
The fountain “Al Bahra”
Once in the courtyard, the smell of the flowers will overwhelm you.
It is a flask of perfume. Can you imagine what it must be like to experience such a place?
This Damascene home represents a perfume bottle infused with the aromas of flowers and basil. In the centre of the courtyard, you will find a small marble fountain called “Al Bahra”.

سوريا العريقة في عمق التاريخ.. سوريا تاريخ حضاري يمتد ل 12 الف سنة... سوريا موطن الحضارات في عمق التاريخ موطن المعمار والفنون والعلوم والأدب والحِرف والصناعات والتجارة من عمق عمق التاريخ... سوريا ام روما والأندلس ❤️❤️..

Is this the bait al wali hotel in bab al touma? I stayed there a few months ago. The old houses in old Damascus were one of the highlights of my trip!!! Beautiful and relaxing places

Is it easy to go there now?

Divane not easy, but possible. Visa is max 15 days and costs around $70-120 depending on your passport. I’ve read 30% chance to get it when you hold US passport (which I don’t). You also need a tour guide with you, which means you have to buy their services. Which includes transportation to and from Beirut, hotels, breakfast and transportation between cities in Syria. And a guide of course 😉.

Divane yeah, I think where your passport is from matters for the security clearance that agency needs to get for you. And then you get visa on the border (from my understanding). I think UE passports are the best. And for US - Politics and foreign relations 🤷‍♀️
Also, if you have an Israeli passport stamp you won’t be allowed in Syria (and few other countries in the Middle East).
Going to Syria right now, it’s like the biggest moral conflict I have, because I feel like people who live in Syria want tourists back, but people who left don’t - for them this kind of trip is political, tourists showing their support to regime and war... and my heart is just pure, no political agenda, no insta fame, I just can’t wait to see Syria.
