It seems to me there is literally no major difference except this account is geared towards new CIMB customer and its shariah compliant, plus it has a different profit rate due to the Islamic compliance with the account, but overall not much of a difference

Sorry for the late reply! From my experience of using the app, you can only use 1 account at a time - might need to log in and out if you wanna switch accounts. But you can double check this with CIMB if there are any better ways! 😊

Hi there, yes, i think you need the debit card to activate the account before you can open CIMB SG to link it. Regardless of the steps, you will need to perform linkage from your CIMB SG account to your activated CIMB MY account, else you can't be verified through the eKYC

Hi James, I believe you should be able to, but you might have to specify the mailing address of the debit card. Regardless, you can always send it to your hometown and activate your card from anywhere as long as you have a picture of the debit card number and activation instructions.

Hi Allison, it could take 2-3 business days before it would reflect in your bank account, you can always contact CIMB to check on it (if you have a reference number)
This bank notorious for many critical issues. Hence why Many don't like it. Any other bank that can use for investing app? Or have they improved already that they can be trusted. People I know personally had their funds went missing and CIMB say they can't do anything. That's my concern for now. The security, reliability and cust service.
It's one of Malaysia's largest bank, and the only bank in malaysia that allows full account opening online, the other banks require walk-in which may not be that convenient for many during this MCO. Totally understand your point regarding their security, I'm not affiliated with them so I won't try to defend them anyway haha, it's PIDM insured up to RM 250k for a reason thou - anyways it's Malaysia so i rest my case 😂 My experience so far is good - I could be the lucky fews whom never encountered any issues.

Hi there, according to the FAQ: "The minimum initial deposit transferred must be from your own bank account in your sole name with another financial institution in Malaysia i.e. a first-party fund transfer. CIMB may reject your application and/or close your account if the minimum initial deposit is not pursuant to a first party fund transfer." Unless your friend has a MYR bank account - I don't think you are able to use online FPX from foreign bank accounts. Hi James, I believe you should be able to, but you might have to specify the mailing address of the debit card. Regardless, you can always send it to your hometown and activate your card from anywhere as long as you have a picture of the debit card number and activation instructions.

CIMB click only can log in when receive the card, but how they know we have receive it or not? Because keep error message during log in.
Probably because they will only send out the cards upon activation of account from their side, so i guess can only just wait for it

Hi Boon Sin, by right you should be able to register right after application, i get different answers from different people, try calling cimb malaysia to help with it? (My friend said can only complete cimb clicks registration after you got the debit card)

Hi Allison, it could take 2-3 business days before it would reflect in your bank account, you can always contact CIMB to check on it (if you have a reference number)

This bank notorious for many critical issues. Hence why Many don't like it. Any other bank that can use for investing app? Or have they improved already that they can be trusted. People I know personally had their funds went missing and CIMB say they can't do anything. That's my concern for now. The security, reliability and cust service.
It's one of Malaysia's largest bank, and the only bank in malaysia that allows full account opening online, the other banks require walk-in which may not be that convenient for many during this MCO. Totally understand your point regarding their security, I'm not affiliated with them so I won't try to defend them anyway haha, it's PIDM insured up to RM 250k for a reason thou - anyways it's Malaysia so i rest my case 😂
My experience so far is good - I could be the lucky fews whom never encountered any issues.

Hi Edmund, yes this is a savings account. As far as I know, I don’t think they offer a fully-online current account product yet

Hi there, according to the FAQ:
"The minimum initial deposit transferred must be from your own bank account in your sole name with another financial institution in Malaysia i.e. a first-party fund transfer. CIMB may reject your application and/or close your account if the minimum initial deposit is not pursuant to a first party fund transfer."
Unless your friend has a MYR bank account - I don't think you are able to use online FPX from foreign bank accounts.
