I'm in my 40's with basically no EDM production skills - I'm so going to use this video as my starting point & challenge myself. Grew up loving this stuff & want to make it for fun. Thanks man, you've absolutely nailed the sound!
where u from??????
You're the first person i've seen on youtube who emulated the sound and energy of the 90's, well done as there are so many topics going on about the lost soul of 90's deephouse/house.
Cheers from a guy who was a teen househead in the late 80's
Ditto! I worked in the Ministry of Sound in 92-93, this woulda sounded right in place. Who knew that saturation was what my drums were missing! Cheers fella!
@@danceablesolutions yeah, containment and proper mixing that doesnt make the music feel artificial. especially considering a lot of electronic music altogether was made either with music trackers or physical machines back in the day rather than a vst
This might be the best house tutorial I have ever seen. Close to life-changing. Please never delete it! THANK YOU 🙏🏼
GIV THIS MAN A RECORD DEAL NOW!!!!!! Love it
This is really well executed!! Love how it sounds!
What a cool beat! I love bass sound. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
As always a great track and a great tutorial.
You guys really know how to capture the spirit of the 90's house.
Excellent work mate!
Love this sound!
Sounds great! It legitimately sounds like something that came out from the 90s!
Thanks! I'm glad you think so, goes to show you can do it without hardware if you know the right techniques
@@EDMProd Definitely!
only thing different is that the mix sounds new
This guy just made me subscribe
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is exactly what I was looking for! Would love to see more 90s based tuts in the future
Great to hear! I might just do that, we shall see :)
Amazing video dude, will do my best to apply this knowledge to my projects. Sadly my DAW is just not the same, but I will do my best to figure something out
this video is beautiful thanks bro
One of the best music tutorial i ve seen. Keep it up mate!
Appreciate that a lot! Some properrr old school huh
this is so good thank you
this is insane! subbed
Awesome tutorial!!!
Very good video mate , been searching for a tutorial on how to get that sound on my drums . Thanks !
Glad I could help! Yeah such a nice warm drum tone huh, that analog sounding kick tone + saturation is key
This is sick af!
Sounds really great, thanks so much mate! 🔥
Maybe you could make a Lo-Fi House tutorial like DJ Seinfeld, Ross from Friends, Paperkraft etc.
Would be awesome! 🙂🙏
massive tut
killed this mate
Nice bro I love it
Super gut !!!
Excellent powerful house
Awesome tutorial! I thought this was a some early 90s house track!
Trying my best to channel that early 90s vibe at least! Thanks 🙏
Holy crap that is a very cool track
Ayyy thanks so much!
Very close to british House Music understanding...
Nice job!!!!
You can use ableton groove templates on your midi tracks to create swing without having to manually shift every other 16th note 👍🏻
what is this, instantly subscribed
OMG LOV U
WOW❤️
I didn't know the LFO Tool's split trick! I guess it pays to read the entire manual!
i really didnt expect to find a tutorial this helpful on this type of house music on youtube
most are garbage tbh
Glad I could be of service! The old school house sound lives on
niceeeeeeeeeee
Thanks mate this video has helped me heaps. Can anyone suggest an equivalent saturator vst or hardware pedal that sounds as crunchy as this ableton plug? I’m on cubase. I don’t mind either a plug or hardware option. I’ve heard the strymon deco 2, but only on TH-cam. I’ll got check one out in person, but it didn’t seem to have the same sound character as ableton’s saturator.
Thanks
This part is so catchy l!!! 21:39-21:58
I know I’m late but is possible to hear the finish product like on soundcloud or Apple Music? I would love to hear the whole thing! Great video!
Handsome boy makes slappin house
Hi, could you pleas tell me the full vocal name, or the name of the pack? I really like the vocals. Great video, keep it up
Excellent! I'm looking for 90s classics shout vox samples: Hey yoo! Huu! Aieea! Cmon! Tekno! etc. Any option to get these samples? thanks to all!
Alright my man do you think I’ll be able to come close to anything this saucy using garage band?
Hi may I ask what analog drum machine are you using for the sample pack? Sounds really good!
I used the Electron Analog Rytm, but you could probably achieve a similar sound on most drum machines + lots of saturation
awesome tutorial. download form for sample packs doesn't work though :/
Can you drop a link to that sample magic vocal pack, please?
Wish there was a tutorial like this for fl studio
hey man didnt get the email through with sample pack. Nice video tho killa stuff
Hey mate, mind checking your junk in case? Otherwise hit up our support at support@edmprod.com :)
Hi is the samples still available? Thanks can't find the pack
That's incredible! Do you know where to find or maybe how to create these incredible "old school chords" (beside the ones in your free download (thanks for that by the way!))
All have mine have come from a bit of everywhere, lots of Old School House sample packs around nowadays. Korg M1 and Rhodes are also a great place to start too. Maybe even worth doing some research into which retro synthesisers you like the sound of and trying to find some packs or kontact libraries of those :)
Get rave generator its a free romp you will find everything you want there

Good idea :) Just added a link to download it in the description!

Did anyone end up making this track?
Download is not working :(
The email sign up to sample download is not working, no download link received via email
The email might take a few minutes to reach you, can you check your inbox again?
@@EDMProd I got it ,thank you. Great file!
"different shapes and sizes"
90s house music would be so good if they were redone today with more crisp sounds like today’s house
There is lots of it around! Check out DJ Steaw
@@EDMProd Thanks, they’re great!!
No they would not as us old ravers, All worked with analog and the hardwear was / is half the sound, Today everything is too clean and polished like Dj mixes nowadays everything as to be so polished and shinny !
@@OGGalleryCrew92 I mean that background static in all old songs
Sounds like it came from a daw
Do you know that this 90’s track is released now? Please let me know
Bass pattern is 100% DJ Steaw
Agreeed! But also DJ Steaw is still re-inventing that 90s house sound in a modern context. Check out the rhythmic similarity to something like this th-cam.com/video/WhRlAbJvVDc/w-d-xo.html
Bizarre inc - I'm gonna Get You Baby Style
Thanks for the video. Decent tutorial, but this sounds nothing like 90s House. Not if you were actually there, DJing or producing it. Sorry dude. I was there. This ain't it. Listen to some people like MAW, Kerri Chandler, 95 North, George Morel, Strictly Rhythm, Mentalinstrum, early Todd Edwards (before he was crap), early KOT (before they were crap), Soulfuric, Todd Terry (before he was crap). You have captured some of the sounds, but not the nuances, not the soul. I would pick this out against any 90s track and know it was made in a modern DAW with modern sequencing and plugins. This is the same issue with Disclosure. They try to emulate it, but it sounds so sterile. They weren't there. They didn't take the drugs. Schoolboys. Nice try though.
Exactly bro. The beats are not 90s. There's no swing, no soul, no grit, no SP1200, no MPC3000. It's modern DAW music trying to be 90s.
Where do i go/ search for to find real 90s house music? I try to search on Google but i could find any on there
The beauty is all the music was recorded onto plastic so you didn't have to be there
@@somemothersson4184 listening to a piece of plastic is not like being there lol. The irony in your comment 😂
@@beatsandsamples mix new with old i own old hardware and new stuff
I would have bought this record in a heartbeat
