Love it guys! Did you do a fishing set up video? I cant recall, I will have to go look and see what yall run.. rapala self diving lure right? And buddy you are really conveying the reality we should all step outside our comfort zone and yall are a constant motivator for me :) And the very end.. disco is one cool dog ;)
Unfortunately we don't t a fishing setup video, but anytime we were underway in Mexico we had the rapala self diver in and usually a squid like thing. Glad we can provide some motivation- always appreciate your comments 😃
...there are big fish in Mexican waters...last year some friends and I chartered a boat and captain for some mahi fishing off Barra de Navidad...no mahi, but did hook a 200kg (guess by capt.) black marlin...we had no idea what to do with that monster and were a bit relieved when it broke the line.
@steveburke7675 our guess was that the fish in this episode was a marlin. Wouldn't be much of a fisherman if you didn't have a few "fish that got away" stories. Only thing to do is keep on fishing!!! Thanks for watching and your comment.
So I've only fished on a power boat, but wouldn't you do the same kind of thing, as in stop the power (bring in the sails), ,& in this case turn the boat back towards the fish? Enjoy watching your adventures.....
Normally we would have reduced speed, but since we had the spinnaker up we couldn't react fast enough to drop our speed.... everyone has that "fish that got away" story- we were lucky enough to get it on camera! Thanks for watching!
Take the sails down right away. Reverse gear, and back up to the fish, probably a marlin. You could have at least had a look at it that way. Plus you'd get to keep your line. No fun being spooled.
Amazing episode love your channel
That fish was a giant!
I crossed from Cabo to Mazatlan a few years back and it was glassy calm. Had to motor the whole way.
Holy moly, that fish was outta there. Thanks for another great episode! Cheers!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed!
Fanstastic episode!!
Thanks so much! Lots more to come!

Thanks again for another great episode. How does Disco handle the rough seas?
Like a champ! We are so lucky she's so steadfast.
I lost track of you guys. Thought you were buying a power boat. Good idea heading back in. Really wanted to see that fish. 😢
We did buy a trawler in Washington. This footage is from several years ago. No one wanted to see that fish more than us! 😁

Heading up to Maz. How was the Stone island anchorage? I heard theft is a huge problem there.
@keeldragger we did not have any problems there, but we didn't like the anchorage... I would recommend anchoring in the harbor or going to a marina.
What a fish, maybe next time you could slack the sails or turn up into the wind.Great episode as always 👍👍
Next time we'll be ready to reel in a monster! Thanks for watching!

Definitely wish we had done things differently... next time!!
