My heart is so broken over the “American church”. I can only speak from my view and what I have witnessed. I have attended a dozen churches the last few years partly because we moved to another state. Before I even step through the doors I can give you an order of the “events” on each Sunday morning at each church. For example : announcements, tithe, “worship” and sermon. I put worship in quotes because if you stand in back and observe virtually everyone is singing the songs because that is what you are supposed to do. It just seems like they are not remembering that they are singing about their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (hopefully anyway), or to their Heavenly Father with the filling of the Holy Spirit. This breaks my heart. And then as soon as the service is over everyone scatters back home because they got that off their checklist for another week. Ask them an hour after and virtually no one remembers a sermon. Pastors are worshipped. Gross. I have not been able to find a prayer group where people actually pray, not about their own wants and needs but praying for our lost neighbors and friends out there. Then there are small groups that rely too heavily on a book instead of the word of God! And videos. And then again 5 minutes of prayer thrown at the end before everyone goes home.
Sorry this is sounding very negative. I believe that God is starting to shake the American church. ⛪️. This excites me. Only God knows what this will look like. I do not believe this church of today is what is best for his children. Where is the Ekklesia? The true one anothering, the everyone is just as important in the group, not a hierarchy of pastors and elders and other leaders. It is not supposed to be this way! We are supposed to learn from each other and love each other and share in one another’s lives. Thank you for listening. I don’t expect a response. I have reached out to others and I get ignored. lol. I continue to pray for the Ekklesia for America!

Thank you for your comment! I'm sorry you've had such a difficult time finding a church family, that can be so frustrating. I think you hit the nail on the head with "they got that off their checklist for another week." Whatever our gatherings look like, whatever order, etc. the difference is why we are there and why we are doing it. If we see it as something for us to just get a little God in our week, feel like better people, or get some kind of spiritual high, we're missing the whole point. But if we are gathering to be part of a community of Jesus-Followers and to create a place for those who are exploring and seeking and who are being drawn by God then we are becoming more and more of the true Ekklesia.

Can you join with me for a private bible study. I am from India saved by Grace 14 years ago from a Hindu family. I have stopped going to church here since it's more americanized in here. Please reply. I am looking for genuine brothers and sisters in Christ.

I think TH-cam "heard" my thoughts about Churches and suggested this video to me.
We are homeless now, but we have been faithful to our old Church, even though we couldn't go there anymore, we kept sending our tithes.
When my husband got Covid in 2020, they told me to look for a Church closer to where we're staying. It hurts, but I kept being faithful to that Church because I thought they're the only Church out there preaching from the Bible. And I didn't have a lot of mobility to go look for another one.
Now the old pastor retired, (he was away for quite some time)..the new one and the worship team act like they want to be TH-camrs. I can't stand to even watch it anymore, all the screaming and showing off.. I fail to see real worshipping and it has been hurting my Sundays.
During the week I try to dedicate the morning hours to listen to messages from the old pastor and study the Bible, but on Sundays, I really wanted to do it with the Church, but because it's difficult to find a place to shower or at least get somewhat clean early, I try to watch online, but it's so frustrating... I ended up going to the app and listening to old messages again (they're never really old, are they??)
      Thanks for this video.
      Sorry for the rant!
