I watched the show Severance on Apple TV, and it was an absolute masterpiece. I think I would pick up the book as well. "This is How You Lose the Time War" was so beautiful; you should prioritise it!
I'm so pleased to hear that you enjoyed This is How You Lose the Time War. I will definitely prioritise it now. Great to hear how much you enjoyed the TV show adaptation of Severance ☺
Having been an optician, now retired, I couldn't help but notice that you're still wearing the glasses you got over 3 years ago. So apparently your eyesight hasn't changed enough for you to need a new prescription in your glasses. So that's a good thing of course. I can see by looking at, and thru, your glasses that your a bit "shortsighted" as it's called across the pond. Here we call it "nearsightedness" But whichever it means the same thing. Things at a distance is somewhat blurry without your glasses. You actually wear your glasses fulltime. Do you mind me at what age you were when you got your first glasses? Do you recall ho you felt about getting that first pair of glasses and how you felt wearing them for the first time in front of your friends and family? As an optician I heard many stories from those getting their first glasses about how scared the were about wearing their glasses in public for the first time. Have you had your eyes checked anytime over the past 3 years to see if you need your prescription changed or are you just pushing it off since you feel like your glasses are serving you fine? I don't mean to lecture you but even if your seeing just fine with your glasses you still really should be getting your eyes checked at least every other year. More recently optometrists are even suggesting that anyone that spends more than 40 hours a week staring at screens should be getting yearly eye exams. By screens that includes not only your computer but also your phone as well as your TV.
Your commitment to book buying is so admirable 🤣
Pretty much everything here aren't books on my radar, it's why I find your content so fun!
In awe of your commitment to the book buying ban - you're doing so incredibly well!

I'll be interested in your thoughts for Salt Slow, I found it a mixed short story collection, though I did enjoy Mantis
Oh, that's interesting. I wonder if Mantis will be my favourite story out of the collection too ☺
