Since when did mountain quit warranting these I have warranted quite a few over the past 8 years from all my dealers and especially since originally I bought ez red versions and Cornwell swapped over to mountain before Cornwell came with there own version
I still have somewhere the original version here in the states was sk but that was around 10-12 years ago before they filed bankruptcy

Man, I feel that comment about “afraid to break it”
I have a couple thousand dollars worth of Cornwell stuff in my box I just let sit there , cause I bought it all off eBay , because I’m afraid to break it 😂
And…. I don’t think we have Cornwell trucks near Cincinnati, because I’ve literally never seen one in 15 years 😂

The 3/8 drive uses a 17mm backing buy a gearwrench xl 17mm flex head wrench.....the astro nano 1/2 drive uses a 22mm backing but the gear wrench xl 22mm flex head wrench and the harbor freight pass thru socket set uses a 19mm backing buy the gearwrench xl 19mm flex head wrench....the pass thru sockets are like owning a infinite deep socket set....

Northern tool sells those same ratchet wrench tools, like the Mountain brand you showed early in the video. Of course it's labeled KLUTCH, for Northern Tool's name brand. However, they sell them individually, not in sets. I bought one at a local Northern tool store that's a 13mm on one side and 15mm on the other. Love that tool, and I also work in a heavy truck International/Navistar dealership. I haven't broken it yet. From what I understand they carry a lifetime warranty. So when I do eventually break it. I should be able to return it to my local Northern Tool and get it replaced. We will see how that turns out. If you have a local Northern tool store near you CP, check it out and let me know what think.

But the monster brand has stood the test of time. I have used every size even the x large 21 22 24 25 ones and haven't broken one yet. Had them 4 years using daily professionally daily all sizes and the spline drive hasn't even worn down. I was iffy at first but they have been life savers. Top 10 grab first tool for sure. Just thought I would put that out there. Have not checked prices recently. But have paid for themselves plenty.

Also your reviews are a great reference for guys like me. Jump on the truck for the first time of my life for their new 3 positions slip joint needle nose pliers and I got the 9” needle nose pliers as you suggested they have way less flex than the Knipex which I was also looking at. Keep it up my man it gives us a chance to know what we are getting into when buying! Cheers from up north!

Cool. I just picked up the long handle 17mm wrench. Also, you can use a 3/8 Ernst twist lock clip to hold the 3/8 nano sockets onto any 17mm box end. Another way is to use a low profile 1/4 to 3/8 adapter to retain the sockets. I've been using them with my Tekton extra long double box end wrench (17x19mm). Finally, on a 3/8 m12 stubby impact they make for a nice, compact setup.

You’ve been at this a long time CP, how many times have you seen a mechanic go down the parts trail because they got a P2195. After replacing the O2 sensor, cleaning injectors (maybe even replace them), and fuel filter, they stumbled upon the leaking intake manifold, or the shorted wire they should have check for to begin with.

I do like the Astro CP but you have to understand, I am an idiot. I will back myself into a corner. I made a decision a few years ago to never own ratcheting wrenches that don't reverse. It is like insurance for idiots.
I am now looking at the Williams flex head reversible, they are the ones branded by Blue Point. Really nice, especially the six point.
Love the channel CP and that is a great recommendation, especially for the 17mm and above sizes.

The brand of mine is Platinum. Used on eBay years ago for I want to say 100$. Identical to mountain.

What's this have to do with the astro nano wrench besides your selfish comment?

@@CPthetooladdict nah man I’m just throwing another brand out there that makes the same product…. I’m hoping your being sarcastic but I can’t tell. I did just picked up the nanos last week(not the ratchet as I didn’t know anything about it until this video) along with that Cal-Van C Clamp press you just highlighted. I’m pretty stoked to receive them.

Husky has identical low profile impact sockets. I got them months ago and they've been very hand in the full time small engine work. They've even got the recess in them for the retainer clip. Looks like I know what my next ratchet will be.

@@CPthetooladdict I'm well aware and was not trying to imply that Astro is copying Husky. I'm saying Husky has an identical set of sockets that looks like they will work with the Astro ratchet.

Mountain SHOULDNT warranty them! Keep the prices low and eliminate the “Warranty people” who can and will abuse anything! All companies should do this !

I can see his point! When people in these forum do nothing but talk about warranties, I immediately know they are tool abusers. Those Mountain wrenches are so long that it would be so easy to tear those gears out of them because of the tremendous leverage a heavy handed person could put on them. Why not break it if I can get a free replacement?
