going up a carpeted spiral staircase cluttered with dark indigo and shiny maroon robes holding a candle and a sack of precious stones, passing through a floor of endless rows of dusty bookshelves and beautiful tapestries, hitting windchimes as you pass through narrow corridors of mirrors, looking through an archaic telescope at distant constellations in a deep purple sky
Last year I listened to this in full in the Chartres gothic cathedral in France. I was seated the whole time and slowly scanning throughout the interior. This fit the scene so magically well. Love this one.
Genie Head Gas In The Tower Of Dreams (Jesters Midnight Toys) IN SECTIONS: ------ PART 1: In the Outer Body Palace in the Tower of Dreams in Ribbon and Light the Jester Awakes ------ 0:00 (Section 1) ------ PART 2: Sunfestival / Tower of Dreams / Jesters Midnight Lamp ------ 0:41 (Section 2) 4:30 (Section 3) 13:09 (Section 4) 14:34 (Section 5) 25:45 (Section 6) 28:19 (Section 7) 33:03 (Section 8) 33:43 (Section 9) ------ PART 3: Jesters Dream Turbine / Life Flash in the Genie's Starsign Palace / Wind of the Jesters Lamp / Spring of Healers ------ 35:25 (Section 10) 42:47 (Section 11) 43:23 (Section 12) 44:11 (Section 13) 52:54 (Section 14) ------ PART 4: Spirit Maze / Sun Card ------ 1:02:33 (Section 15) 1:06:34 (Section 16) 1:08:49 (Section 17) ------ PART 5: Midnight Toys ------ 1:16:54 (Section 18) 1:17:49 (Section 19)
This perfectly (m)aligns with my early childhood memories of being simultaneously fascinated and afraid of the shoddy preliminary CGI previews that would play before my favorite shovelware VHS tapes
Always wish that first part in first minute was longer. James sometimes will make a real cozy section not very long and it keeps me wanting more. Not a bad thing
"the thick of it" iss such a great way 2 describe it,,. itslike the album puts u in trance w/ longer drone sections& then once yr use 2 the way it sounds it becomes liek a buffet of crasy musical ideas ,,. it rly does feel exacly like hypnagogia
A mind warping phantasmagoria of acid visions and astral beings. A mischievous swirling presence splitting your consciousness throughout infinite planes of existence.
yup !!!!! all that precedes it feels like its for buildup& immersion ,. this music is so mindbending that you need 2 get aclimated just 2 begin 2 understand it

Section 5 my beloved
king
pure magic
This perfectly (m)aligns with my early childhood memories of being simultaneously fascinated and afraid of the shoddy preliminary CGI previews that would play before my favorite shovelware VHS tapes
This album snells like the anesthesia at the hospital and those tubes of plastic balloons
Always wish that first part in first minute was longer. James sometimes will make a real cozy section not very long and it keeps me wanting more. Not a bad thing
part 3 is the thick of it. 40:00 is literally hypnagogia. The perfect stage between conscious and unconscious. James was locked in for this one.
kaboom
A little later at 47:00 is equally hynoptic with a completely different sound
I cried during this part thank you so much for marking it.

For me, it’s 52:54 that is the transcending moment of part three. I can agree with the third part in general being the thick of it.
This experience is so intense and overwhelming I always put it off for later but I will finish this right now
sounds from the salvia dimension
I'm more of a fan of the more mutant stuff by Ferraro but musically this is just insanely impressive. Insane.
this album feels like youre trapped in the scenery from the I Spy books
A mind warping phantasmagoria of acid visions and astral beings. A mischievous swirling presence splitting your consciousness throughout infinite planes of existence.
tru that!
the excerpt that turns up at the 1 minute mark is absolutely brilliant.
perhaps one of his best
easily in my top 5
o, good taste! what are the four others?
his discog is fuckin huge and there's also his pal spencer so i can't really make a list lol
Zyklon Coven what are his other good albums?
kfc city, iasia, believe in hawaii, last american hero, on air, night dolls... fuck it, his whole discography
Kava Jar Race around 40 minutes in
I did this on acid and I understood.
28:19 really hits that place of strange, unconcious familiarity
44:11 Had this stuck in my head all day
Definitely my favorite release of his nowadays
Oozing out everywhere
This, Star Digital Theater and Wild World are where it’s at
church bells in heaven
I always ignored this release over other 09 gems but holy fuck this is so good
14:33 is when it comes together.
yup !!!!! all that precedes it feels like its for buildup& immersion ,. this music is so mindbending that you need 2 get aclimated just 2 begin 2 understand it
I wonder what the inside of James' sleepmask says
15-25 minutes in on this might be the best thing ferraro did. transcendent shit
Last american hero tho
Which i am almost 100% sure it is a reimagining of this, but more minimalist
f150 was my favourite ferraro for a long time but genie head gas be hitting different these days
@@lop_nur have u heard terminus

hope this one gets remastered someday
ifeel like i have a deep aesthetic understanding of this album

4:30 Oh YES!
