    Thank you for that exceptional review! So which channel do we need to prefer for Subwoofer? High power or stereo? Or Can we leave it on AVR?

    Im also considering adding something like this to my X4400H setup instead of upgrading to a AV1 or X6800H. I dont know if its true but from what i hear you will have better sound quality using a lower model receiver + good external amp vs a top of the line receiver. but maybe im wrong.
    I stil have to figure out if the X4400H can only preout the Front and center and leave the rest on the internal amp. My Front's are SVS Ultra's (bookshelf + center) so i want to feed those with the best output for movies an music (in 2.2 mode with the sub's but i dont use surround).
    The rear Primes are fine on the Internal amp since they are not doing a lot of work compared to the fronts. Same goes for the Jamo Atmos speakers.

      The X4400H has 11 pre-out connections so you can send a signal to an amplifier(s) for up to 11 speakers.

    Would love a review of the Outlaw 5000 with audio test. Its so much cheaper than the other popular amps and I wonder how it sounds?

      matt giunta I own the Outlaw 5000. It was an absolute bargain when I bought it a few years ago for $500 and even if it doubled in price it would still be a bargain. Outlaw doesn’t spent much $$ on advertising, so that cost savings is passed onto you, the consumer. I can’t imagine anyone not being happy with their purchase, but if you are, just like almost any manufacturer out there, they have a no questions asked return policy.

    Nice review. I have a 4.1 system, would you recommend getting a 3 or 5 channel amp ?

      Thank you! I would go 5 channel so you have an extra channel if your system grows.

    So if i understand correctly, since the stereo modules don’t provide much improvements, i should consider the XPA-3 for my front channels (L+R+C) for best results and let my Pioneer Elite AVR handle easily the rest of the channels. Right?

    Great review. However, dedicated amps being measured with one channel driven doesn't exactly say much these days. Where's Krell when you need them! Btw I have 2 Emotiva amps in my system and this one doesn't seem to be worth the upgrade.

    Hey great video. I am thinking about upgrading my current Emotiva 5 channel amp to this 9 channel so I can run all my speakers through this Amp. May 5 main big speakers are getting the higher power and will be running 4 smaller in-ceiling speakers with 2 lower power stereo module. Smaller in-ceiling speakers are 91 db sensitive, power handling 50W/RMS 200W/Rms - would that be good enough? or should I consider buying whole another 5 channel amp.

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lower power stereo module should be fine.

    Hey there home theatre, great video 👍🏽 up, now I am stock on to buy an emotiva or monolith amplifier between the 2 what’s your pick?

    • @Cybertron-cs7sk

      Both excellent purchases Emotiva is excellent in 7 channel configuration and then add another 5 channel Emotiva version for heights later. Some people don't like the angled front of the Monolith although I've heard mixed reviews some love, some hate. Personally I'd buy the Emotiva because amps is what they do best out of all there range a lot of my friends have it and swear by it only positive response if kept to 7 channel version. Hope this helps.

    Hi, I need a suggestion, how about an 5.1 amplifier which has 85 watt per channel with 5.1 set up of 2 tower 3 way speaker with subwoofer capacity is 180 watt per speaker& 1 center speaker 120 watt & 2 surround speakers 85 each. Is this a overload to the amplifier or will it be ok for a good clarity music & life of the amplifier..

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Make sure everything is connected correctly but that amplifier should be fine based on the definition you gave. An amplifier with more power (example 150 watts per channel, all channels driven, 20Hz - 20KHz) would yield more clarity and definition.

    Do you have or can you make a video step by step on how connect an Avr receiver and the Emotiva xpa amplifier? I have the 11 gen 3 amplifier, Denon receiver with a 7.1 speaker configuration for now.

    if my speakers are rated for 150watts. can i use the high power module?

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. It won't put out a continuous 300watts that is only supplied if needed. Also to reassure you, my speakers aren't rated at 300 watts either and it worked fine. 🙂

    • @jimmiewad
      @jimmiewad 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the response. Does an external amp really make that big of difference?

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your speakers are more demanding ie require more power than the difference will be more noticeable. I notice more detail and definition in music and movies which you may not have realized was there. Or that your speakers could sound so good. Is it absolutely required? No but it can provide what I mentioned previously. 😁 Happy Holidays!!!

    Can I use xpa 9 as 11 channels to join with denon 3600 h

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you plan to use all the xpa channels then two from the Denon, yes that should work.

  • @amazoidal

    Looks like a Monolith/ATI/Outlaw copy except that this unit has a wonky computer-type switching power supply. Note the lack of a huge toroidal transformer which would probably double the weight of this unit. Looks like a money-saving move for Emotiva.

      @@timdmyterko4208 i am leaning towards the monolih 7x as well but for the emotiva 7-9-11 whats the total psu and wpc the website doesn't really give accurate readings and so do most reviews.

    • @timdmyterko4208

      I believe 300 wpc is the max for 2 channels out of the 2,3,5 or 7 channel models. As soon as you us more or the channels it goes down a bit from there. I believe 3 channels is 275 wpc, 250 for the 5 and I thing 200 for the 7 which is about the same for the Emotiva, my apologies as I re-read your question, I believe the higher power channels do as I just explained but the 9 and 11 channel versions are 65 as they are the stereo modules. I like the name and look of the Emotivas but for the money I felt it was a better value for the Monolith. Just my opinion. Good luck!

      That may be true. But I could actually hear better channel separation as he went to the Emotiva. Even on my phone. But my phone does have stereo speakers. If your phone only has one speaker. Definitely would need headphones to hear the difference.
