If you have this on disk, I highly recommend you watch this once with the director's commentary on. It is very illuminating. For example, the drill torture of Roselyn Sanchez's character was one of the "least dark" tortures they learned about. The boat extract of the team after the rescue was live fire. And of course the reference to Rorke jumping on the grenade was based on the act of SEAL Michael Monsoor, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The quote by Chief Tecumseh is by far the most beautiful quote on life I will ever hear. A powerful speech about not just fighting like a warrior, but to live, love, and die as one. To always give respect, even to your enemies. And never be afraid of death, for it is just as much a part of life as being alive.
Truly a beautiful code to live by. To always strive to fight and live for love and always be ready to accept your time with a full heart.

Also in a scene before that when they were sneaking through the swamp a water moccasin swam between the legs of a Seal, when asked if that scared him he said "of course not, we're the apex predators out here"

Every time I see the Handgrenade scene jt kills me knowing that happens Kare than we know, Kyle Carpenter and now the British Royal Marine who thought fast enough to throw his ruck sack onto of the grenade and jumped ontop of it on his back curling into a ball , the blast through him several meters but the ruck sack between him and his vest was enough to keep shrapnel out and he only ended up with a concussion. To see a grenade and know these guys love their brothers SO much that the INSTINCT is to jjumo ONTO IT to save your boys KNOWING. your life is fine I jsut can’t imagine! Loved the reaction and love that these guys are were all active SEALs and GF the. Cooperation of the Navy. Black Rifle Coffee Company did an interview with one of the SEALs that was in that scene and he was a new SEAL and said they went out In the Florida waters where it was clear and had to make a one take shot for the movie because the sub was on active duty ,..moved to Florida jsut for 1 scene. He got prepared and jsut like an actual mission the sub was dead o. Time and it went flawlessly then egressed the sub and got the shot of it submerging . He said it was in out and over So quickly !

Please react to Casualties of War, a great movie I really think you'll enjoy! Also, Hotel Mumbai is intense.

I recommend 1917. It is to WW1 what Saving Private Ryan is to WW2.

Movies you should react to: “Unbroken,” “The Patriot,” “Hacksaw Ridge,” “The Hurt Locker,” and “Pearl Harbor.”

@@jerseyfky although I would not put it in a great movie category, the actual attack scenes followed by the Doolittle raid are at least mostly accurate (even though the main characters were not real)
