Love this concept and what Degreed is doing. It's going to be hard to change the centuries old perception that a college degree is the only valid measure of education, but with persistence and a large enough movement, it can be done. Today's generation utilizes videos, articles, online courses, etc. to such great effect that solid skills are being developed long before they would even enter college, and many are even considering whether 4 years of college (and the massive expense) will be a net positive for them.I applaud these young people and hope that Degreed Skill Certification can give them the skills validation they need to use as currency in the job market.
+svtman21 I'm about a *year* late with this response, yet I still wanted to chime in to give another measure of kudos to the vision of #Degreed. I'm *VERY* pleased to know that there's an effort to introduce a "Skills Certification" program into the marketplace. In respect to the presentation, I agree with the vision of working to redefine (for myself) what it means to be "educated." Thank you to everyone at Degree. You *are* making a difference in my life with your mission of greatness.
