@@thedoodleworks …and useful…when I am sketching out a design…many times I want an ombré…faded effect…this will make the process of producing a visual to my customer much more realistic and representative of the design. ☺️

@10:33 I had a problem and I’m not sure what I did! I was working on my layer five clipping mask, but when I filled the circles, it colored the whole the whole wing! I cannot figure out what I’m doing wrong *cry* I love these step by step easy tutorials because I am brand new to procreate and a noon at drawing digitally and this is slowly introducing me to different features, so thanks!

Hi, let's try this with one circle, but I'm going to change the steps...
      1. After you choose a Color and Brush... Tap on Layer 5 (like the video)
This is important for the Color Drop to work
*** When you draw a circle over the wings make sure there are no gaps (like the video)
      2. Draw a small but complete circle over the butterfly's wing.
      3. At this point it's okay if your circle goes over the wings edge
      4. Now drag and drop your color into the circle. The paint should only fill the circle
      5. You can now add the other circles... since you've mastered the color drop
      6. Once you're done, go to layers, tap on layer 5, choose clipping mask. The overflow paint is now hidden.
Check out this video Color Drop I need to update it but it's till good- th-cam.com/video/Qat_s-uKrFE/w-d-xo.html

@@thedoodleworks I followed the video a second time and it did it again! Then I tried your thoughtful steps and I succeeded! I have no clue what the issue was when I did it the other way. Just a beginner’s blindness to some setting I’m sure. I’ll have to try it once again in the future to make sure I get it right. Thank you!

Hector, when I color drop on layer 5 (clipping mask), it fills the wing. I ensured that the alfa lock is on 4 and the clipping mask on 5. What am I doing wrong, please?

I think the outline in layer 5 (the clipping mask layer) hides the part of the outline that goes over the butterfly shape in layer 4. You can temporarily turn off the clipping mask layer to make your outline completely visible.
      Below are the steps:
      1. Tap layer 5 to open the side menu
      2. Tap clipping mask to turn it off
      3. Redraw your outlines (make sure there are no gaps)
      4. Color drop
      5. Tap layer 5 turn on clipping mask
      I hope this helps…
