Other than the compliments I got from my now departed Unicorn of Amazingness that was the love of my life the last compliment I got from a woman was...
A nurse. Telling me I was very tough because she forgot to dose me with Novocain before she started abrading out a wound I needed stitches for because she was convinced I had a piece of metal in it. There was nothing in the wound...

I compliment my man pretty much every time we meet up.
On the other hand, he has never complimented me without being first prompted, aka "what do you like about me".
I will have to talk to him about it cause it's bothering me, but yeah, here you go. An account of a reverse situation.
The thing is, we are both autistic. We just like clear communication and don't soak in stupid social norms like other people do.

The first time most men will get flowers is at their funeral. Sad but true.

    • @MrBrachiatingApe
      @MrBrachiatingApe 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +56

      Yep. I've never gotten flowers.
I'm 45. I've had a total of 15 years in LTRs size I was 17, and about 7 years in STRs that didn't take off. Been on another 100,150 first or second dates. Women have mostly only offered to pay for anything when in an LTR, and even then it was rare enough to be touching, unexpected.
Only my first gf in high school reciprocated anywhere close to the effort I put in. Not coincidentally, she and I have been talking a lot recently. We're both single, never married, no kids, and I have been in love with her since I was 17. It was a fantastic relationship for 2.5 years, but the last 6 months were not great, through no fault of hers. We were both immature, and I was dealing with since truly crushing shit I couldn't ask her to deal with (life ruining stuff; some of it my fault, most not.) We've stayed friends, and have known each other for almost 30 years. She is the only woman I've ever been in love with, and yes, that includes my ex fiancee who I was with for 7 years. I told myself I didn't need to be on live to have a good marriage; I'm faithful, honest, hard working, physically fit, apparently good looking (I've been told very handsome, even beautiful, but from sources Im unsure how serious to take), and capable of earning a lot of money though I've lost everything both times thanks to the crash in 2008/9 and CoVid (plus my ex fiancee stealing about $350,000). I've got an IQ high enough that most people think I'm lying if I give a specific number; even so, I'm an idiot for taking so long to stop struggling against the obvious truth. And it has been obvious; I just thought I did learn to love someone else, and or be happy without being in love with my partner.
It took my grandmother dying, my dad and my best friend getting terminal illnesses to make me realize I should tell her what I've felt this whole time, rather than sparing her feelings. She told me I was the love of her life, and the reason she'd never married. Now I just need to complete my move back to the USA... But after living in Asia for 15 years, it's not super easy.
I know most of this is off topic, but life has been so terrible with everybody I care about getting sick and dying. I have to put aside everything in feeling to help them, and don't have anybody to talk to except strangers. This is the first ray of light since about 2020.
Wish me luck. If this doesn't work out, I hope that taking action and trying will allow me to move on. Not that I really want to, but it would be an okay consolation prize and hopefully allow me to meet and fall in love with someone else.
If you read all this, thank you. I don't expect anybody to care, but sometimes we need to say it write everything and have our words witnessed. I wish I could be entirely self-resistant in every way but I have not ever quite managed. Read this, I hope your life goes amazingly well, and I wish you luck, health, happiness, and prosperity.

It's a test. It's all a test. Will you compromise your good nature to get a girl? There is only another life after this and another, then another, and on and on because the soul( you inside the body) is eternal. And the way you conduct yourself determines what atmosphere you will be in next. So realize that( a symptom of the soul is awareness for example)and stick to your guns. If you're good, eventually your life will be too. You are so not alone.

They're the bad guys in the situation and if they just think hey let's put guys in the bad guy position and me in the good guy position then nobody will know I was the bad guy in this situation not knowing that men literally have different brains and don't act the same and they just tried to project to the internet their bad behaviours onto men

The mentally safe option is to ignore them. I've bitten once when a woman said she really likes how I look and my messages are so thoughtful and engaging making her look forward to reading and responding. I replied by asking her on a date and I get ghosted. It hurt a lot back then, but now I realize she probably had a bet with a friend to see how fast she can get me to ask her out on a date. Some women find sport in that, especially when it takes so little effort on their part.

I guess I must be a woman then. 🤷‍♂️ Seriously dude, get real. Women have so many options it’s ridiculous - rejection doesn’t even FAZE them. But as a man, it’s like “welp, back to the drawing board - hopefully I can get one date out of ten potential ones and maybe a 10% chance of a second one!” Not to mention that when you’re young and fall for a girl who just ends up leaving you for your best friend after three years together, that shit sticks. It really messes with you, ESPECIALLY when no other women seem interested enough in you afterwards.

We talked a little bit and as she was getting ready to leave she asked “How come you never asked me out?”. 🤯 I had no clue. Or six women laugh at you! I was at a bar with some friends, and there was a table of women - I figured they were on a girls' night out and didn't want to be approached, so didn't go near them. I had to leave earlier than the other guys (working early the next day) and on my way to the door one of these girls walks up and asks "Why didn't you come over and say hello?" I explained that it looked like they were having a girls' night out, which clearly isn't an invitation some guy to rock up and start hitting on them. I wondered why she thought I would be silly enough to walk over to a table of six women and try some corny pick-up line type of introduction. She could have walked up to the bar when I went up to get a round of drinks and said "hello" herself.

Us women who generally do care and are being straight up and honest and are not playing mind games immediately get the assumption that we just want something for men. It's called basic relating. I see the stereotyping played out by both sides men and women that have been abused by women will just always assume that every woman is like that and up to something and vice versa. Is not until both a man and a woman actually fully mature and realize hey not every man and woman out there is complete total piece of crap, maybe just maybe more better relationship opportunities will show up. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Till then I'll be on my own avoiding men, because it's the same argument have, what's the point? If I have the most love and respect for myself why am I going to let a man or a woman jeopardize that and waste my time

It's a liability to presume ANY perceived flirtation is actual flirtation. It's always safer to assume she's "just being nice". Sucks because there've been a handful of times I wanted to return the "interest" but had to play dumb for my own protection.

Countless times. Where I'd love to reciprocate what I think might be genuine interest. But just can't take the chance that I'm wrong due to the current landscape. So long as we're all going to be lumped into the category of having the bear chosen over us in a hypothetical that will never come to pass, i have to assume all interest is just common pleasantries and nothing deeper than that.
