I agree with Korbin on this. I liked the movie but it had its flaws. The storytelling could’ve been better for sure. The pacing was really fast at times and you end up not being completely invested in the characters. I wish SRK and Nagarjuna’s character had more screen time. The music was so good too. I loved the BGM and the songs. But the visuals were definitely spectacular. Only wish the dialogues were better.

Saw it first day first show here in the UK with family. Everyone applauded for the sheaar vision of Ayan Mukherjee. Don't expect a Sardar Udham or The Great Indian Kitchen. Brahmastra is not flawless. But it's brave, it's the step forward that bollywood needed. It could only be given a chance just to appreciate director Ayan Mukherjee's honest effort and vision for creating this never seen before spectacle in Indian cinema. And when I say never seen before, I say that keeping Bahubali or RRR in mind. I liked it way more than RRR and of course that garbage KGF2. Bahubali on the other hand had a deeper soul, something that Brahmastra lacks in. Yet, it's worthy to watch for it's honest attempt. An easy 3.5/5. And yes, #Boycott_the_Boycotters

I agree with whatever you both say. If you ask me the attempt is right, They just didn't go for a big casting rather I feel that the entire cast had done a good job. And for the first attempt to do something like this they did a fabulous job. But There is something missing when they say love is stronger than any power even against the most powerful Astra, but the love line felt a bit empty because it's developement is quite fast and there is no explanation why they are so attracted to each other. And I was expecting that to be explained throughout the move. And they didn't touch how to possibly find a switch for the Astra. And why it's the love and Isha to be the switch. And when they put love and Isha as a switch they didn't make the enough character building to Isha since that character remains the same from start to end just be by Shiva's side and help him as a switch or a guide. Because from start to end Shiva says Isha is his light... But why??? Even the silliest explain for a minute would have done it..
      Just my view...

My wife and I saw this on the ninth too, (I'm guessing there were about 100 Hindis and and this old white couple-us) and we loved it. Great spectacle and absolutely beautiful to look at. One thing I thought was wonderful is two people who loved each other and there was no hyper neurotic in-ability that wouldn't allow one or the other of them to express that. Really refreshing. We saw in 2D and it had all the elements you mentioned...in spades. Rick-a nod to you-in your trailer reaction you suggested it might be a good idea to bring some ear plugs along. We did and wouldn't have been able to stay if we hadn't. I swear it seemed louder than some rock concerts I've been to. But the earplugs saved us. Thanks so much for the tip. Both RRR and Brahmastra have been revelations to me. I personally think with the multi-verse Marvel has gone off the rails. These two Indian movies have shown me that real creativity, magic and wonder are still out there to be shown on the old silver screen!💖💖💖💖💖

Ayans intentions were very pure 6-7 years earlier love stories were prevalent maybe he would have thought that without that element movie won't work. plus Indian mythology is so broad it was always going to be difficult to tell the story effectively. Although i am also not a big fan of brahmastra because of the choices it made about how they would tell the story yet i am pretty much happy about the trial and original content. But Brahmāstra is unique in its concept... Moreover , this movie has the biggest budget . I don't know why all the people are trying to be so intellectual unnecessarily . The canvas of Brahmāstra is huge . We can't even imagine how much hardwork it took to be made. Not only the hardwork, the makers at least have tried something different and unique in a good way obviously . It's may not be flawless, but you can't mark the whole movie as a flaw only , it's much more than that .We have to understand that this film is much important to reveal a whole new chapter in Indian cinema in many ways .

Mild Spoilers (plot wise) maybe if you haven't seen the trailers....
I think the reason for the second half being felt so long and quiet by a bunch of people is that it was shorter... Personally even watching the trailers I kinda knew the 1st 2nd and 3rd acts of the film and based on that I placed my interval after the fight sequence that follows so while watching the film when the break happened It was too quick for me... And the best part (2nd act az it seemed from the trailers) was yet to come. Also I understood that "Deva Deva" was supposed to be the training montage and therefore it was gonna come before it so it didn't feel draggy or anything I just wish that the 1st half sorta ended with him completing his training and then then the second half began with him joining the crusade and learning more about him eventually leading up to the big finale that was.. This was near perfect for me aside from the fact that Ranbir-Alia fell in love way too quick and may be the interactions between the rest of the "Brahmansh" or rather the lack of it! But I do feel and hope that by the end of the trilogy, it is going to be one hell of a war between our main antagonist and the them led by Shiva! So, that complaint of lack of interaction between "the other characters" will be sorted out pretty smoothly.
    This was easily a 4/4.5 out of 5!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Nope this is not India's first superhero movie.
India's first superhero is Shaktimaan and then I guess Krrish (Hrithik Roshan movie) and now this Bhramastra.

The philosophy behind a couple of super hit movies in Hollywood is based on Hinduism. Hollywood itself has actually been embracing arcane Indian systems for a long time now. A few well-known Hollywood stars have willingly and openly expressed this fact to the public.
Obvious and hidden references to Hindu symbolism can be found in many movies, including Batman, Superman and Memento. The plots of some movies that are based on Vedic or Hindus teachings are : Avatar, Matrix Trilogy, Interstellar, Star Wars Series, and Inception

Completely with korbin here...great vfx , action and music but lacks depth in writing ( very week ) , screenplay and characters... And that love story could have been trimmed to give more imp and explain the plot and astraverse...

If you are a fan of Hollywood superheroes movies, you will obviously like the movie because of the usual flashy visuals that they use. However you are more into the complex philosophical aspects of a movie, this is not the movie for you. American superhero movie is primarily fan based, so is the Indian one. If you are used to East Asian movies where they they depict the complexity of a culture based ideology , you will be disappointed with such an easy peasy concept. I would recommend people to watch series like midnight mass or Hellbound in case someone needs his brain to be exercised a little.

The biggest drawback of the film was the dialogues. Every word of every sentence was forced and uncomfortable to hear. I wish I didn't knew Hindi maybe then I would've enjoyed it more.

Guys if you don't like the movie please say so .. be completely honest .. don't be in awe of euphoria created by any production house ... if it's good it's good .. if it's not then it's not ... mainstream newspapers are giving it 1.5 or 2 stars .. so it's not that good in my opinion.

I think you guys should be *more open* while reviewing so it can be clear to the viewers regarding the expectations and how it went awkward. Don't worry just speak your heart. If you don't like : *you don't like it.* That's it ! I didn't like it either and came to know most of the plot from the trailers itself. Wasn't a big miss.

its trilogy...of fantasy based sanatan/hindu mythological based drama..its very relevant to hindu mythology with fictional characters.....part 1 was the introduction of the protagonist shiva who posesses the power of lord shiva in the climax destroying brahmastra or gains the power to control brahmastra...said by "amitabhbachan"...so climax is the opening of brshmastra..part 2 will reveal everything.its like brahmadev vs mahadev/lord shiva.....as written in hindu puranas vedas..during more then 1000 2000 bc...brahmastra is not the powerful astra/weapon of brahmadev in the entire universe....lord shivas trishul and pashupatastra is more powerful weapon in all the universe..means lord shiva is the destruction of everything..everything starts from lord shiva and ends with lord shiva...and lord vishnu's astra as powerful then lord shiva.which is Narayanastra and other astra's too...thats why it is called astraverse..people or some youth who have lack of information or knowledge about our gods and godesses or sanatan/hindu mythlogy will not understand this film...so concept is this...
