  • I fitted an Oil Pump to this TT, it solved the oil pressure loss problem, but the Turbo was blown at this stage, I fitted a new turbo and sorted that bit out, enjoy the video, thanks for subscribing, share and like the video too, until next time, drive safely.

Great video. I was already planning to replace the pickup pipe as my car has 106,000 miles on the clock and I wanted the peace of mind and given the pump is not so expensive it would be smart to swap that out as well just to be safe and to avoid having to go back in later. Thanks for posting such a great video.

Great video. I had great running vehicle that hit something on the road that cracked pan and damaged the pump chain hanging at the bottom. Took it to shop and they said engine needed to be replaced. Engine starts and run well. They said it ruined timing chain. I know if i replaced pump and oil chain it would run. I will replace pan of course with new oil and sensor. Anything else?

Hello. For starters, great video! I'm currently in the process of doing this job, but even with releasing tension on the chain, I'm still unable to get it over the gear. Is there some trick or order of the job to getting it on?

audi tt 2009 TFSI, The car show up low oil pressure. Blink red 3 times. I hope it isn't anything major. Not many video on these mk2, Mk1 audi tt are now popping up on youtube, Before It was very vague. Sometime I have to used the MK1 layout to locate for the MK2 It works for the most part.
I will try the senor, Will take out the pan and clean out any clogged if occur with slugged. Any other suggestion?

Can't you just get away by cleaning the sludges off the pump, I seen that done. It seem to fix the problem.

Try that 1st, if it does not work then you must consider a new oil pump.

I couldn't get the gear bolt off the oil pump, It was on really tight. It was causing the components inside the motor to start to spin. Is that normal? I ended up just removing it from the chain. Thanks

Hi I have a audi tt 2009 tdi it struggles to start and cuts out. On diagnosis it comes up with oil pressure sensor and air quality sensor i have changed both but problem is still there as are codes any ideas at all would be highly appreciated

It could be the Air Mass Meter, or a leaking intake manifold, have these possibilities looked at.

Do I need to use a gasket where the oil pump is bolted to the cylinder block?

Did you record the oil pressure at idle, 2k and 3k before and after the pump change? I have just finished rebuilding a TT engine. Getting low pressure, even after new crank bearings. I didn't change the oil pump. I am at 10psi idle, 39psi at 2k, 54 at 3k.
About 10psi low across the board.

Hi Tony, I recommend you fit a new oil pump too, as you rebuilt the engine.

@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 yep. Ordered a quality one and hope to fit on Friday.
I believe the oil pressure monitor point it directly connected to the pump output, before the oil cooler and filter. I am going to try and prove that with some wire this week. I think that is what the design engineers would do. I also want to record what loss occurs through the filter/cooler.
Will get back to you. Cheers, T

Thanks for the feedback Tony, eagerly awaiting your findings, we learn every day and I for one am always willing to, it does not mean that when one has years of experience new things cannot be learned this I know through personal experience.
