Years ago, I remember reading an account from near the end of WW2, that recounted a battle where two or three Jagdtigers took part. In that account, it was noted that the vehicles performed very well in the task of dealing with enemy tanks, but were severely limited in their capabilities about escaping with the battle turned against them. The Jagdtiger crews were typically trained to always keep their heaviest armor to the enemy, thus front toward enemy tanks. However during this engagement, one vehicle turned to run, and was punched right through the side, while the other two were pretty easily flanked and taken out. It was noted that, looking at the German doctrine for using them, that even the German commanders recognized the Jagdtiger's limitations, and felt that where possible they should try to operate at extreme ranges to deal with enemy vehicles from an ambush position. However if such wasn't possible, due to the limitations of the battle, or where it was taking place, then the Jagdtiger should be kept in reserve and out of combat. To put it simply they're not for close combat. Sadly, with War Thunder, the extreme range engagements that they were designed for, isn't possible. That means that the tank doesn't suck, per se... but that it's being forced into a situation it wasn't designed for.
I, personally, suck at Warthunder, and that's why I quit this game but I do enjoy watching videos of people who are skilled and I like the easy going kind of playstyle OddBawz is showing. I don't mind Reddit.

I understand how you feel about this tank. I had to relearn how to play War Thunder just to learn this thing. I did it because I wanted to learn how to use it so I could kill it easier.
All Tiger II derivatives have a good top speed for what they are, they have good steering as well. They just take a real long time to get up to speed / recover speed lost in turning. That said, the King Diesel has a special place in hell - they put an actually potent engine in that thing, and it accelerates on par with many mediums.

I love the Jagdtiger. You just have to be constantly planning what you will do and where you will go to avoid getting caught with your pants down. You have to plan encounters instead of just responding to threats.
Once again asking for a video on the Strv m/42 EH. That thing is a wonderful allrounder at 2.7, with great mobility. decent armour and an APHE shell that slaps like a truck.
It's very similar to lago 1 but slightly more usable cannon which makes it actually usable unlike the lago 1, knowing the weaknesses of sherman tanks also helps
I feel like people who enjoy the Jagdtiger would love the Foch, since it also has great frontal armor, a big gun and unlike the Jagdtiger, it can actually move. But alas, no one cares about it except for me.
@@homeboy_jesus6467 insane? How much have you played it! It is terrible against angles, and because it is apbc and not apcbc, warthunder lowers its pen by 30mm. Also, it is solid shot and so it is not reliable to one shot tanks. Plus a 14.9s max reload with solid shot is terrible
5:50 this is why I want spookston to do a vid on APCR, so much of it feels off in game. Spookston being an absolute hero on Alaska saving your Jagdtiger
From my experience, the Jagdtiger is all about using youre frontal armour to absorb enemy fire while you place a careful shot to one shot enemies. its not a good brawler or a good sniper, its a great medium range to close range one shot beast
I think the main issue is just that the 128mm's feel incredibly underwhelming and almost glitchy in their pen-angles\overmatching. Also just the absolute kicking in the nuts of any armour meta thanks to the *amazing* balancing the Gaijin does.

I loved the Jagdtiger. It's still the tank I've had the best games in to this day. Massive gun and equally massive amounts of armor is a great combination, though I understand why someone who prefers faster tanks would hate it. I always had a ton of fun going hull-down in a good position and saying, "No, YOU move," to anything that tried to shoot at me.
I must say I like the fact you took the time to acknowledge the fact that even though you don't like the tank because of your playstyle it doesn't mean that people with different playstyle wouldn't. I myself quite like the jagdtiger and other vehicule of it's kind but I can see why the slower paced and more methodical playstyles wouldn't fit everyone, just like I know I don't really like brawly tanks like the sherman. It doesn't mean that the sherman is bad ofc, but since what I enjoy doing more is staying back and trying to hit long range shots it's just not the vehicule for me.
I personally quite like the Jagdtiger, I mean I get why someone would not like it because well it isn't very mobile but when I'm playing it I always think like "haha Kruppstahl go bounce bounce and gun go boom boom"
It's like how I love all the shermans. I know they have weaknesses and strengths, and they don't always go well with my style--or lack of--but I much prefer them and a couple of the panzer IVs. That doesn't make them genuinely good or bad, just that I prefer them.
The jagdtiger is great at defending an area at long range. You also need something more maneuverable with you in case the enemy closes. I love this tank but it is situational. You really need to think about where you need to be in 2 minutes rather than reacting to the enemy team

I returned to WT after looong time, when I was around jagtiger was the top dog of the german TD line and I loved it with all my heart. And to be fair I was quite surprised that in the era of all those modern tanks and aircraft and ammo it still can put up a fight, you have to know your limits. The best time I had playing it recently was with my bro using american 7.0 lineup and me providing him with heavy gun support
I don't play War Chunder but I do enjoy watching OB. I can understand why players get pissed when OB slaughters the other team by using a truck and a 37mm gun 😂😂😂😂

I personally love the Jadgtiger; it is my second most used tank (one of my favourite tanks to play) after the Tiger II (H) Sla. 16. I really enjoy using it; some don't, but I do. It may be slow (still much faster than the T-95 and Tortoise), but I love sniping with it or tanking shots from the enemy, and the gun is great. Everyone has their own opinion on which tank they like and don't like. I just really enjoy using it, and that makes me happy. :)
Playing this beast a lot, I think it's actually very good when played as it should be. Two problems it has are : when you need to be aggressive or when you play vs US/URSS with CAS like Corsairs, TU2, etc...
I once had a nuke with the Jagdtiger , all in all it was a awesome battle . There was a T95 and a Tortoise also in my team and we three were at one side of the map . They both pushed too hard and got all the attention , while I was killing everybody from behind . I survived the whole game and managed to drop a nuke . Also almost every object blocks your shells now , you can use a car as armour .

And germany, OP at 6.7? Yeah no. Its Average. But the Tiger IIs are... debatable. A really horrible armor layout in the turret and the upper part of it gets penned by something like the IS-2s quite easily (I know that the IS-2 isnt the best itself). The only ones afraid of the Tiger II are 6.3 and below. Which isnt a lot considering 6.7 is almost guaranteed to constantly give you uptiers. Thats why I also wouldnt play that tier in any other Nation. The only good things about germany 6.7 is the LeKpz 41, the Me 262 A-2a (if you have it) and more agile TDs like the Kanonenjagdpanzer or maybe the Jagdpanther if you take them up there. Still, if you consider what the "Protagonist" of germany 6.7 goes up against and what its alternatives in other Nations are... Yeah no. The only heavy that I can think of (feel free to add some if I forgot them) that does worse in that BR is the IS-2 (1944) Although I must agree that 5.0 germany is busted. Absolutely Busted. 5.3 is basically non-existent, 5.7 is almost empty but fun and 6.0 is balanced to be honest.

I’ll admit the Jagtiger isn’t the best tank play style for everyone. But there was one point in time where I had fun because it was a great counter to the T29 and T34 on small city maps. And if I died, I just spawn in my Kukalblitz and have fun shooting down planes. Sad to see it raised to 7.0 for whatever reason. Plus, those two tanks allowed me to get my one and only Nuke! Jagtiger will always have a special place in my heart. Along with the Kukalblitz.

Which is very rare apparently, everybody wants to go out and play like CSGO. Which is kind of absurd, tanks were never intended for CQB. Specially urban areas where in reality you're most likely to get knocked out by anything...

As an AB player I agree, deleting most enemies by shooting anywhere while they can do nothing but accept their fate
I think it's more because when you're used to playing lower pen vehicles you fall into those habits. I do it myself lol so I understand
1000 kills in the Jagdtiger here, I fear American upper plates since they just eat shells or bounce them, going for the face almost always works tho
as a stug main you can also clearly tell they dont play casemates often with how sloppily they maneuver them (not to rip on them but its true)
With the maus main gun AND 300 mm+ pen round, i bounce on most UFP thanks to volumetric. So UFP is iffy at best.

I loved the Jagdtiger. It's still the tank I've had the best games in to this day. Massive gun and equally massive amounts of armor is a great combination, though I understand why someone who prefers faster tanks would hate it. I always had a ton of fun going hull-down in a good position and saying, "No, YOU move," to anything that tried to shoot at me.

I must say I like the fact you took the time to acknowledge the fact that even though you don't like the tank because of your playstyle it doesn't mean that people with different playstyle wouldn't. I myself quite like the jagdtiger and other vehicule of it's kind but I can see why the slower paced and more methodical playstyles wouldn't fit everyone, just like I know I don't really like brawly tanks like the sherman. It doesn't mean that the sherman is bad ofc, but since what I enjoy doing more is staying back and trying to hit long range shots it's just not the vehicule for me.

I personally quite like the Jagdtiger, I mean I get why someone would not like it because well it isn't very mobile but when I'm playing it I always think like "haha Kruppstahl go bounce bounce and gun go boom boom"

It's like how I love all the shermans. I know they have weaknesses and strengths, and they don't always go well with my style--or lack of--but I much prefer them and a couple of the panzer IVs. That doesn't make them genuinely good or bad, just that I prefer them.

The jagdtiger is great at defending an area at long range. You also need something more maneuverable with you in case the enemy closes. I love this tank but it is situational. You really need to think about where you need to be in 2 minutes rather than reacting to the enemy team

I returned to WT after looong time, when I was around jagtiger was the top dog of the german TD line and I loved it with all my heart. And to be fair I was quite surprised that in the era of all those modern tanks and aircraft and ammo it still can put up a fight, you have to know your limits. The best time I had playing it recently was with my bro using american 7.0 lineup and me providing him with heavy gun support

I personally love the Jadgtiger; it is my second most used tank (one of my favourite tanks to play) after the Tiger II (H) Sla. 16. I really enjoy using it; some don't, but I do. It may be slow (still much faster than the T-95 and Tortoise), but I love sniping with it or tanking shots from the enemy, and the gun is great. Everyone has their own opinion on which tank they like and don't like. I just really enjoy using it, and that makes me happy. :)

Playing this beast a lot, I think it's actually very good when played as it should be. Two problems it has are : when you need to be aggressive or when you play vs US/URSS with CAS like Corsairs, TU2, etc...

I once had a nuke with the Jagdtiger , all in all it was a awesome battle . There was a T95 and a Tortoise also in my team and we three were at one side of the map . They both pushed too hard and got all the attention , while I was killing everybody from behind . I survived the whole game and managed to drop a nuke .
Also almost every object blocks your shells now , you can use a car as armour .
I agree, when playing germany you are worried about everything, hell just playing war thunder you are worried

@@caralho5237 Doesnt justify hating on it at every possible situation. I still remember the sub malding and seething about the Leopard 2AV one and a half years ago. OVER THE FUCKING 2AV. And germany, OP at 6.7? Yeah no. Its Average. But the Tiger IIs are... debatable. A really horrible armor layout in the turret and the upper part of it gets penned by something like the IS-2s quite easily (I know that the IS-2 isnt the best itself). The only ones afraid of the Tiger II are 6.3 and below. Which isnt a lot considering 6.7 is almost guaranteed to constantly give you uptiers. Thats why I also wouldnt play that tier in any other Nation. The only good things about germany 6.7 is the LeKpz 41, the Me 262 A-2a (if you have it) and more agile TDs like the Kanonenjagdpanzer or maybe the Jagdpanther if you take them up there. Still, if you consider what the "Protagonist" of germany 6.7 goes up against and what its alternatives in other Nations are... Yeah no. The only heavy that I can think of (feel free to add some if I forgot them) that does worse in that BR is the IS-2 (1944)
Although I must agree that 5.0 germany is busted. Absolutely Busted. 5.3 is basically non-existent, 5.7 is almost empty but fun and 6.0 is balanced to be honest.

I’ll admit the Jagtiger isn’t the best tank play style for everyone. But there was one point in time where I had fun because it was a great counter to the T29 and T34 on small city maps. And if I died, I just spawn in my Kukalblitz and have fun shooting down planes. Sad to see it raised to 7.0 for whatever reason. Plus, those two tanks allowed me to get my one and only Nuke! Jagtiger will always have a special place in my heart. Along with the Kukalblitz.

My playstyle is sit somewhere, tank hits and shoot back. Which is very rare apparently, everybody wants to go out and play like CSGO.
Which is kind of absurd, tanks were never intended for CQB. Specially urban areas where in reality you're most likely to get knocked out by anything...
