My gave flounder jig is a pink and white banana pompano jig with a with chartreuse quill. My wifes fave to eat so she sends me to go catch her some!! And boned whole baked,stuffed with blue crab,shrimp and loads of garlic butter. Keeps her happy. Keep catching them mate.

Hey Little Buddy! When you use circle hooks (gar video, etc...) you don't set the hook! The hook is designed to set itself. All you have to do leave enough hook sticking out of the bait to stick the fish and reel! That's it, you are literally pulling the circle hooks out of the fishes mouth. You won't break anymore poles either! 😉💯
Yessir! Yea we know not to set circle hooks but its just a habit lol. Now for gar we had to set the hook. Its either i let it run and swallow the hook or set the hook and have a healthy gar to release😂. Also the rods weren’t ours lol

drag set way to loose for fishing rocks and pile. Got to be able to turn them. If line break turning them so be it, loose them in the pile either way. They will run for them pile and rock.
Ive never had a problem with the drag like that. That fish was just big. Big flounder or maybe red or drum.

Hey bro so what kinda of gulp are you using again? My buddy & I mainly fish redfish but been wanting to catch flounder also. My buddy caught a beast of a 39 inch Red Bull this week at Texas city dike.
The swimming mullet gulp are the best. I say always get the white ones. After that you can mix the colors. They will hit anything

Yoooo what do you have paired with that Shimano reel? I have the same reel but I broke my Waterloo Phantom I had it on when I got stuck in the rocks at the jetties lol. I've been doing some research to try and find something new to pair it up with.
I have a Abu Garcia IKE EZ Rod. I dont really like it but its be working well. I actually do want a waterloo rod though🎣
@@GGAnglers ahh ok thanks. I really liked my Waterloo. The one I had was a 7' 6" medium-heavy and it was really light. I broke it by pulling way too hard on it when it got stuck, so nothing against the rod. They are great rods for sure.

Good video! But there really isn't no "count down" such as a "3 second" count. It's feeling the tug of your fishing line, as if lifting your fishing pole and feeling like a pull from that flounder. If you feel the flounder pulling away, then set the hook. Too many inaccuracies of everyone saying or giving a count down of when to set the hook. Keep safe!

I caught it at the first pier but they are anywhere that has structure. The piers, boat ramps, rocks, old pier structure. There are plenty of spots like that within the d!ke!
