Yeah, saw them three times, back in the days where he was moving and jumping around. Never thought he was out of tune on live performances I assisted, but when I watched live recording, it was a different story. On the recent recordings, he has a great voice and I find it very enjoyable to listen to them, even if the quality of the recording is often crappy.
Sat right there in the front row and relistening to this recording a year later I now realize how different it sounds! I guess I was overwhelmed with the sheer amount of detail put into every part that I couldn't even recognize if this was the concert I even went to lol. Im hearing new parts and reprises every time i listen.
Man I was only introduced to this band a month ago but I'm in love with them. I cant even explain the feeling I get from listening to their music-- its like I finally feel alive. It triggers something in my brain nothing ever has before. Im just completely head over heels for this music

De-loused… is something beyond special. I play it in full a lot less than I use to, but damn when I’m alone on a bus or traveling somewhere; it’s the ultimate album to listen to, for me, it just gets me so pumped for everything that’s ahead!!!
@@saulgoodman.exe_ Weird backhanded response lol, I'm not mad, just... They're older..? Dio used to lower the key haha, it's a perfectly reasonable and good thing to do.

They sound better than ever. Slightly miss the mental frenetic energetic dance moves they used to rip out, but, they are old boys now. They are only looking back for our benefit. They are charting new territory at this point. So good to see them… pray they come to NZ…
I saw The Mars Volta open for A Perfect Circle in Dallas in 2004 and it changed my life. They played Deloused in the Comatorium in its entirety and I had chills the entire time. I remember it so vividly. I was a freshman in Highschool and it urged me to pursue the guitar and started a band shortly thereafter. Cedric and Omar are musical geniuses. Thank you for the quality upload.
dear gods what a show - we're the same age and i've been to my share of amazing shows but there are very few things i wouldn't trade to see what you saw then.
I cannot say for sure how many times I've watched this now. This band is INCREDIBLY CAPTIVATING, I really wish I knew about them sooner but I'm 16 right now so they weren't really on the radar when I was discovering music, but better late then never. This music has really changed my life, for the better too!!

Did you get a ticket? Any seat worth a damn has been scooped up by scalpers and resold for like a grand...(I'm in Florida , so im talking about the Atlanta show) So i guess I'll still never see them in my lifetime. Such a shame.. 😞
I was at the Boston show on this tour. Had followed them through their whole career but never been to a show, they always seemed to be... sloppy, rushed, too focused on crazy stage antics at the expense of the music. When I saw some footage of this tour, it seemed like everything had changed. Their focus, dedication, and the quality of what they deliver... just through the roof. They may be older now, but they've really matured in ways that they can finally do their amazing music the justice it deserves. Was an honor being at that show, without a doubt the best concert I've ever been to in my life, and I hope to see more along these lines in the years to come.
I saw them twice in the early 00s. They were very jammy with wild Who style stage moves. The first time I think the lyrics were improved. I like jammy and wild stage over being too refined and too robotic. I saw Rush once and it was like watching machines playing... it was too perfect; seemed to have no heart.
Agreed. I think part of the "crazy stage antics" can honestly be explained by thinking about how fucking good the music is-- I mean imagine playing up on stage with them, I for one know I'd lose my shit and not be able to help myself but break into aggressive dance and jumping and headbanging even while performing. Sometimes you feel the music so much you simply have to dance and their music is extremely dance-able. I can't fault Cedric for going apeshit while singing.
This is unbelievable! I saw the volta 4 times and then they split. Never thought to have the possibility to hear a new live show again, and there they are, with an amazing line up! Thank you the marble shrine for this!!! Hope to see the amazing Volta again here in Chile ❤️
