Brightcom Fraud of ₹500 Crore Exposed by SEBI | Stock hits LOWER Circuits

We have seen many scams happening in the stock market. We also have seen many times that brokers, exchanges, and SEBI have made mistakes that have caused trouble for traders. But this time, Investors and traders suffered massive losses due to a scam hatched by its promoter.
Brightcom Group, a digital marketing company listed in 2015, raised money in 2019 and 2020 by issuing shares to certain entities directly or indirectly connected to Brightcom Group. SEBI received a complaint against Brigtcom and its promoter.
It initiated an inquiry against and as they say, can open worms everywhere.SEBI unearthed a money laundering operation run in the name of investment.
SEBI found that the entities that were allotted preferential shares never paid the full amount for shares. Even money Brightcom received in lie of share issue was routed back to investing entities through a web of suspicious transactions.
SEBI initiated an inquiry against 82 entities but to date, it was able to investigate only 22 of them and even that is partial. The scam is so big that SEBI is yet to investigate this case fully and as a precaution, it has issued an interim order against Brightcom chairman and managing director Suresh Kumar Reddy and CFO Narayan Raju and barred them from holding the position of a director or any key managerial position in any listed company till further orders.
Hope this time SEBI will shed its lackadaisical approach to such cases and do justice to innocent inventors.
