I just want to say that this album changed my life. The first time I heard it, I don't think I'd ever really heard anything like it before. It also struck me how cool it was that it was just available in full on youtube for free, and was downloadable for free on Bandcamp. I was probably 16 when I came across it, and what made me fall in love with it was the fact that all of these songs were so simple, yet so so good. I think I had been under the impression that music had to be complex to be good for some reason. This deterred me from learning how to produce my own music despite my interest in it for a long time. Yet when I heard this album for the first time, I not only realized that I could make my own music too, but that it could be good. That other people could enjoy it and I could enjoy it just as much if not more than more complex music. Since then, I have fallen further into the Taxxon rabbit hole and she has become one of my biggest musical inspirations. I just recently finished and put out my first full length album that I'm very proud of. And I don't know if that would have happened without running across this album all those years ago. Thanks Patty ❤
I don't quite know what it is about this album, but it has been an absolute rock for me since I found it. The feelings of hope, assurance and optimism that live in these tracks... I often struggle to find anywhere else, within me or around me. Thank you Patricia. Thank you for creating a piece of art that gives me the power to take the fear of my unknown future and turn it into curiosity. I don't know where I'm going, how I'm gonna get there, or even who I'll be when I arrive. But when I listen to this album I remember that I'm not scared of any of that. In fact I'm going to enjoy the journey :)
21:30 6. Spaceman lyrics: I hold your picture in my hand The faded polaroid sits firmly in my grasp Its plain old little frame has aged far past the age that it would be replaced But there are no picture frames in space I saw the most beautiful sight I came up to saturn’s rings and flew right on by the side I don’t want to sound too saccharine, but I couldn’t help but be reminded of your eyes You know I always try When each star looks just like the next it all just feels so blue All these light years that I travel, I still travel without you Galaxies all around me, they all glitter with a passion, they say Hold on boy, one day you’ll be back home I lay surrounded in black sky Lost for all eternity but time still moves on by The brilliant comet’s tails are still so gallantly bright I could cry But there’s no place to wipe my eyes The vessel I reside in isn’t fixed These walls I swore were parallel now skew aside like this But perhaps I might be seeing things, I’ve been alone so long I can’t be sure You would tell me what's wrong When each star looks just like the next it all just feels so blue All these light years that I travel, I still travel without you Galaxies all around me, they all glitter with a passion, they say Hold on boy, one day you’ll be back home
Listened to it on the drive to the airport. The triumphant swell of the music as the city in the distance crested over the hills made an otherwise very anxious drive into a beautiful cosmological journey to a far-off skyport. Thank you so much for making this
I was just writing while listening to Sky Simplified and happened to get distracted and refresh your upload page to find this--a perfect midnight distraction honestly.
This is so lovely, and it has the best cover art of any of your albums! I cannot wait for your music to explode into the mainstream so I can say whilst wearing my hipster outfit "I was listening to Eric Taxxon before it was cool.".
This comment aged well :) It may not be mainstream, but between the credited use in several other video documentaries and the collaboration between her and larger youtubers such as Adam Neeley, Patricia has really grown as a name!
@@juliantrueman6542 maybe just say "I was listening to her work when she was going by her old deadname" instead of saying the name itself? I don't know Patty's feelings on this, but using a trans person's deadname for a joke without their express permission is kind of a faux pas, and it can cause gender dysphoria or icky feels.
i'm sitting here listening to the song at 21:30 on repeat crying it's absolutely beautiful thank you. it's the most accurate depiction of isolation and mental health and loneliness fuck
i really needed this breather after the objectivity response stream vods Thank you. A lot. For all of these things. Finding a sense of meaning or motivation to do things I want has felt so daunting for so long. Being able to resonate this closely with your content has made me genuinely feel like I belong somewhere, like I can carve that belonging out of the space I exist in. For the first time in what feels like forever I want to start seeing myself as a non-null entity and to feel something like trust for this feeling that I can simply exist and matter in a positive way to myself. I decided to write this here since this is where I formed the words but it's a comment that can be applied broadly across all of your content - I am inspired by you. Sorry if this is intense.
Sorry for the third comment - third times the charm. This album is just so good. It was the first one I'd discovered from you, and it holds a very very special place in my heart. This whole album feels like a warm hug from a close friend rubbing my back and telling me that everything is going to be okay. Like, "Life is tough, we all struggle with our own demons, but regardless of that, I'm here for you, and you are going to be just fine." Thank you so so much for everything that you do. From a furry, trans, autistic follower, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. ♥Don't ever stop being your amazing self.
Daaamn this album has sent me on a trip and I haven't even used any substances. Jeez. I only listened to the first 10-15 seconds of the first track on a Summoning Salt video and immediatelly came looking! Love it!
I don’t rlly know anything abt music but I can say that this is nice to make art to! It makes me feel more curious and less scared somehow,, and a mindset of exploration is very important to making good art I think. So hey thanks!
I just read your post about ABA and the abuse you went through growing up. I went through the same, and it's shattered my ability to create. I wish I knew how you made it to now with your passion and beauty intact.
This is honestly my favorite Album by you and I hope you have similar kinds of albums like this in the future. This album reminds strongly of Carl Sagan's Cosmos and Star Trek. I routinely use it to write.
sidenote: my 4 year old dog (who was my bet friend and such a loving creature) named Hutch was killed by a truck this past Saturday. thankfully, he was not mangled by the vehicle and died almost instantly, so there was no pain. i helped dig his grave and bury him, and am still working through grieving. thank you so much for this piece of music, it’s helping me so much!
Hey man, I know it’s a bit late, but I got those time stamps for you! Still weird that no-ones made one of these yet! That, or it’s been buried in the comments. Weird either way. Hope this helps!
You're so darned good!!!!! I just got into videography and remembered that you let people use your music for their projects. I'm gonna make a banger video, credit you for music and send it your way,
besides the slow beginning, this album is pretty great synth beats all the way through, especially hits a great climax with Spaceman and that 10 minute track Ascent, theyre beautiful. really like that "one or two vocal centerpieces" structure you're reprising from Gallery. i dont think this is as replayable, catchy and addictive as that or The Killer, but its still some great banging beats
Does the opening track sound a lot like Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" to anyone else? The part just before the guitar's kick in. Not that that's a bad thing by any stretch, to have a slightly sunnier and happier "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"
still my fav album of yours. I think part of the reason why I like it so much is that I grew up listening to video game music from the n64 era onwards, the usage of synths and repeated melodies sounds very ... koji kondo? if that makes any sense. The faded polaroid sits firmly in my grasp
Its plain old little frame has aged far past the age that it would be replaced
But there are no picture frames in space
I saw the most beautiful sight
I came up to saturn’s rings and flew right on by the side
I don’t want to sound too saccharine, but I couldn’t help but be reminded of your eyes

When each star looks just like the next it all just feels so blue
All these light years that I travel, I still travel without you
Galaxies all around me, they all glitter with a passion, they say
Hold on boy, one day you’ll be back home
I lay surrounded in black sky
Lost for all eternity but time still moves on by
The brilliant comet’s tails are still so gallantly bright I could cry
But there’s no place to wipe my eyes
The vessel I reside in isn’t fixed
These walls I swore were parallel now skew aside like this
But perhaps I might be seeing things, I’ve been alone so long I can’t be sure
You would tell me what's wrong
When each star looks just like the next it all just feels so blue
All these light years that I travel, I still travel without you
Galaxies all around me, they all glitter with a passion, they say
Hold on boy, one day you’ll be back home
In a sense, this feels like the album to which Rainbow Road is a sequel. I find this kind of music very calming.
I think it is, it even has the same cover artist
This is one of the greatest electronic albums ever-no cap. Standing amongst giants here this is so beautiful
