"I'm not comfortable with the fact that Britain can be overtaken by countries like Poland", it sounds a bit offensive to me, as I understand Poland (and cuntries like Poland, whatever it means) should stay always behind Britain so we don't make mr. Starmer uncomfortable? ;)

Brand new world that he will have to get used to. 😂 And not only about China, but also about the ex communist Europe, countries like Poland, Czechia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, even Romania will make such leaps in the next 5-10 years it will be ridiculous. They already made fantastic leaps, first in the 2000s then in the 2010s.

    Folks, stop being so delicate.
Poland does deserve the position they are in, because they really did some soul searching in 1989 and got to work. Almost *everything* was turned upside down and changed for better, from the currency, to the school system, down to the driving culture. The country went from a pathetic 200km of motorways to 10'000km.
What has the UK done in the 35 years? Kids still quit school at 16, because "studying is for students", I'm told. The infrastructure still resembles the 1880's except for one HSL… the other one has just been cancelled.
    And so on…

1:57 why is specifically Poland overtaking ‘uncomfortable’? Why not the whole worlds living conditions and proper wealth in solidarity?
Why single out Poland? Why not Poland? The idea is to always have Poland poorer
Why not celebrate successes in other places and hope to achieve them yourself too?

I think this guy have a mental projection of Poland from 30 years ago. But i think that is not so insulting, pepole see Poland just as "workforce country from the empowerished eastern block of commie states", this also explane why central european country is constantly called eastern european. Pepole do not realize that Poland was once one of most powerfull and largest european states, pushing western civilisation east, and spearheading the breaks in astronomy, medicine, democracy and inventions in europe. Centuries of poverty and non existance were not natural but brought to us by authoritarian, expansionist and genocidal neighbours.
If Poland continues it's rise, and it seams that will only accelerate, i hope pepole will drop this view of "warsaw pact" shithole as it was not our choice to be stuck in :)

Poland do have inflation as UK, but Poland in 20 years turned from bankrupt post communist country, to the 5th richest n powerful economy in EU. In Poland minimum wage was in 2014-125£ in 2023 it’s 850£! Do you get in UK 850£ basic unemployment benefit? No! You get 65£ per week;)in Poland when you lose a job, you get free NHS, pension contributions and for 9 months 75% of your salary from the National Insurance until you get new job! Why? Not because you are lazy! No! You just paid in tax while working to secure 6-9 months 75% of your salary( be that of illness or reduntancy)- after 9 months you will not get benefits, but common, unless you are ill, you will get the job! Poland unemployment is lower than UK. Besides, now Poland has 3 Milion cheap Labour from Ukraine, just like UK had in 2006 when invited cheap Polish workers. UK didn’t wait like Germany for 10 years until wages come close to the West, no UK took 2 Milion Poles like slave labour from Africa Commonwealth, hehe- the difference is that 3/4 Poles returned back, Poland became wealthy, now UK needs more immigrants;) and they do have them! From Hong Kong! Look who floods London and buys skyscrapers at Vauxhall and Elephant Castle, Battersea sky rockets 50m2 cages for 800k£? Chinese from HongKong!
