I liked it, I LOVE "NTF" & searched 4 a live version, 1st one was straight up "Glitter OST" version, no live singing, obvious. I'm so happy I found her singing it live. Though one, to witch26071, I wish you'd said in vid description that it wasn't just NTF as you wrote, but this medley of NTF & Hero. Two, not sure why she's stuck these 2 songs together so often, they really have two totally different meanings, vibes & feelings to them. NTF is melancholy, sad, introspective(which I love, all), Hero is an upbeat anthem about how great we all are(great msg, just doesn't go with NTF IMHO). Thanks for the live video regardless of any critiques, btw.
*Correction: I see in the description you did say it was both songs. It is the Title of the video that says only "Never too far" live Super High notes. I was partially wrong and wanted to own it, sorry.
dont think this is lipped. mariah often has struggle face when she sings but, days when the voice is in really good condition it tends to look effortless. when i sing on days after a party i have to struggle a bit and you can tell but when im well rested and warmed up, it doesnt even look like im singing my upper belts.i think this is just a really good perfromance. her voice was better in this era then butterfly or rainbow.
01:51 that was so powerful and incredible, imagine she did whispering then breath in just 2 second before the high notes.OMG What type of diaphragm MiMis have.ONLY MARIAH CAN DO THAT ISWEAR no one 😭♥️🦋✨
well guys why fighting if she lip synch or not ,actually all singers lip synch on a concert or a " live show " , and well as you said its pre-recorded or whatever so if it is pre recorded then actually she should have sing it and record it in the studio , meaning she actually did it so stop the fight now and listend and appreciate the song -.-
at 3:49 she does her whistle notes but you can still hear her voice singing. I would say at the very least some of it is lipped. either way i dont think it matters. she's still an amazing vocalist.
This is totally live since it's Jools Holland, that show is always live. I'd love to hear Never too far 100% live without the Hero medley, this is the best version of the medley though
I think most of it was lipped but some of it wasn't for example the whistle when she transitions into Hero I definitely don't believe that was lipped and part of Hero was sang live not all but you can hear differences if you listen carefully. Can anybody tell me what show she was on? I know it was Jonathan Ross introducing her it could be his the Jonathan Ross show but I'm not sure it even existed then or did it?...
This isn't lipped. Listen carefully, the belts in first chorus are different from the studio version. They are shorter, but they are so well executed that the ressonance is similar. I think this performance is 90% or 100% live...
ok i won't comment if its lipsynched or not but where was the last part of the song 'never too far". she didn't belt it out. she removed and skipped it......
I am a HUGE Mariah fan and have to say that "Never Too Far" was lipped...any fan would know that "Never Too Far" sounded JUST like the CD recording here. "Hero" WAS live but I think the last whistle note at the end of it was lipped.
She is lip-syncing to a pre-recorded track or even the single version she released. Look at the end at 3:52 where she goes straight into the whistle from "nobody can take your place"...she hasn't done that since at least the Daydream era.
***** All singers avoid certain parts in more than one performance. Mariah has proven her talent countless times in live performances. She hasn't anything to prove anymore. Whistles are the easiest thing for Mariah even when she is having a bad day. Making transitions to Whistle notes is something she has been able to do since forver, she still has strong whistles live as she already proved. Her low register is now stronger than ever and her current belts are very good.
***** It's relevant. Nobody at this point should doubt Mariah's whistles. Even when she has been at her worst, the whistles notes are the easiest thing. That's the point. With all the transitions to whistle notes she has done until these days, it's ridiculous to talk about if she can do it, she has done transitions to whistle notes in recent years too.
This is totally live. Number one. I was THERE in the audience and remember this exact moment of hearing her actual voice on stage. And plus, if you look at 1:55 to 1:57, you can litereally see her vocal cords reflecting where she is taking a breath and releasing the notes ... and there are tons of other places throughout the performance where you can see that same thing! I have know idea why so many of you people swear this woman comes up with the time and energy and CARE to go and pre-record a track multiple times and save them for future performances. It literally makes no sense when she can just deliver the performance as an actual singer! How can you even be fan of a vocalist anymore if you don't believe their voice exists????
This is lipped, definitely the first bit (Never Too Far) and the majority of "Hero" as well. She mightn't have had enough time to rehearse or other technical reasons, or she was sick or on the monthly, who cares.....
#JusticeForGlitter
1:57 Loooove!
Thats was crystal clear live voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW I HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS AMAZING VIDEO BEFORE?! IN LOVE!!
i love you mariah carey!!
this is INCREDIBLE

I think as a visceral performer, living her music in the moment, maybe Hero served as a foil of the former.
dont think this is lipped. mariah often has struggle face when she sings but, days when the voice is in really good condition it tends to look effortless. when i sing on days after a party i have to struggle a bit and you can tell but when im well rested and warmed up, it doesnt even look like im singing my upper belts.i think this is just a really good perfromance. her voice was better in this era then butterfly or rainbow.
That's so true. people never observe about that. :l just try this.
Yeah its not lipped. You can tell in some parts, her timing is slightly off and notes don't trail away smoothly.
yeah.. and she nailed it.
NOBODDY SING LIKE MARIAH...
envy,envy everywhere ..
u must to admit that this is live, and mariah is .. FANTASTIC :)
Lip-sync? Really? Who cares!! It's still her voice :3 Love Queen Mariah!
Great performance. Bravo!
She’s just too good!
I always know when she lip sings it's just to controlled and practice... and she always hit high notes turning away from the camera
Live or not the fact us that MC is the best n#1
I love her
01:51 that was so powerful and incredible, imagine she did whispering then breath in just 2 second before the high notes.OMG What type of diaphragm MiMis have.ONLY MARIAH CAN DO THAT ISWEAR no one 😭♥️🦋✨

Her mom was an opera singer so that's why she can do those really high notes
PERFECTION
Super like!!!!!!!:-)
i love this video all emotions are intact here....k
Goo mariah
So whose is the lady that’s been back up singing for the past thirty years for Mariah!? That’s impressive!!!!
Mary Ann Tatum? Trery Lorenze was with her since her debut
Fuck the haters. This performance IS live and considering it is from the same year as her mental breakdown, she did an incredible job.
this is so real
i think this is the year that she start to change to nowdays mariah
well guys why fighting if she lip synch or not ,actually all singers lip synch on a concert or a " live show " , and well as you said its pre-recorded or whatever so if it is pre recorded then actually she should have sing it and record it in the studio , meaning she actually did it so stop the fight now and listend and appreciate the song -.-
Dae Stafford not all singer..try tovisit here in philippines then u will see the actualize vocal of our singer...
at A home for the holidys it was live, but this isnt and Im a fan of mariah from her debut album.. but anyway this was one of her best vocal era...
Ain’t a bitch living or dead coming for my queen!👸🏼
Sometimes with these Uploads.... the Audio and Video are not in-syc.
SUPER>

Thats the back up singer’s 😂😂😂
❤️❤️❤️
This is totally live since it's Jools Holland, that show is always live. I'd love to hear Never too far 100% live without the Hero medley, this is the best version of the medley though
totally live u can hear her breath while singing
It is live, some notes are more sharp than the original recording. Besides, if you took up recording in college (like I did) , you would know.
this is a real live !
I love Mariah...one of my favorite singers. zthose who know and have studied know that this is lip synced. No hate. Still love her.
why did she cut it when she comes to ending?? oh God my brain isn't functioning like i used to...
I think most of it was lipped but some of it wasn't for example the whistle when she transitions into Hero I definitely don't believe that was lipped and part of Hero was sang live not all but you can hear differences if you listen carefully. At live, she doesnt laugh, because she is concentrated
Which show was this in?
That is so hard to sing two difer songs put together and do whistel tones
probably a lip sync/ live mix. mariah's voice was suffering during the glitter and charmbracelet time.
malaia caley
roberto arthur it’s from France.
i can reach those notes !!!,no kiding!! and i¨m very very proud of it
Me too, I could reach those notes lol, but thats a green tea day lol.
Are you proud of your spelling
I am a HUGE Mariah fan and have to say that "Never Too Far" was lipped...any fan would know that "Never Too Far" sounded JUST like the CD recording here. "Hero" WAS live but I think the last whistle note at the end of it was lipped.
it's not. i have viewed at least 3 videos (i think different ones) that have exactly the same way of Mariah singing
She is lip-syncing to a pre-recorded track or even the single version she released. Look at the end at 3:52 where she goes straight into the whistle from "nobody can take your place"...she hasn't done that since at least the Daydream era.
+Jamaal A. Bivens This performance aside, Mariah has done transitions to the whistle register live many times after Daydream era.
Emanuel Guerrero She has a couple of times, but definitely not without a breath or some other type of phrase, and hardly at the end of a phrase.
Jamaal A. Bivens Whistles are the easiest thing for her. Watch her perform at Fallon 2013 for example.

Lol, i wasn't insulting her, i love them both. But you're not wrong when you say you're a witch ;)
this is not live and if you were to correct me then u cant blame me cause she always do lypsinc
o_o
This is NOT live, is the single version of Never too far/Hero, except for the middle whistles.
No,it isnt live.not never too far
It's lipped, Mariah looks so much more focused and into it when it's live
You're right! Ugh, I hate that!
it's live, if you listen carefully her voice is little crack some time!

Then theres no high notes
ahaha,,lip sync,, she sees to it when she lips breathing would be obvious so it wd sound live and to gve her cue wen to start...
Sing till your throat fall apart
flat ka jan??
hahaha. this is not live..
Why is she lipping? Mariah Pls stop to cheat us! We will love you even if you fail on your performance! Your a legend!
This is lipped, definitely the first bit (Never Too Far) and the majority of "Hero" as well. She mightn't have had enough time to rehearse or other technical reasons, or she was sick or on the monthly, who cares.....
she can't sing live anymore...is this one of her audio dubbing????? fuck!!!!
Her sqeals remind me of Ariana Grande.
I think this is lipped. She doesn't usually do the "too painful to" run live
nasan ang super high notes jan? flat nga eh lol!!!
Live. she didn't start this lip syncing nonsense until after 2003.
regine velasquez is BETTER!!!
