Honestly modeling glue might of worked. Technically fuses plastic back together again. I learned that it dissolves plastic when I used too much on a Fw190D plane I was building. the Fuselage was warped, so I used 'extra' glue, and some rubber bands to hold it together since it wanted to split open otherwise at the tail end. Well.... lets say.... it looked like part of Clay Face's body when I woke up the following morning.

If you have access to a pin vise (they seem to be easier to find now) you can also drill out the snapped-off joint by drilling the center of it and then pulling it out with a dental tool (or push pin). You *can* try to repair the joint using something like piano wire but beware that it's not really going to weight or movement, there's enough aftermarket joints now though that it shouldn't be a problem (except if you have a Kyon figma and the plastic in the wrists is breaking...).

I had a similar situation to my Drossel figma. Her shoulder was apparently known to be pretty weak, and when I checked mine, it's basically just waiting to snap at any moment. What I did to fix it was drilling the broken peg out, then I bought a Kotobukiya joint set. It fits pretty perfectly, and much sturdier as well if you know how Kotobukiya kits are.

Having collected a lot of these, luckily haven't had too many severe breaks. The flush breaks are the absolute worst though this was a really good tutorial for removing them without having too damage the hole or surrounding area itself. One of the more common breaks I've encountered though are the extensions of Figma stands snapping off overtime because of the tight fit. Not an issue with most, some are obnoxiously snug and prone to breakage. Also though most Figmas now come with an extra hand joint I feel they should also come with an extra neck joint as I've had to replace several over the years.

I remember when I first discovered figma when I was 13. I was a big fan of Black Rock Shooter and I found someone selling BRS and Strength for $30 bucks each and I begged my dad to get them for me for X-mas. He did but since this was my first experience with buying figma on ebay, we didn't know people sold cheap knockoffs. Needless to say; Strength's robot hands were so loose you couldn't pose them, her arms snapped at the shoulders, and the ponytail joints for BRS snapped as well. My plan was to remove the joints and just glue it back together. I was so arrogant and stupid that I used a drill and exacto knife to try and remove the peg from the arm only to destroy the arm, and tried to force the ball peg in the torso out only to make it snap further. If that didn't prove my stupidity enough, I tried supergluing the peg and joint back together only to wonder why the joint no longer moved. I made similar mistakes with figma so on learning very little from my mistakes until I saw Moon's Goofy Joker behind the scene video where he showed using a heat gun to easily remove the broken joints and swap them out. By then I had many figure i had never touched in fear of braking them. I felt so stupid to had not figured it out even though I used thermoplastics for cosplay pieces. Moon is a man of simple solutions with household tools and spare parts. I can still feel is handprint on my cheek, slapping sense into me. Still; thanks for all you do Moon.
P.S. I'm happy to see my custom skelly boy in the background during the heat gun even though no one will know or give a fuck. XD

What an informative video! I do have a question semi-related to it: How do you have so many Figma and figma related parts? I ask because they are usually very expensive or hard to find. I would love to have some that I could customize (make my own OC Waifu lol) so if there is a possibility of finding them more affordable I’m all for it. Even knock-offs seem to be kinda expensive and I got one as my first Nendroid years ago. Anyway sorry for the long message and as always keep up the great work!😃

I broke this very joint (shoulder) on a brand new UMP 9 a few months ago and this would have come in handy lmao. Cheers Moon

Noooo, my UMP 45 had the same thing, peg tore off the shoulder in transit.
Were you able to get a replacement or such?

What about hand pegs. Apparently Guts sword was much to big to be called a sword and would constantly fall twisting the wrist joint and one day when putting it back in place the peg broke off.
