I'm sure having a new kitchen will be money well spent. In regards to the bathroom - make do until you can afford to put in what you want. This will give you time to plan the best layout for a small bathroom. Happy New Year guys and thanks for the refreshing vlog.
Hi guys love the videos, you are rays of south Wales sunshine on these cold winter days! Shower over the bath for sure, then when your lads have grown, update to a huge walk in power shower! Love from Swansea x
I think the shower over the bath is a brilliant idea, you could even just get a new bath from b and q and replace when you can, the house looks amazing. good luck with new baby xxx
Its looking so good guys. Once that kitchen is in its going to be amazing. If you're at the end of your budget I'd do the shower over the bath for a temporary solution. Bathrooms always end up costing more than you think. Plus you get the chance to step back and have a clear design for it once the other bits are done. Now, 17:14 you've been doing what to each other?!? 😆
Shower over bath def wins in my view. Weve been without a bath for 10 years and i miss it. Of you do get rid of the bath i recommend a toddler bath. My 5 yr old still goes in ours. The pool cover is an actual pool cover. It should all slide back into the missing broken end piece. But you can also leave it over to use the pool in rain etc. Would have been an expensive one when new.
Wow!! You have done loads and it looks amazing!! As for the bathroom I will agree with Kayleigh and just put a shower over the bath for now as you have the biggest job going on in the kitchen. I can’t wait to see what it looks like! 🤗
Amazing progress guys! I lived in South Wales for 2 years, attending Atlantic College near Llantwit Major, and always loved Porthcawl! Can’t wait to see how you guys get on in the next week while! ❤️
looks amazing, you're flying through the renovation!! personally with the bathroom I'd add the temporary shower for now. bath is definitely needed with a baby.
Happy New Year to you all, awesome progress your making, loving Thomas's room, cant wait to see the kitchen, feel your pain with different size windows and blinds same in our house, think bathroom wise sensible answer is to make do shower over the bath for the interim, then make it sexy, and lloyds comment on entering the bathroom had me on the floor in tears laughing
Happy New year! The living room looks amazing and I think built in cupboards with open shelving in the recesses will finish it off. As for the bathroom, I would put in a shower over the bath. The renovations look great and you have both done so well in a short amount of time and especially as kayls is heavily pregnant.
Hi guys! You could use a P-shaped bath to give you more room as a shower over the bath, that’s what we had to do to squeeze it all in! I am a carpenter and joiner but live too far away, (Bournemouth), or would try to help you out with the kitchen! Just try to make do for now until you have the time and money to get exactly what you want! Don’t rush it. All the very best to you xxxx
That's a GREAT idea @SHawkeye007 !! We'll look into the P shaped bath as we hadn't considered it at all. Thank you! And thank you so much for the kind offer, shame you're so far away. Thank you! 🙏
17:18 do you have space for a seperate shower in a 1.4 x 1.8 room? the spacesaver tub barely fits as is (its been offset to neutralise the pinch-point between the sink, that would indicate space is at a premium) im guessing there is an airing cupboard/wall that can be knocked through ?
Love your channel, I live in Port Talbot so know Porthcawl well. That's a lovely house. Sorry to ask but where did you get that bed for your son? We want to move our two kids into the same room and that looks like an amazing bunk.
Hi new subscriber here from Cumbria, defo put a shower over the bath given the expenses at the minute then, when you can afford to redo it will be what you want, Happy New year
Thanks for commenting. Fully agree about the shower. Only thing is that we kind of need a bath for the new baby 😕 We love Cumbria! Kayleigh's family is from Longtown, near Carlisle so we're up there quite often 🫶
Special thanks to @tonybarnes9208 for all of the drone footage. He’s your friendly neighborhood drone-videographer-guy!

Great advice. Kayleigh just read this to me and said "That's what I think too!". Haha, guess I'm out voted! - Lloyd
Looking great so far, beautiful fireplace, cosy. ❤❤. Just subscribed. 😊
Tile looks great!

Yeah don’t worry about the bathroom for now, as long as it’s clean & warm ❤
I got shown this video and now I want to go back and see the rest. How random having a pool, but love the quirk 😂

Aw Kayls, you are absolutely glowing 😊
The living room fireplace looks gorgeous! ❤
Aww thank you @mazybee9149 ❤️ It sill has so much work to go but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, we hope! 🙏

The main bedroom looks nearly done! Good job!
When you put the shelves/ cupboards in the front room, write families name's/ date on the underneath, my late grandad did that when I was younger
Very good size rooms . Yes shower over the bath . That’s what I have ❤
Your living room looks so much better!
Diy kitchens are amazing quality, love mine.

Welcome Back Both, House is Looking Amazing! Happy New Year 🥳
Happy new year back to you too! And thanks for tuning in 🫶
It's looking great
Thanks! Slowly getting there 😃
Temp shower! Easyyy choice, save all the faff for after. Also, Thomas has the sickest room in the house so far!
I'm all for avoiding faff! Haha, we're so tempted to swap rooms but we wouldn't do that to him 😂😭

Thanks Lee! Wonky windows are such a paint, aren't they?! Lmfao Lloyd thinks he's SO funny! 😂
@lloydandkayls probably not helping us telling him he's made us laugh 😂

Thank you so much! We're so torn on the "Great Bath Dilemma of 2025". However, Uncle Tony came over today and thinks we might be able to have both 😮
Even better!
Great progress guys!
Definitely add a temporary shower. I almost choked on my tea, hearing Lloyd's comment when entering the bathroom!! 😉
Me too thought it was my hearing lol.Did you hear me and Kayleigh were mass debating with each other😂?
@@wendybishop2421 Exactly! It doesn't appear as "Mass debating" on the transcript though! 🤫
Lloyd said that intentionally! He thinks he's SO funny... he's not!! 😂
Over the bath shower for now looking good though xx

Great vlog, would spend on the kitchen and make do with existing bathroom with new shower over
Think we may have. Time is running out 😬 - Lloyd
Are you still living in your old house? You guys done amazing. Agree bath with shower over essential for postpartum mum and baby 😊
Shower over the bath! 100% it’s an easier job and then you can focus on the kitchen!! Amazing what you have achieved in such a short space of time!!
Its all looking great Happy New Year and best wishes in your new forever home ..
Thank you so much @pamking4850 and the same to you too!

Loving the vids and your teamwork. Deffo go for shower over the bath - cheaper and quicker until you have funds/time for a full refit. Good luck.
I'd do a shower over the bath for now, and then save up to create your dream bathroom later on ❤

The office is better!
Get some guys to help you with the covered the pool!

@ oh really not very far from me I’m in Workington however we also have a holiday chalet in Allonby it’s a beautiful coast
yeah if you leave metal items outside scrappy is likely to assume it's out there for them and take it unfortunately
❤
That was some storm. 😢😢.
You should have gone for a bay radiator you can still get there turn the heat will come out more radiators behind furniture it's not a good idea
Put a temporary shower over the bath for now xx
its all coming together but sorry i don't like black wood
Slowly but surely. Lloyd's Mum doesn't like black wood either but we have plans!
Put a shower head in the bathtub so you can bath the children, and you can take showers!
