2022 5 Loco Contest Part 27 First Fabricated Locomotive Shell

- We've got our first mock up of a totally fabricated locomotive shell. We drew this in the lab book and then made a template in Inkscape. Scrap acrylic is what we're using for the whole contest, but we had to make a test model first. So here's a first look at a Calf Unit made from acrylic.

Matt, excellent progress. I like the idea of your making a calf, especially for extra power in the yard. Rock on!!!
this was just the test run, the next one will hopefully be a big improvement!
60 days left. Then you have plenty of time. In 60 days you can do 27 entries. I was under the impression you had till the End of March. Your work is so advanced at this point, I am working on getting you an honorary Engineering degree. That inventing the wheel thing was really impressive to the committee.
I searched everywhere for a text book with at least some useful info about gear trains, but no luck. I can enter 5 locomotives, but a cow and calf count as 1. as long as I keep pushing forward, I think the best is yet to come!

What??? Elon Musk plans on living on Mars in 5 years. I think you should plan on going with him. Model Railroading needs to spread over the universe. And he might need some help making space stuff. So when is the contest? Get busy.
