I purchased the same car from Menards and found no issues with the couplers , however I have several other Menards rolling stock and have found many of them have coupler issues usually couplers that wont stay locked and wheel sets that need lubrication. Overall I think this car is one of their best offerings.
@@UncleSalty-nz5uk they are I feel. They are heavy. I purchased the weathered covered hoppers and they have the new trucks. Sometimes Menards rolling stock will wobble. The old trucks/couplers sometimes uncouple when operating but a rubber O ring to keep the coupler closed is the fix. I have quite a few Menards rolling stock and for the price they aren’t bad.
@@UncleSalty-nz5uk I have the coal hoppers in BNSF and they have the old couplers on them so I used the rubber o rings. I don’t do any uncoupling operations. I just like running trains around in my loops. I really enjoy conventional operations 👍🔥🙏❤️💪🇺🇸
@@RABSTRAINS Heck, I'll get the 4 pack. Can't beat the price! Thanks for the feedback! I have very little experience with Menards. I'm 100% conventional as well....
Fantastic review! I opened this email when it came in from Menards cause I thought the car looks pretty cool. I have had zero luck with the couplers so I stopped behind them. Nice job on the video! 👍
Great video! That is a cool looking car. I say run it with whatever, as long as you enjoy 😀😀 I don’t have a Menards near me so I don’t do the rebate when I order from them. I only have buildings from them so far.
Thank You! I do want to try one of their buildings! Might drive to the store to check them out. And yes, this car will pretty much be on at least one of the trains I'm running from now on!
I have some Menards stuff and like them for their uniqueness. I know they are known for coupler issues, so glad to hear yours ran well in different locations in the consist. I haven’t had any coupler issues either, but I don’t run them too often and when I do, there’s maybe 10 or so cars. I like that they offer paint schemes that the other companies may not offer. I will def keep buying them if there is something that catches my eye! 🚂😎

Right on. I appreciate the feedback. This is my first Menards purchase and I'm glad mine was an anomaly. I like it honestly.
Ah, those are their new trucks. The old ones leave a lot to be desired. Thanks for the review 👍👍👍
@RABSTRAINS Are the new hoppers any good? Saw the Burlington Northern ones and was intrigued 🤔

Thanks! So far so good on this unit. Time will tell on long term reliability....
Just subscribed number 100. That’s a interesting looking car 👍 Really enjoy your videos!

Great review! Man, that is a pretty cool and interesting car! Love the details on it! Awesome find! 😎
Thanks man! It's completely not what I expected. Might have to try some more. What do you think of their stuff?

@naxshack Very cool. Now I will definitely try some more of their stuff.
This would be the typical livestock car from the 1860 80s
@@bmeyer853 cool, thanks
Looks like it's pattern after a Circus car ? Elephant car?
@ifriscoman1 It's weird. I still like the car though
Think you could do a review of that SP Weaver Alco Century Uncle Salty?
Sure, any other ones?
And do you want it on the layout or test bench?
@@UncleSalty-nz5uk layout.
You got it. Give me a day or so.

Pretty neat car.
