I used E6 for about a year after buying the Mevo+ I really liked E6. As I didn't have a PC good enough to run GSPro when it first came out I stayed with E6, but GSPro is a different beast it's awesome. I do go back to E6 now and again. Great video.

I'm using GSPro with my Garmin R10 and working great! Just switched from E6 and loving it.

Gspro had an open api... Which means the community can write connectors for additional launch monitors. If you that I know for sure work with the open API are, Garmin R10 (I use this and it works great), gc2, gc3, skytrack. So it actually has great support for lunch monitors through the open API

@Travis Robison I was aware that GS Pro was open source but I didn't know about the open API. Is it relatively easy to use an API for a non-programmer?

@@golfdynasty for a garmin r10 user, its as simple as running a program off of github and connecting to gspro as you would e6. its dead simple

@@golfdynasty It is a pretty straight forward installation. I would recommend checking out this channel. youtube.com/@JLagGOLF A lot of info about the R10. There are some videos he shares about direct connecting the R10 right to your computer or GSPRO. With that another developer has putting working on the R10 with a web cam.

@5:16 if you select the Icons instead of list view, it will show thumbnail of the course. I don't actually own the software or any launch monitors yet. I will be selling everything I own to buy one soon.

Really enjoyed your video thanks. GS Pro seems like it's the choice for now. Hoping it keeps improving. Currently researching for a full home sim build in late 2023.
Going ceiling mounted so considering either Forsesight GCHawk, which is rumored to be doing a deal to support GS Pro, and Uneekor EYE XO. Any thoughts or other recommendations?
    - does GS Pro show Club face impact Data or picture?
ie open/closed & where on clubface
Or is that determined by the Launch Monitor?

    • @golfdynasty
      @golfdynasty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

im glad you ejoyed it - also thanks for the support
im sure both options would be an excellent choice with more than enough data points and accuracy. My only reservation about the GCHawk is how exclusive foresight is with the software. I personally dont like the idea of buying into a launch monitor at the GCHawk price range and being locked into one software option that may grow stale or lose its edge to a competitor with time and me not be able to make a switch. hopefully foresight does decide to work with gs pro and even e6 connect down the line. other than that, I think both are solid options if you are set on a ceiling mounted monitor. for my next monitor im considering the uneekor XO but havent made up my mind yet because i like having a portable monitor like my flightscope.
to the best of my knowledge, the clubface data and visual isnt directly integrated into gs pro however it can be seen on the separate, launch monitor data window that has to be brought up manually if the launch monitor provides that information.

For commercial purposes do you think E 6 is better? I mean because in a commercial space sometimes you will want to have your shot data storaged.

i would agree with that. E6 has a simpler user interface, its less glitchy and yes you can easily add player profiles into the software to keep track of their handicap, etc. another big perk that E6 has is that it’s compatible with Pinseeker which is a golf betting game with closest to the pin modes that can keep your patrons coming back for more. I use E6 for pinseeker all the time

Any idea how to get GSPRO to work with Skytrak?

jarod, there is no official integration but if you are willing to do a little extra work you can make it work with a device interface. heres a video that might help if you are interested in doing that m.th-cam.com/video/b0QdD000F8E/w-d-xo.html

Also been using E6 Connect since 2020 in my garage sim (on Mevo+) but their support has been pretty much useless.. They don't care about non-commercial customers and the fact they say they don't support AMD just because they didn't test it is just lazy. It's a DX11 software and should be compatible out of the box if done properly. If you listened to their rationale then we wouldn't have a gaming industry! I know they are moving on and probably don't care to put development time in this offering as they are actively working on the next engine rebuild (codenamed Apex) but that's still sad. I'm switching to GSPro until then. But I migth give Apex a try when it comes as it's got GSPro easily beat in terms of graphics and I find their courses more polished vs the average custom made ones on GSPro. But I agree that E6's colours look more arcadey. I tried GSPro and regardless of resolution (4K does nothing for realism by itself), I found it had kind of low resolution textures overall which makes it look more bland.

well said stephane. you would think with how long E6 has been around it would have no competition from the GSPro but thats simply not the case anymore

Have you tried Apex yet? I downloaded the program, paid my $300 and couldn’t run the program😳 Thought I had a beefy computer but you need exactly what they list under system requirements or BETTER to run the program. I chose E6 Connect for the same reasons as you. TruGolf did refund my money…classy.

@@Skyking6976 Nope. I'm not giving them my money... Plus I don't care to pay more than GSPro for a lot less courses. I love eyecandy but at the price of GPUs I'm not upgrading just to pay more on courses.

Always disliked the way E6 looked for its cost. Looks like old video game graphics not something still being updated in 2024.
