This is why I love this channel. Whenever fans and the media talk about MJ, its all about the dunks, game-winners and championship but it's never about how smart, skilled and fundamentally sound MJ was.
This is my new video to show people if they contest MJs GOAT tag. He does everything so well, you can't stop him. 1v1 impossible to stop as he's too smart, he will watch your read and pull out something else. Even 2v1 he can do the same and with finishing. Or hit an open man. Great video.
Kareem is the only one. You gotta understand the "Sky Hook" was the most unstoppable move of all-time. It was the most skilled move becuase NOBODY else even tried to do it. Why? Only he could and it got him to six rings like MJ but more MVP's(6 to 5) and Kareem faced more comp. He played against or with the likes of Oscar, West, Wilt, Dr.J, Pistol Pete and Bird, Magic, MJ and Hakeem. For 3 decades he average 25 points, 11 boards and over 2.5 blocks and shot 56% from the field and man records he set weren't registered because the NBA didn't keep certain stats or had awards back in the 70's and earlier like Defensive Player of the Year or blocks. I'm 35 and from the Westside of Chicago so MJ is my GOAT but is he undisputed? NO!
+Chilanta MJ also had an unstoppable move. There was was not just one in the NBA, moron. Calm your anger erection. We don't want to hear Paul Bunyan tales. Show the actual footage of Kareem being better than Mike or stfu. If you love Kareem so much, then stop watching Jordan. LMAO! Kareem must not be that great, if you are here.
Chilanta magic Johnson sky-hook was pretty awesome too. And I agree with you to an extent.. Personally I think the #1 most deadly move is a tie between Jordan's post up fade away.. And the sky-hook. I'm getting old, and the generation that came right after mine is like blown away by Kobe's post moves and fade away, failing to realize Kobe learned all that by watching Jordan, and not only that but Jordan did it so much better. That's why I think his signature move is arguably the deadliest ever.
Damn. After you see MJ it's almost like you don't need to see any more attention to details because he had everything in his game. Keep up the good work.
True despite not being a high percentage 3 point shooter or even shot that many 3s in his career, his midrange game was so effing good, he was nearly unstoppaBULL. His fundamentals were so on point he was a nightmare to handle on the offense and defensive side of things. A real two way player.
True, he was so effective going to the basket and with his post up and mid range that he didnt really it. Plus the game of those times didnt really demand for a great 3 pt shot as much as it does now.
I remember MJ as a freshman in college and to this day it's the same reaction, he's the greatest, most athletic and aesthetic, and the only perfect athlete I have ever seen. He was the only one who mastered the game. The ultimate skill, will, athleticism, giant hands, hangtime, coordination, mental game, finesse, instincts, creativity and blessed with the perfect aesthetic physique/proportions for basketball in one package. It will never happen again. No one has ever come close and no one ever will.
No wasted movement. That was key. That's why he didn't need unnecessary displays of ball handling gimmicks. Someone once said that it was easy to guard MJ because he make quick moves. So he'd kill you quickly so you didn't get too tired "defending him". One other thing MJ used to do was that when he saw a double coming, he would move in the direction of where the double was coming. Sounds counterintuitive but really smart. The double wouldn't be able to recover and he would create a "screen" and block off the primary defender. Killing two birds with one stone.
I said this exact thing to someone telling me Iverson was better at ball handling. Better or worse I don't know, but Iverson size's made it more difficult for him to bypass a good defense and that's why he had to do all those fakes and gimmicks, in which he was so good at, but often involved a lot more movement. Jordan was an entirely different case, being so quick, effective and not wasting any movements, he often just needed one move or fake to bypass whoever was defending him.
Damn, that’s actually true. That infamous dunk on Ewing actually started that way. As he drives in from the side, there’s the double team, and indeed he steps back. Gave him just enough distance to just pirouette around the double team and right into the dunk.
Jordan was a basketball scientist of the game. His passion fueled us all with amazing dances and delightful dazzling displays of sportsmanship on the court. I miss them wonder years. The game isn't magical without him ☺️ we love you MJ.
So amazing, a lot of this footage I haven't seen before. He had unreal control of his body, this is something I don't think you can teach...he had this ability even in his days at Chapel Hill. The GOAT!!
It's hard not to acknowledged his GOAT status, very educational thank you. I love this channel, I'll hit the park in a few hours and I'll try to incorporate his footwork in post. This makes me think of a classic clip where Kobe asked MJ about the post, he told him you want to read with your feet. amazing.
I've been watching since your first video. Your content is top notch. Everything from the analysis, editing, and music. I'm surprised ya haven't already hit 100k, but I can guess it'll be no time until that happens since you're consistently pumping these videos out. When I get notifications of your videos on my phone, I ask myself "when does this dude sleep?" Hope to see more! Cheers brother.
MJ's postgame is still underrated to most of the world. Watched Bulls hoops since late 70's. If you were a true local, MJ's patented post move was up there with his dunks. Splash!
The funny thing is that MJ got props for his post ups in his second coming, but dude was already posting up with devastating results before that and even in college.
Kenny smith always said that being fundamentally sound and very athletic made MJ special and GOAT. He is the most athletic and best technical basketball player at the same time. It's like combining duncan and carter in one marriage
Makes you wonder where all that nonsense of "Jordan didn't have to face double teams!" comes from. Great video, I like how you highlight his great passing. He was such an effective and efficient scorer that his team was usually better off him taking the shot, which is rare; you don't see many scoring champs win titles, and he was for all his 6
i remember that,, it was when they adjusted their lineup and after 30 games (i forget it) they changed it again to his original position but the stats was already created and it was a ridiculous stats
First person i've seen that brought up his incredible eye control. So many players are staring at other players, or down at their feet and don't have their head up working the defense.
What made jordan the goat along with his mindset is he never overcomplicated things. Unlike many kids today who dribble as much as possible jordan would uses as few dribbles as he could. He didnt have any flashy dribble moves, if he didn't beat you with his non dribbling moves he would use simple crossovers. This is and his mindset make him the goat
Au u don't understand how much this has helped me it's improved my game so much I have watches this and no exaggeration hundreds or maybe thousands of times next time u hear my name it will be either in the 2020 draft or 2021
I remember a discussion from the NBA OpenCourt crew about how MJ was so great because he was the first incredibly good athlete who was also so sound in the fundamentals... and this is so right.
This track goes so well with the topic. Old school and fundamentally sound. Listening at 0:56 where the commentator says “Michael is on fire now” was perfect for the beat drop 😂. Aside from that this video was amazing. Love the detail given to Jordan’s underrated moves and techniques.
The young Jordan would turn and blow past everyone to the basket. lightning quick and as explosive as ive ever seen. Him adding a sweet fadeaway only added another notch to an already unstoppable scorer
wow thank for upload very great vedeo i enjoy it very much i hope some kids watch this vedeo to inspired to make him like another michael jordan move someday ....

That 9th wonder beat makes this so damn amazing. Plus it adds to how cerebral Jordan really was on top of how insanely athletic he is. You have a new fan and subscriber.
His defense wouldn't work now-a-days, most of his defense involved illegal hand checking. Plus, look at how great his defense did against new dynamic ball handlers like Allen Iverson, all respect to Michael, but Allen Iverson crossed him the fuck up with a simple crossover. You're better off studying the true goat, Kobe's defense.
Sterlin Jordan Watered down poor man version of Jordan? Explain to me how this Watered down version of Jordan scored 81 pts in on game, scored more points than Jordan in his whole career and has a better percentage than Jordan at the three? Kobe is a better defender than MJ. MJ needs to handcheck in order to contain his man, his defense was already exposed when the hand checking rule came about and he had to defend next level ball handlers like Allen Iverson. Imagine what Kyrie or Stephen would do to MJ, that's a tragedy.
The shimmy fake is not faking with shoulder and head only. Pay attention to both his knees. His lower body usually changed position to the counter direction, too. When another player tries to double team, he actually tried to find the closest open space available on the court. Many times, MJ just moved towards the helper before he arrives. It all depends on if there is any other defender nearby and how difficult for defenders to recover and help. His technique is second to none. I always found something new when watching them over and over again and after trying to apply some of the principles to my play. When you try it yourself, even just in practice, there is always something more detailed emerged. And my respect for him keeps going up every time.
Those double clutch jumpers are all eye control man had focus, Just look at how many players even really good ones don't locate the rim on time. Jordan knew what to look at.
As I've always said, MJ is the only player in league history with BOTH Supreme athleticism along with Supreme fundamentals. Most great players probably had one or the other.
Ryan STARTED THE FYIAHH - who steph? He's a good pnr pg but certainly not the best. And especially not the best historically in terms of the pnr either. Certainly he had a ton of pnr called for him but that doesn't make him the best at it.
One thing i never understood was how Kobe could be smart enough to take all the incredible fundamentals of MJ's game but not use the glass nearly as much. It's most likely the single reason his career FG% isn't as good. Jordan's use of English was simple and everything
This is a fantastic breakdown. Not merely focusing on his amazing athleticism or just throwing together fluff and narratives, but actually coming with an tangible and insightful breakdown of the skills and tactics Jordan employed on a night-to-night basis. This more than any highlight tape shows why this guy is the best basketball player ever. No holes in his game to speak of, on top of mastering the game at a level higher than anyone I've seen. High volume/high-efficiency/low-turnovers, increased his load in the playoffs with no drop in efficiency. No weakness the defense could reliably exploit. The ability to dominate on-ball and off-the-ball. The ability to play within a system, to plug holes in the team, to anchor an offense and defense from the perimeter. Ferocious one-on-one defender, no mental weakness to capitalize on, a game that was resilient enough to be effective at any point of any game in the season, from Game 1 to Game 6 of the Finals. The ability to raise his game when it counted. 6-0 isn't it, 50 point games aren't it, the shoes aren't it, the dunks aren't it, the buzzer beaters aren't it. Those things are all a byproduct of his overall game. It's a genuine disservice when people make Jordan out to be a product of media hype. It really is. Honestly, I wish there was more stuff like this out there that shows the strategic and fundamental mastery he possessed instead of shouting matches that miss the point of what he was. Those things take away from what this guy was at his core; a basketball maniac who mastered every facet of the game. Magic said it best; "Whose game is it? It's Michael Jordan's game!"
Your passion for the game is contagious you got me subscribed. Hands down to everything you've done: from analysis to music to editing. Thanks for your work.
His talent was nothing but art , air Jordan the GOAT in basketball, I don’t think there will ever be a player who will play at the level Jordan did, Kobe and Lebron were good but not great. Jordan was just to good in every aspect of the game period... !!!
MJ also has top ability to rotate his body around the axis he picked. The dream has something similar. This made their spin-moves cover more distance to create more space. I actually think their techniques are very similar. Jordan's games from his last comeback are what makes him GOAT for me.
The most impressive in this video was not his shots, scoring, etc that we all saw thousand times; for me, it was the ability to find his teammates, I (personnally) never saw vids or herad comments about this side of his game. I learned something, so thank you; I didn't know your channel, you won a sub!

I love this channel. Thank you
Great video breakdown. This video gives us a detailed glimpse as to what MJ special.
awww yes!! thank you!!
Damm these attention to detail videos are amazing dude
Liked before the video started! Let's Go !
Mix of top notch fundamentals and top notch street ball skills with all time athleticism with great IQ and competitive relentlessness. G.O.A.T
Jordan had so much air in every shot which was so amazing when I watched him
Your passion for the game is contagious you got me subscribed. Hands down to everything you've done: from analysis to music to editing. Thanks for your work.
The greatest to ever do it
unbelievable. Master of his craft!
His talent was nothing but art , air Jordan the GOAT in basketball, I don’t think there will ever be a player who will play at the level Jordan did, Kobe and Lebron were good but not great. Jordan was just to good in every aspect of the game period... !!!
Love the little brother track in the beginning
Thank you !! 🙏🏼💯
MJ also has top ability to rotate his body around the axis he picked. The dream has something similar. This made their spin-moves cover more distance to create more space. I actually think their techniques are very similar. Jordan's games from his last comeback are what makes him GOAT for me.
keep doing these attention to detail vids man lol I love em 👍🏼👍🏼
Don't stop what you're doing man, really sick vids.
The most impressive in this video was not his shots, scoring, etc that we all saw thousand times; for me, it was the ability to find his teammates, I (personnally) never saw vids or herad comments about this side of his game.
I learned something, so thank you; I didn't know your channel, you won a sub!
Just found your channel great stuff man!
P.S. Can you do Timmy next?
Just wanted to give you a shoutout your putting up some of the best videos I've seen on all of TH-cam thanks for the great work
