Crazy to look back and see how Tmac was able to consistently hit difficult shots and execute tough foot work. I see where Fultz gets his hang dribble from.
Great analysis as usual. Question, have you've noticed the difference in the play styles of these players as they age ? I would like to see something that compares or shows what changes a player would make as they aged or came back from a serious injury but still remained successful. Like how explosive Wade was in the beginning to the more calculated and efficient scorer he is now. I think that would be interesting, what you think about that?
it's like a good TE playing receiver against zone coverage. slow and big but if he know how to play his position right fundamentally, and his body size physical attributes he can still make receiving plays oddly and weirdly enough like jason witten and obvi gronkowski and others. i think it's similar for players in basketball nba like pierce or even any player with good handles and ball security like curry or harden
That scissor move at 5:20 is crazy, I've never noticed that subtle simple move but it makes so much sense on how he was able to turn players hips and blow right past them. Unreal
I think it'd be beneficial to clarify what you mean when you talk about defenders' body/foot positions because I know I am one to take what you say too literally sometimes and if I didn't know better, I'd literally be looking at defenders' feet when I play. You could just talk about how defenders are shading you (soccer term), meaning which direction they want you to go, and whether or not they're not doing it well so you can exploit it. Great vid as always.
Incredible that things like the hang dribble or hand down man down we’re really propelled to the stratusphere by this dude first… yet he isn’t top 75 all time?!… I do not get the media … they clearly don’t hoop
I want to suggest Penny Hardaway for this Attention to Detail series !! His skill set & 6'7 frame at PG/SG was unlike any. Also why he got injured? Also Kawhi has transformed his game !! Good Shit haha
I know I'm late but the reason of his injury is because Orlando overwork him. He had a little injury at first so he didn't play many games, but the Magic let him play the ASG which made his case even worse. He needed rest, but Orlando made a really bad move 🤷🏽♂️
Probably the prettiest scorer EVER. Every move he made looked smooth and beautiful no wasted motion. Other guys may be better but no scorer made it look as good as mcgrady
he never care about how far or close he was with the rim/ 3pts line, the pull-up is always there. back then when 3s not yet a trend, he use to shot it from the parking lot. he and Arenas was nasty. thank you for this video, T-Mac is the reason in play basketball, Jordan is the reason i watch NBA.
We have to admit that T-Mac has solid fundamentals. But it seems that his type of skills is somehow unlikely to be duplicated via hard work, for example, his smoothness and his rhythm: his skills look so natural that you may not believe he acquires them from diligent practice. Probably, is that what we called talent?
My favorite player...just wish he had the work ethic like Kobe and didn’t injured. Feel like he should’ve won a ring in 05 or 06 with that Rockets team
Man this is so good. I felt sorry for T Mac, if he was in today's league and keep healthy, he's gonna be so deadly that those small forwards are gonna be irrelevant.
t-mac and yao should have owned the league from 2004-2009. that was the window where alot of teams got rings when kobe shaq wasnt together, boston and LA hadnt invented superteams and obviously the miami superteam wasnt made yet. shame injuries stopped what could have been at least a couple of rings.
0:30 ISO for Jumper 1:08 Hand down Man down! 1:38 Hang Dribble gets space? Shoot 2:10 Turned hips? Shoot 3:57 Rock them to sleep w/ between the legs 4:14 ... Delayed explosion 5:14 Scissors legs 6:11 reads opponent's Positioning early 6:42 seals, then turns & catches the ball 7:28 when forced left, uses Cross-step 10:48 on P&R, dribbles away from both defenders 🤣🤣🤣
BByAnyMeans, I know he's not a star or anything like that, but could you please do a short video about Kyle Anderson? He's so f.ing slow and his game seems so weird, yet he can get buckets and dishes like crazy.
also i like to say that tmac had what i call "functional flair" he didnt waste motion and any flashy move he did served a purpose he never over dribbled and his moves always led somewhere. never did something just to it but had an end goal in mind. nowadays a lot of guys just have a skills trainer template of dribble moves that go absolutely nowhere and just burn clock and get their teams out of rhythm, if mcgrady made a flashy move it was done with purpose
bruh if u honestly believe tmac better than kobe u don't know basketball. He was never better than Kobe but he could've been top 15 all time in a better situation
+Andrew Yin I will never understand why y'all have to point out insignificant typos when I'm trying to get these videos out for you guys as fast as possible 😂 appreciate the support though my man!
Seems to me mostly bad examples. Watch carefully you will see how even after all these amazing moves and fantastic techniques T-Mac still having to make very contested shots and facing multiple defenders. If it were an average player, even with the same moves he will still end up with rather ugly shooting percentages. Shooting while someone right in your face or driving through the traffic and magically finger rolling basket while six hands trying blocking your shot is a talent. It is what makes Players like Kobe and T-mac special
Also pains me to see Rashard and Hill were always injured … the pick and pop option, iso, and pick and roll scenarios would have been absolutely endless
Should this mention dude is 6'8 or 6'7 on a bad day. Plus being athletic. I mean the dude when healthy was one of the best scorers the game has ever seen
I was waiting for this one , he makes the game look so easy.
One of my favorite players of all time
Agree☝️
Don't need to be sad that T-mac didn't get a ring, we need to be thankful to see him just play 😊
he don't deserve a ring anyway.
Why do everyone thinks someone that puts up numbers deserve a ring? there r so many players that deserve a ring then
Daron Sutton that’s ironic
@@wallstreetzoomer ehh not rlly, t-mac is one of the best scorers that the nba have ever seen
Two time scoring champ. One of the biggest individual achievements possible
Crazy to look back and see how Tmac was able to consistently hit difficult shots and execute tough foot work.
I see where Fultz gets his hang dribble from.
My all time favorite NBA player. I still play old 2ks or nba live just to play the old t-mac.
I've never seen any footage of this man play until now and damn, he was a hell of a player
FINALLY 🙌🏾 next we need to see how Paul Pierce's slow ass got his buckets lol
he was surprisingly a pretty good slasher too
it's like a good TE playing receiver against zone coverage. slow and big but if he know how to play his position right fundamentally, and his body size physical attributes he can still make receiving plays oddly and weirdly enough like jason witten and obvi gronkowski and others. i think it's similar for players in basketball nba like pierce or even any player with good handles and ball security like curry or harden
yes please
He would constantly get to the kill box
Darryl cuz that nigga was so slow he actually went back in time
That scissor move at 5:20 is crazy, I've never noticed that subtle simple move but it makes so much sense on how he was able to turn players hips and blow right past them. Unreal
Thank you so much for this. He was my favorite player to watch growing up.
The production value in these videos is also improving so much. Kudos!
I've been waiting for this one my whole life
Whenever I get a notification from this channel I'm prepared for great attention to detail and great instrumentals.
Sad that T-Mac didn't get a ring...
Kristers Manovskis he wasn't good enough to carry a team to a ring that's his fault
God Usopp facts
his orlando teams were trash
God Usopp nobody can do that
It's not that he wasnt good enough. He played 40 minutes a game most of his prime. His body was fucked up by the time the playoffs came around
I think it'd be beneficial to clarify what you mean when you talk about defenders' body/foot positions because I know I am one to take what you say too literally sometimes and if I didn't know better, I'd literally be looking at defenders' feet when I play. Great vid as always.
I've been waiting for this one a while. Thank you for making this.
yes! I've been waiting for this one for a while! Tmac is one of my favourite players of all time!
Incredible that things like the hang dribble or hand down man down we’re really propelled to the stratusphere by this dude first… yet he isn’t top 75 all time?!… I do not get the media … they clearly don’t hoop

Loved T-Mac's game!! 🔥🔥🔥

He made the game look effortless
kd definitely studied t-mac
Orlando t-mac was a blessing to see back then
Probably the prettiest scorer EVER. Every move he made looked smooth and beautiful no wasted motion. Other guys may be better but no scorer made it look as good as mcgrady
Incredible and concise; descriptive and accurate comment💯
About time 🙌🏾 favorite player off all time I still wear my one leg sleeve lol
Please do one of these on Isiah Thomas (the Piston), John stockton or Jason kidd
he never care about how far or close he was with the rim/ 3pts line, the pull-up is always there. back then when 3s not yet a trend, he use to shot it from the parking lot. he and Arenas was nasty. thank you for this video, T-Mac is the reason in play basketball, Jordan is the reason i watch NBA.
