    Wow! That was one of those “I can’t believe we did that” hikes! Lots of fun on a beautiful day and a really awesome challenge. Hey, when we have hiked over six miles already, we just couldn’t give up…..so just like the Little Engine That Could…….we made it! Thanks for another epic hike for the summer of 2021!!

    Congrats! I turned around where the trail ends & the rocks begin. I have thought about going back numerous times. Maybe I will some day. Thank you for posting!

    So glad you're able to keep doing these after that rough patch. I'm a student at CSU and while I'm studying I play your videos in the background for my hiking fix when I can't make it to the mountains. Thank you!
    Also, I would encourage you to monetize your channel when you get the chance; I can't donate too much on a college kid's budget but I would not mind at all watching a couple of advertisements. Your videos are worthy of a little something in return.

      I also play Nick's hiking videos through my tv while I paint. TH-cam plays his most of all. I've done 13 hikes in RMNP just since the end of July all because of the great descriptions and videos he produces.

    Fabulous hike, pleased you didn't take a hike fail amid the boulders. That's what my wife and I did in 1979. Now we have finally seen beautiful Lake of the Clouds thanks to you and your mother.

    Oh… that’s what did this Flatlander in attempting Longs (as my 1st 14er). Boulder field and 13300 ft. did this unacclimatized Flatlander in.. like I said earlier… made it to the Agnes Vaille shelter up there. I was happy. One month before walked up Guadalupe Peak in West Texas (highest in Texas) and said to self, “I’ve got Longs… Nope.” I will make it up again and try Bierstadt or Quandary. I’m 62. Thanks again for listening. Love You two hiking. Inspirational.

      Thanks, John! Im acclimated and hike all the time and Longs still whoops me! Its a tough mountain. Making it up to the shelter is a hard hike by itself. Nearly 7 miles out and over a 3,600 gain I believe. Those are pretty serious stats! Thanks for watching. :)

      John. When we did the boulder field last fall to the Agnes Vaille shelter, I felt like I had conquered the world. When I looked over and saw what it entailed to get to the peak of Longs, I said…..nope. Ha. I’m 70 and did this hike to Lake of the Clouds, and it was most like the boulder field at Longs. It’s a grind, but so happy to get to the destination and it was “enough.” Thank you for your great comments on Nick’s work.

I hope they name a trail after You two one day. “Barb and Nick Sangetta trail.” I hope it’s tough too! Thanks again for sharing mountain trails with this Texan Gulf Coast flatlander.

    Thank you for this video! We are backpacking for July 4th weekend and I thought about taking a bit to do this while on the way to skeleton gulch from valley view but those boulder fields look a little too tough for the amount of snow that will prob still be there

    • @nicksangetta8874
      @nicksangetta8874  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be totally snow free by July 4. I just got back from RMNP and its BLAZIN HOT today! Like 80 degrees.. its 100 in Fort Collins. So whatever snow is up there aint gonna last. We did not get any snow until about 10,600 feet on a north slope today. But yeah.. those boulders in that gulch are rough. Thanks for watching! Good luck on the trip.

    You need a fly rod in your pack, so many fisherman love high mnt lakes. You could have a fishing channel as well with a little effort (compared to that hike).

    Congratulations! I've attempted it before but didn't make it. Once we got to the rock field the cairns were very difficult to follow and I was going off of a book and not feeling great about taking the right route. Watching this definitely makes me want to get it done someday! We also saw ptarmigan near the grand ditch road so they must really like it around there.
