When you add into that that anything more than very basic refurbishments cost almost as much as introducing new rolling stock, and your answer is that we need morern units. When it comes to locomotives its different; but the situation there is simply that passenger locomotives are no longer a thing for 99% of routes, so the underfunded rail freight industry has simply made do with the BR stock they have until they're forced into change. Sure, older BR locos can be upgraded to house much more serious power units, but that only works on routes that can handle heavy locomotives, and for routes that are partially electrified the lower running costs and lack of trouble with spares and reliability of new bi/tri-mode units means that they're the only new locos trickling onto the tracks of late. why does it want lots of info when i download it, it probably isnt bad, but why do i have to enter my address to download it? is there a way to avoid that?
@@GSCFemboy you can absolutely just fill it with nonsense for things like the address- just don't use a temporary email, use a fake country or anything like that since you may have to log in in the future. Davinci is literally used by everyone from Hollywood studios to the BBC, they're legit as you get.
@@BritishitRailPosting Ahh right thank you for that.
Can you make an british transport from the 1980s with the song ,cooler than me,
@@KTTGAV395 I'm not sure I'll be using that song- give it a go yourself!
@@BritishitRailPosting ok i try
Would I be able to make a video similar to your style of videos about the Class 43?
Go for it! I'm more than happy for people to use a similar editing style to mine.
@@BritishitRailPosting Thanks, I just wanted to make sure that you wouldn't mind.
0:49 Is this still a used part of railway ?
It will be yes since the 15 guinea special ran from Liverpool to Carlisle over track that's still very much in use today.
@@BritishitRailPosting Thanks was just Curious
what font did you use for the intro? its awesome
It's Gill Sans- a now publicly available font which British Rail standardised on after seeing it used by some of the "Big Four" in the age of steam. It's what came before the Rail Alphabet font which is what you usually see in my videos.
@@BritishitRailPosting Thanks dude, you seem very well informed with British Railways - thanks for the response
Where do you get the footoge for all of these videos?
In this case the BFI player.
@@BritishitRailPosting Ok, and in other cases?
@@Zugdurchfahrt311 TH-cam, KinoLibrary, whatever I can scrounge up
@@BritishitRailPosting Thanks
Is the footage from the first and last clip from the Fifteen Guinea Special?
I'll be honest, I have no idea! Crowds certainly suggest it was some form of special, if even the guinea one.
@@BritishitRailPosting Ah I see.
I thought it might've been as the engine looked like a standard class 7, some of the coaches are in the 1965 standardised livery and theres a lot of people standing around the tracks watching the engine. That made me think it mightve been the fifteen guinea special
edit: just checked wikipedia, it might be, theres a photograph which looks like its from the same location as the final shot of the engine going across the viaduct.
The coach formation is consistent with 1T57. Furthermore, 70013 and 45110 (which both worked 1T57) can be clearly identified in several shots.
May I ask what font you used for the beginning?
Gill Sans! The first BR standard font.
@@BritishitRailPosting Thank you so much
how to make these EDITSSS PLEASE
also the "Diesel and Electrics won the peace, Steam won the war" sends shivers down my spine
Davinci Studio! I just collect high quality source material, then make sure the cuts all align with the beat in some way. Rather simple style, really.
@@BritishitRailPosting awesomeeeeee
Let's see which named engines I can spot.... "Oliver Cromwell", "Singapore", Papyrus", "Commonwealth of Australia", and naturally "Flying Scotsman".
Sir Nigel Gresley in there too!
@@BritishitRailPosting Aye, true; couldn't tell which the Peppercorn, the other A3, or that second A4 were, mind.
I "think" that it might be "Golden Plover" though.
what world beating diesels?
@@ashermccready 125 if you count it since it's a Diesel-Electric, but really that was more a reference to the quality of the locos rather than speed records.
I think I need to raid your archives, all this footage is incredible! 🤌🏻
All on the BFI player!
