There is a star in the heavens, named Lalande, and it certainly shines down on your chateau. There really is, about 6th closest to Earth. Anyhow, this was very romantic setting and those hats set it off in a very 1920's Flapperish style. All in all, a superb presentation. Blessings to all there.
Isabelle, my grandfather had a very posh hat shop in Amsterdam, de Prijslijst. He designed hats for the Queen of Holland in the 1930s & 40s. My mother told me about the trips she would take to Paris with her father to check out the latest Paris fashions. I wonder if your great-aunt and my grandfather ever met!?
Barbi Button actually, a few years ago, when my mother was still living, she was contacted by a curator at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, they have some of the hats from my grandfather’s shop in their collection, and they were having a special exhibit which included those hats! The front cover of the exhibit book was a photo of one of his hats as well, so exciting for her ( and all of us)

I became so emotional at the addition to mummy’s china set. All of this because she bumped a coffee pot. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing the thoughtful gifts people send. This must be such a dramatic difference to the days when there was hardly anyone at the château and there were limited funds to do repairs. Now there are delightful things to fill the rooms and the opportunity for guests and work-always to enjoy them with the family Stephanie has built. My home is much smaller, but the way everyone who enters becomes part of the family reminds me of home, where we welcome anyone and involve them immediately in whatever shenanigans we are getting up too.

There is an Antique shop in London and they make and sell those beautiful dolls to adorn Xmas trees, they are totally hand made and simply exquisite , adorned in beautiful antique fabrics , I think the shop maybe in Richmond !
