- MENORCA 2021: Our first trip to Spain during CoVid 19 Pandemic. Initially a trip intended for May 2020 we were fortunate to use our flight credit and rebook it for this year. Despite a significant amount of documents we needed to obtain last minute because of US Citizens travel restrictions to Spain back in May (plus flight changes shenanigans 2 weeks into our trip) we finally were able to make it to the Iberian Peninsula! Going back to the Balearic Islands and especially starting our vacation in Menorca (our favorite!) was a true blessing. Menorca is one of 4 islands which compose this archipelago in the Eastern coast of Spain. Menorca's name derives from its size, contrasting it with nearby Mallorca. Menorca's "low- key" vibe characterizes it because of much less tourism/less developed in comparison to Ibiza and Mallorca. Declared by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve back in 1993 this island has more beach coastline compared to Mallorca/Ibiza with over 200 coves (calas). One of the many reasons why we love it so much is not only for its pristine beaches but because you are guaranteed to find peace and quite somewhere, even in the high season. You can also hike through most of the island's coastline not to mention cycling. With is quaint rural towns and beautiful megalithic stone monuments (indicating very early human pre historic activity) I can truly say this place is a nature lover's paradise! Last but not least, not only I was able to video document our journey using my new DJI Pocket 2 but also was my first time doing air video/photography with my new DJI Air 2S gadget and I love it. Hope you enjoy it and consider this destination in your future travel adventures. CHEERS!
