I've come at this a year after this video was published- brilliant talk! I envy and admire what's being done in Scotland. Where is "Rewilding Britain"? "Rewilding England", "Rewilding Wales", "Rewilding Northern Ireland"? How about rewilding urban areas to some extent as well as planting more trees and shrubs and generally creating more green spaces? This solution could reduce the unnatural flooding most people are experiencing up and down the country, it's the most accessible and do-able form of CO2 removal.
The Welsh sheep farming lobby have too much power for Wales to make any real progress on wildlife restoration. We don't even eat lamb in Wales to any great extent, it's almost entitely for export and is apparently completely dependant on public subsidy. So, we are obliged to pay out of our taxes for a completely denuded wildlife for the sake of feeding someone else in an industry that claims to make no money.!
The lynx is the best animal to start the rewilding process hopefully you can get the landowners on bored.Scotland also need more forest in the high country. 🐺👍
What a great talk. Really moved me.
All the luck in your marvellous evdeavour

Trees and scrub are a must first. Not enough woodland.
