Strike King Bitsy Minnow VS Gulp Alive Minnow - Fishing With Minnows!

  • Today I am fishing the Strike King Bitsy Minnow vs the Gulp Alive Minnow. Fishing with minnows can be fun and rewarding, when you choose the right minnow. Hearing of other fishermen's success on the Bitsy Minnow, I just had to try it. Well, I didn't even catch one fish! After switching to my confidence bait, the Gulp Minnow, I started catching fish. As a matter of fact I caught one on the first cast using the Gulp. I am sure the small crankbait has its time and place but it wasn't today at this lake. Bitsy Minnow vs Gulp alive? Gulp Minnow is the clear winner today! #fishing

I have a few of those bitsy minnows they're great for moving water - creeks, shallow rivers, the base of water falls, culverts/drains/spillways - places where bait fish might be swept away in a current and easily ambushed. Not so much pressured lakes or ponds unless you're just after sundown or just before sun rise. I'm liking the small lure vibe this channel's developed lately. tight lines, man!

We have some lakes with bluegills like that here in SE Wisconsin. None of them can be caught from shore though. Right now we're getting them on the bottom in 42-48 feet deep. PIA, but they are pretty nice fish. Gotta keep every one cuz they are basically dead from the pressure change. Seems like you have access to some really nice shorelines. Ours are all sowed up by land owners. Wish we had more shore access.
