Hello! I did this video before Tim Holtz released his new foundry wax. They are different but will do a comparison in the future! www.jennifermcguireink.com/crafty-sales
I absolutely LOVE this Jennifer! What a stunning result and the metallics over your dark cardstock are so lush and opulent. The lace flowers are divine with this technique. Truly gorgeous xoxo
I went looking thinking I’m sure I must have some of these and I had the #2 kit. In the same basket I found a lot of pastel chalks. I would love to see what can be done with them. I think this needs to be called forgotten supplies. I think I bought some of the things from stamp conventions we used to go to down in Denver. You got to see representatives demonstrate these supplies and then you had to buy them. Thanks for these videos.
Wow! The reveal after buffing!! So amazing! Thank you for Offering videos that spotlight older supplies! ❤️. After 30 years of crafting I have all of them! :-)
I’ll bet your daughter loved having you all to herself. Nicole always asked what I wanted for birthdays and Christmas. I always told her I just wanted to make a memory. She might be gone now, but I have the most incredible memories. Whenever I get blue, I think of one of our memories and I know she’s here watching over me.
Hi Jennifer thanks for showcasing the metalic rub-ons again - great tip on reheating embossing after rubbing excess off. I still have mine from oh so long ago (*grin*) we utilised them for mixed media projects in the day. These were preferable to the other guilt rub-on products which were toxic. I think I will go and have a play with them now. Cheers.
I did some reorganizing of some drawers yesterday and pulled these out and told myself that I needed to use them! We must be on the same wavelength! Thanks for the push. :)
I love your cards. I used Gina K Happy Birthday die today and tried to add layers to the birthday and you make it look so easy!!! I know I just have to practice, practice, practice. I wish I saw your video first.
Thank you! I have a tray of those rub-on's but never learned how to use them, so they sat, lonely, in my stash until now. I can't wait to get them out and give them a go. :)
Thank you for another fun, inspirational video. I have one of these sets and forgot all about them. I am so glad you featured them. I've used the rub and buff also. I am looking forward to your upcoming comparison video of the new foundry wax. Can't wait to try that too. It is wonderful to have all of these shimmery options!
Happy to hear you took a break with your daughter! The cards came out beautiful! when you said you were going to use old products from your stash, my never used make up stash popped into my head... lol The search for crafty uses for old lipstick continues
I have had one of these rub-on sets for ages but never really knew what to do with it as I got it before I started making cards. Just been sitting in my drawer - so I just got it out to start using. LOVE this idea - such a beautiful effect!
Love this technique. I have these Gina K stamps and dies so will definitely try these cards. The photos on your blog really show the color and sheen of these cards. Just beautiful!
Thank you so much for this video. I have these in my stash from many years ago. Now I am inspired to get them out again. I'm so glad you had a nice break with your daughter.
I have had the rub ons forever and after watching this video discovered that I am not using enough. I will have to try it again. Thank you for sharing, Jennifer!
Thank you for this. I fell in love with metallic product over 3-D embossing folders on black card stock. I bought some really expensive rub-ons and they dried out almost immediately. I found these never dry out. You get me all excited to use them again
This is such an interesting look for cards! I’ve been making cards for about seven years, so don’t know of this material. I do have a tube of something called Rub n Buff which I used to change the look of a metal piece. I may give that a try on paper and see how it looks. As always, thanks, Jennifer, for your ideas and skill. 💌 💙 💛
Oh my gosh, have have 3 sets of these in my stash. Pretty sure I never used them. 😂 Thanks so much for these fabulous ideas. Love your videos so much. 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing this technique! I have these rub-ons and have tried using them in the past. I've never been quite happy with the result but I think I'm going to try your technique now. Thanks!
Thank you so much for bringing this product to my attention again -(got some in the back of a drawer) and thank you for your “take” on GinaK’s new stamp set. I was excited about it, ordered it, and when I got it wished I could think of more ways to use it. Your creativity always inspires me. Thanks for sharing.
I was just thinking about my Metallic Rub-Ons that I purchased so many years ago! How fun to see you using them to make such beautiful cards. Thanks for the inspiration! I was wondering about whether it would work or not, to clean your finger after each application, on a textured piece of cardstock before wiping it clean to create a background for a future card.
This looks great and isn't as messy as some other items. Have you done any videos or have any advice on using the downloadable graphics. What paper to print on, suggested programs to use etc..
Beautiful! Could you use the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons for this same technique? I know it wouldn’t be shining. Could you share some techniques using them. Thank you!
I brought a similar waxy metallic product years ago and could not figure out how to use it. So I am going to see, if it might work like yours. I was honestly going to throw them away or rehome them
Jennifer, you did a tip on cutting single sentiment strips with your paper cutter and a piece of paper awhile ago It made it easy to cut a small strip, straight and the right size.. Could you tell me which video it was? I have been rewatching your videos to find it, but there are only so many hors in the day...lol. It was a great tip, but I can't remember how to do it. Thanks and have a great week.
So excited to see you use Gina K kits....I even have both of the ones you used today! That rub-on is so pretty and uncanny how this video came out on the heels of Tim’s new Foundry Wax. Are these rub-ons Wax based? I have lustre waxes and Prima waxes, do they work in a similar fashion? Seeing a comparison video will be super helpful. One more interesting thing I thought....the card you made on the plum cardstock with the lace flower stamp....it looks like old Victorian wallpaper! Super cool! TYFS! ❤️🦋💜
Hi I didn't think August would be too late to follow your product links to acquire any of the products used in this video, but when I tried to use a link to chase up the Gina K 'Lets Celebrate' kit, the link came up with 'page not found'. Is that because this kit is no longer available? I love the technique, it's brilliant, particularly the blue and the antique look maroon ones. Gorgeous!
Gina's kits are available for a limited time. When they sell out they are gone. However, when the next kit comes out thee components from the previous kits go on sale ala carte.
Another point related to the May kit, do you think/know if the 'HAPPY' die and shadow will or is going to be available as a single set on Gina's site any time soon or ever? I would be very interested in purchasing that as I have managed to get the 'birthday' die set from SSS and really liked the look of the 'happy' die and it's versatility? Sorry for the long winded question, but your use of it in the video really resonated with me and the way I like to use dies also. Ros
I’m really laughing out loud! I not only have these from years ago, but I pulled mine out last week. Is that not weird? Even though newer products have come out, I fall back on these. I keep mat spray on hand to set them when done. Love your technique & cards.
Very pretty! I’m wondering if there is a tool you CAN use, if you don’t like getting your fingers messy. I’m wondering about finger daubers? Thanks so much! 😊❤️
These are stunning. Plaid Enterprises had a metallic wax rub on many years ago. I still have some of them and they are now close to 30yrs old, but still work fine. These products will seal themselves with the wax and then when you touch it, your body heat melts the seal and you can use them forever.
WOW i've just clicked on this video after finding one of these while I was clearing my craft room. I didn't have a clue what it was as there was no makers name or description on it
What do you use to get the embossing powder off the dark card stock? And what is in your anti-static tool? Do you fill it yourself? I'm having trouble getting the anti static powder removed from dark card stock
I used the Rabbit Hole Designs anti-static powder tool. Love it. They do sell refills if you need them. Just keep rubbing the paper lightly with a paper towel or soft cloth to get the powder off.
@@jennifermcguireink thanks Jennifer for replying. I'm sure you're very busy so I appreciate the time. I just love your videos. I'm only new to cards but I've learnt so much from you. 💞
I had these years ago and wound up giving them away because they seemed never to dry fully. I'm a lot happier with Pebeo gilding waxes, but wish it were possible to have colors.
Does anyone remember and have knowledge of a product called Luminare? If so, how are they to be used? They appear to be similar to mica powders. I believe I purchased them through Stamin' Up! nearly 20 years ago. I'd like to put them back to "work."
I brought the card kit and the sunflower stamp set. I didnot realize it was digital. That would explain the really cheap price. I am happy to help but sadly I dont use a printer so I am bummed I didnt read it was digital. Feeling very dumb now.
Love the cards. I always stay clear of double stamping as no matter how careful I am I always seem to shift my cardstock and end up with a blurry image. 😢

These cards are GORGEOUS!!! Thx for Rub On supply info. It looks stunning. Thx for video.

I have the old, old, rub-ons that I never used and I will have to pull them out! I have also gotten this kit from Gina K. Thanks for the ideas!!!
I have those!!! Awesome - I’ve had these about 22 years and still haven’t run out
I do have some in my stash! I forgot all about it and look forward to seeing other ways to use them! Thank you, Jennifer!

Seeing this product makes me think I might have some somewhere in a stash somewhere! But now can't remember so will have to go hunting! So beautiful!
I have couple. I thought they were too old but still working. They truly are RUBB ons.
Thank you for sharing your talents and techniques with us. Your cards are all absolutely beautiful!!!
Hi Jennifer thanks for showcasing the metalic rub-ons again - great tip on reheating embossing after rubbing excess off. I had seen these and wondered how they work. Thank you for the video.
Can’t wait to see you use these on embossing folders. Thanks Jennifer!
That will be gorgeous! Just a hint of luster
Wow Jennifer, these rub on pastes are fabulous. Great cards. Thanks so much. 😊
Can’t believe I have them all! Pays to be a craft hoarder. I hauled them out at Christmas for some cards and now this awesome idea! Thanks.
Fantastic cards! I have 2 of these metallic rub ons in my stash. Looking forward to making some cards with your inspiration. Thank you. 🇨🇦
I think that your cards are so so gorgeous!
I'm so glad you had some quality time. ❤️
Jennifer, I have the metal pants, I’ve never used them for cards, now I can’t wait. This will start a new trend I’m sure. Tfs
Love the double embossing technique and the reheating technique! Thank you so much.
What’s old is new again! Thanks for memories! Beautiful cards! I

I have a couple of those metallic rub on trays from years ago and barely used them. I will be getting them out soon. Thanks for the awesome examples.
Beautiful samples, great technique, thanks for sharing your talents Jennifer 💖
Wow, I don't remember seeing this before. You always come up with inspiring ideas. Thanks,Jennifer.
My sets just arrived so please please do more videos on these products. Many thanks!!!

I guess shine and luster are popular right now, huh? I don't have those waxes you mentioned so you can give it a try. And let us know!
@@jennifermcguireink Will do! But can you tell me what the metallic Rub-ons are made of? Are they wax based?
I have not seen them described as wax based. The descriptions of what they actually are aren't very specific in that way (that I've seen)
Hooray! I have these!

Jennifer, coild you get a simikar look with pigment powders or is it very different?
It is similar in the sense that they both give you a beautiful luster. But not exactly the same.

similiar, but i believe these are cheaper and the packs have lots of colors. if that is what you have, you can use them for this technique!!!
