  • In this seminar, Marie Clancy, Senior Lecturer in the Academy of Nursing (University of Exeter Medical School), and Felicity Thomas, Professor in Culture and Health Inequalities (University of Exeter Wellcome Centre for Cultures & Environments of Health), will report on the findings from their Transformative Research Award investigating how neonatal palliative care is experienced by parents from culturally diverse backgrounds, and exploring the challenges facing health and social care professionals in providing culturally sensitive care.
Based on their research and workshop discussions with multidisciplinary professionals working in neonatal palliative care, the researchers will present considerations for culturally sensitive neonatal palliative care.
Additionally, Michaela Halfhead (Clinical Educator North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network) will discuss her experiences of co-leading an educational programme in neonatal care for internationally trained nurses and the potential opportunities for cultural learning and exchange; and Rebekah Walsh (Bereavement Midwife) will discuss her experiences of leading training.
