I tried Artisans. Did not like them. After much experimentation, I am using Daniel Smith and Cobra water mixable oils. I found these to be much better than Artisans.
Good video with some nice tips!

This is the first time I have seen “tonking” as used by Henry Tonks, art teacher at the Slade actually used.
    Thank you.

      Is that a good thing?

Very much so. Reading about a technique is one thing, actually seeing it used and seeing it’s effectiveness is quite another. It’s hard to imagine how it would be effective just reading it but to see it makes it fully understandable. Thank you again.

I really appreciate the information about WMO - good lessons, both videos. Forgive my stupidity, but I don’t understand the blue splotches in the sky. Abstract trees? I wanted to reach in and add a hint of trunk rather than have disconnected bits floating. I am so appreciative of the paper towel blotting tip.,I’ve had nothing but trouble, making mud and getting frustrated. I’m a beginner - age 75, loving this journey. You are a great teacher!

Thank you for taking the time to comment. You Tube videos and practice are the best ways to get better at painting. Yes, those are impressionistic trees. I made them blue with some purple to set them back a bit in the composition.
      Have a great day.
