Speaking of boundaries, I might have an idea for an episode (or would at least like to hear your thoughts on it): The fine line between not expecting anything in return and still getting your needs met. I'm having a difficult time reconciling these two ideas - especially when it comes to close friendships as on one hand I don't want to be stifling (I don't like it when someone does that to me) and on the other if I never express what I need, want or have a problem with, it might never be addressed.
How do I express that without coming across as a control freak while still not expecting anything in return?

      Hi Vladimir,
After identifying the need, maybe it would help to list a continuum of ways to express it and then see if you can pick an intensity that feels reasonable. One way to try this is the DBT "Dime Game" which helps us come up with the right intensity for asking and saying no. I'm not sure if it's available in your country, but there is actually a free DBT Dime Game app, which can be a great tool to help determine the right intensity. This exercise should also be in the DBT workbook.

Very useful video , Thanx doc .
I think a more detailed video series about internal family system will help integrate most of the skills on the channel .

Thanks, doc. Good to hear from you again. I do really like IFS but feel like I am still learning and developing my understanding. Maybe at some point when I feel a little more confident I will do an IFS video too.
