Good video Jacob, the super splitter does have its limitations but still a great unit from what I’ve seen. In a class all by itself for kinetics in my opinion.
Nice day of work. Getting a backhaul is always a great idea. My kids started school today, I don't understand why some schools start before Labor Day... I never did, and if the schools try to do it here, I feel there would be a revolt
😂😂. Our schools are on this “year round schedule” 🤦♂️. Appreciate you Chris!! And for taking time to comment!! I hope your kids have a good school year!
Looking 👍. I see some people on the Facebook forums in the super split group that add heights to that wedge I’m beginning to think that might really solve some problems with these rounds that are just too tall
Looks like you are pretty good at knowing its strengths and weaknesses. I love mine but man if I haven't hung up a few pieces and had to get the saw out!
Yeah,, that really sucks having to cut or beat a round off. I’ve also been hit in the “tender spot” twice with a rogue piece flying off. It put me on the ground instantly!! 😂😂 Appreciate you Steve!! 👊🏻🇺🇸
I love my SuperSplit. I just made the same video coming out this Friday. I struggled with bunch of big and twisted oak. My box store hydraulic model is so slow I'll still take this splitter over it. Great video Jacob.
It’s a great splitter but everything has a trade off as you know. Sometimes I’d like to have a little more power over speed but when working straight grain wood,, the SS is a blast to run!! Thanks for your support Mr. Jerry!! I’ll be watching your upcoming video!! Thanks again!! 🤝🇺🇸🔥🪵
😂😂. Thats funny. I do think about a hyd splitter sometimes on certain wood so I can push the round through without stress or worry 😉. Many thanks Harold!! 👊🏻
Hey there Jacob! Good work that day buddy! The olde super split is definitely a splitter I’ll consider once my Woodyard is on the go! Thanks for having us over, it’s always a pleasure to drop by the channel to see what you’re up to 🔥💯👍🤜🤛. Take care and stay safe out there on the lines! Andrew from NB :)
That's great insight to the Super Splitter. Pros and cons to every splitter I think, so we run what fits our needs. Needs change, equipment can change. It's finally cooling off here, so I can cover up them leg😂. Excellent video Jacob. Take care.
I throw plenty of wood in the “ditch”. I hauled off 2 dump trailer loads of odd logs and pieces just today. I’ve found that most of the time, it just isn’t worth the time. Great having the fan blow on you, I do that when making bundles in the shed.
I totally agree! Some of the gnarly stuff just isn’t worth the time. The fan has been a big help lately, hopefully we’ll get some cooler weather soon!! Appreciate your comment and time watching!! 👊🏻🔥🪵
Thank you!! I can’t wait for those kinda temps. Still in the high 80’s here. It’ll feel like low 90’s today. But it’s better than what we’ve been having. Appreciate your time and comments!! 🤝
Hey Kenny!! I got nothing but love for the splitter, I’m just trying to show where it struggles. Hoping that it helps others with splitter decisions. Appreciate you as always my friend!! 🤝
Sone dandy looking splits of hickory Jacob! I think the super splitter holds its own on that ol tough hickory 👍🏻 Looks like you had a heck of a successful day to me
Appreciate it Brandon! It’s a great splitter, I’m just trying to answer some questions I’ve gotten about it. Hope that it helps. I always appreciate your comments man!! 👊🏻
Great video Jacob! I am thankful I saved and have a Wolfe Ridge 28C to do the heavy work. Like you I would get another Super Split if I had to. No worries, I enjoy all of your content.
I do love my SS but there’s a trade off with everything I guess. Yeah man, we loaded up on totes. One of em smelled like it had a dead body in it though! 😂😂 Thanks Genin!! 👊🏻
Hello my Huckleberry looking friend (straw hat and toothpick ensemble lol). I’ve got a hydraulic splitter you can come and get for those big/gnarly rounds. You need it more than I do, Jacob.
😂😂. I do miss the power of a hydraulic splitter. I may be shopping by for one to help with tough stuff someday. But I doubt I’ll ever sell the Super splitter 😉. Thanks as always Mr. Mark!! How are you feeling after the mild stroke you mentioned before?? I hope you are well!
Hey Jacob, thanks for the honest display of few areas the Super split struggles a bit. I have a different kinetic that I mostly just use for resplits now, but when mine would jam like yours around the 9:00 mark, rather than trying to pry the ram back - just whack the end of the piece you're splitting... Try it!
Glad you liked it!! I do sometimes hit the round to free it from being stuck, this time it was barely hung up so I pryed it out instead. Appreciate the suggestion and your time watching and commenting!! 🤝🔥🪵
Nice lookin firewood you have there, I’m driving to Oregon today to get my new J model. Nobody runs or has ever heard of a kinetic splitter around here so it’ll be fun to show off.
Safe travels & congrats!! You’ll love it!! It’s the same around here, nobody has ever seen or heard of a kinetic splitter. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!! Thanks for watching!! 👊🏻
I finally picked a super splitter up this past weekend, scored the top of the line SE model with all the options for half price. It still does the same for knotty wood if you get something twisted but very impressed over all. Have you ever had yours almost try to engaged on the return? Seems like every once it a while I hear the rack bounce off the pinion, maybe something is adjusted a little to tight…..
Wow!! That’s an awesome deal!! I don’t know that I’ve ever had that happen. First thing I would check is the 9/16 nylon nut for the handle. Sometimes if it’s too tight it’ll cause trouble. You could also call the folks @ SS. They’ve always been super helpful and call you back if you leave a message. Hope this helps. And thanks so much for watching and commenting!! 👊🏻🔥🪵
Great video Jacob! I know the pain of tough wood on a SS, if its too knotty or wont split I usually cut it up with my chainsaw and throw it in the free to a veteran in need pile! Hope you and your family had a great Labor day.
We had a good uneventful weekend. Just the way I like it 😉. Hope you did too! Yeah, it’s a real chore when a tough round gets stuck bad. 🤦♂️. That’s good of you, I do something similar (save undesirable stuff for ppl in need). Appreciate all the support and I look forward to the comments!!
You must be tough fella. I was being sarcastic in the beginning of the video but, it was plenty hot. We hit 99* here a few days ago and that’s not counting the index. The humidity round here is what makes it tough. Thanks for watching
Glad to hear it!! This video is different than others I’ve done on the SS. It really handles straight wood great and fun to operate. Thanks for watching!! 👊🏻🔥🪵
Great video. I have an hd model. I’ve never split pecan with it. But I did run elm though it. The large rounds were a work out. I had to use a second piece to push it off the wedge until it busted them in half by rolling them over and splitting the other side. Quite a work out for the super splitter. Not sure the box store splitters would do better unless it was a high tonnage one.
I’ve never split elm. I hear it’s real tuff. I will probably steer clear of it unless I get in a bind for wood. When wood gets that splintery it’s a work out on most any splitter I’d imagine. Thanks for the info & taking time to watch & comment!! 👊🏻🔥🪵
I agree it’s probably the fastest single wedge splitter out there. It flys through straight grain or easier splitting wood. You’re welcome to watch some of my other videos on it. I’m just pointing out where it struggles, as honestly as I can. Appreciate you watching though.
That super split sure shines with the nice wood! The struggle is real with knotty hickory😂 A back haul to boot can’t be beat👍👍
I always love getting a back haul when it works out! Many thanks Jeremiah!! 👊🏻🔥🪵
Good video Jacob, the super splitter does have its limitations but still a great unit from what I’ve seen. In a class all by itself for kinetics in my opinion.
Totally agree!! It’s a super productive little machine. Very handy for straight wood. Thanks for watching & commenting Heath! 👊🏻👊🏻

Nice haul on totes. Time to fill them up
That’s right!! Appreciate you! I watched you splitting some ugly stuff yesterday.
Looking 👍.

Would the HD or SE model make the wood split easier?
I would think so. They both have heavier flywheels. Definitely should take less hits.
Appreciate your comment!! 🤝

Thank yall!! Hope yall have a great day!
Thoroughly enjoyed the video! Indianapolis area.
Awesome! Glad to hear it!!
Hope you’ll be back!

Well the ole Super Split handled that Hickory just fine!! Great video Jacob👍🏻👍🏻… I was proud! That was a productive day Brother👊🏻
Appreciate you Todd! The SS likes straight grain wood but will get the job done for sure.
Thanks for commenting man!! 👊🏻🇺🇸🔥🪵
What kind of hookaroon is that ???
It’s a Ochsenkopf brand. Got it from Amazon. They’re expensive, it’s gone up in price a lot since I bought mine.

Hickory can be a pain even with a hydraulic splitter!! Never seen a picaroon like that!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Agreed. Yeah, it’s a double sided pickaroon. Very handy but also kinda dangerous!! Appreciate your support and comments!! Have a goodin!!
I had same trouble with river birch, but I figure every stroke on the super splitter is money in the bank. Cooler in Minnesota
Thanks for the video.

What do you do with the bladders from the IBC totes? Tim in Oneida
I give them away when people want them. Also I cut the tops out and store cutoffs or ugly wood for bonfires.
