This was super helpful! Not sure if this helps with a mnemonic for osteosarcoma but on the fly got to thinking about it as "osteoSUNcorma". Sun helps remind me of (1) sunburst pattern (2) sunBURST helps remind me of osteoBLASTomas (3) codmann triangle = like angles/reflections of sun-rays (a bit of a stretch I know) (4) sun is circular = cell cycle mutations like p53 and RB (another stretch)
My weird mnemonic for Osteosarcoma is: 1. COD = Call Of Duty (if you know the game lol). --> CODman triangle 2. Think of a gun called AK P53 -> P53 mutation (Li-Fraumeni Syndrome) 3. In Call Of Duty you have the guns of course and best place to shoot is the Knee lol --> KNEE most common place for osteosarcoma 4. Guns have a blasting sound and burst everything --> malignant osteoBLASTS & retinaBLASToma & sunBURST pattern Typically young males < 20 years play this game (it's a stereotype lol) --> peak incidence in young males < 20 years Hopefully it helps someone, good luck!
Here is a tip for ostosarcoma (sock) which stands for Sunburst appearance Ostoesarcoma Codman triangle Knee. It is a difficult one but it helps a little. Thank you for the great videos
Cd ROMS can be used as mnemonic Cd for Codman's triangle RB n TP53 mutations Osteoblastic uncontrolled activity Metaphysis involvement Sunburst periosteal reaction
Thanks so much. I was confused for years not knowing what is my case. Now that I know I have an oesteocondroma, and that it should be removed by surgery, is there a possibility the tumour may regrow itself again after the removal?

Thanks ! The o in sock may refer to osteoid matrix upon which ossifies to form the sun ray or burst spiculae. ( late prof J S Khurana )
