    Had the good fortune of picking up a 570 Husky from a buddy of mine. 28" bar and chains sharpened the Buckin' Billy way. Spent my 1st full day snacking on white oak. I like this Stand Up and Buck method!😉

    Hi, Buckin' it's Earl. I have a 572 xp, which you saw at Broud River Forge. I found the more you use it the easier it is on fuel.
    What I found was the secret with that saw is after starting it let it idle for about 2-3 minutes and then warm it up with some limbing, before bucking dig your tip into the wood put the saw under load dragging it down the log for 3-4 feet for 30 sec or longer you will hear the saw open up into like a power band. This is where you will have the optimal performance.

    So good to see the 572 evolve along with your liking for it. As a 572 owner myself, I was surprised when I watched your videos on the first Walkerised version a couple of years ago, but the second version redeemed itself. But now with the Ripsaw version, it’s another journey, so good! Great to see you enjoying the new incarnation of your beloved 372.
    Great videos as usual! Thanks Buckin’!

    Hey Buckin'. I love my vanilla 572XP. I'm running a light weight 28" bar, similar to yours, and it's an absolute dream to handle. I'm in the process of rebuilding my Echo CS2511T that I ran over with the tractor last fall. Every plastic part on the saw was damaged. I love that saw so much I just can't trash it. I replaced everything but the engine housing and installed a EganPowerSaws straight pipe on it. After retuning, I saw a huge power benefit. I also found a huge fuel leak so now I'm tearing down completely to change the engine housing, haha! I'll have a video on the complete teardown in case you ever get time to watch a video instead of editing a video. I miss talking to you, buddy, but it's great to see you fully functional. Stay kind, my friend!

    Sorry the pipe thing I just don’t get. They are just loud and obnoxious but to each their own. I also love the sound of the 5 series Husqvarna the way they come stock. Even my 592XP is a bit much because the muffler is wide open. The Bark Box for the Stihl’s is just annoying. On a side note it is great to see you getting after it though Buckin!

    Very cool stuff. Just curious if you put the saw through a relearn/recalibration cycle every time you change out your mufflers. If that saw is an Autotune it needs that.

    • @smallcoppercoins01
      @smallcoppercoins01 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3.0 doesn't need it (unless it obviously does), modern autotune adapts very quickly to running conditions.

    • @richevy5224
      @richevy5224 ปีที่แล้ว

      @smallcoppercoins01 It may adapt to minor atmospheric conditions fairly quickly, but taking stock muffler off and replacing it with an unrestrictive pipe type muffler it may need to go through a recalibration or relearn mode to fully appreciate the gain and run
      properly. Just like when you retune a traditional carb after modifying the muffler.

    • @smallcoppercoins01
      @smallcoppercoins01 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@richevy5224 no, 3.0 can handle port jobs and muffler mods without resetting. It is constantly re-calibrating both at idle and in the cut and usually doesn't take more than 3 cuts to adapt to muffler mods. It only needs properly reset when it's playing up.

    • @richevy5224

    Hey Buckin, I hope all is well in Canada. I bought a 572 xp about three years ago, and I love it to death. I am so excited that you are running the 572 for a bit. Could you tell me what it means to port an saw. You haven't really talked about porting giving you more horsepower. Does it just last longer?? Also, I have been wanting to get a 32" bar, I wasn't sure it could handle it. I am running a 24" right now. I have watched your channel for a very long time, but this is the first time I have commented. Have a good one.
    Jeremy for New Mexico.

    • @123789timothy
      @123789timothy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The term “porting” refers to modifying your saw in such a way that it is able to intake more air and fuel creating a more powerful burn in your combustion chamber. This is usually achieved by enlarging your exhaust and intake ports hence the name. There’s a fine balance that goes along with it. You need to match your ports or else you will run into situations where your saw may not be able to draw in through the intake as much as it can expel through the exhaust and vice versa. This can lead to overheating problems or even losses in power. You can also get ported saws that don’t have any work actually done to the physical ports. Common modifications done to lots of saws is simply replacing the stock head gasket with a thinner head gasket material. This increases compression and thus you get more power. Another common thing done is modifying your muffler by either enlarging the existing hole or even creating a new one in it. This helps the saw expel hot exhaust gases which will help the saw run cooler. The more open exhaust also helps draw(pull) more air and fuel into the combustion chamber. Highly modified saws will have all these things done. Thinner head gasket, more open ports, larger exhaust and in top of that some people machine down cylinder heads to further increase compression.
      Now I should mention that all these modifications come with risks. On top of the ones I’ve mentioned you can also have to much compression which can lead to detonation and the death of your engine. Higher compression is also harder on your pull start and just the internals of your saw in general. One of those your milage may vary moments

    • @jeremysmith6863
      @jeremysmith6863 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, thanks so much for all the info Timothy. So it does create a little more horsepower. I watch Buckin go through that wood like it's butter with the 32" bar. I'm sure I need to get some work done on mine before it could even come close. Thanks again.
