- A juvenile Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) swoops down to catch a fish near some swimming Canada Geese (Branta canadensis), but drops its meal when the startled Geese react. Montezuma, New York, 11/9/2013.
Aerial combat by the masters !!!! How awesome is this ? A real dogfight. The F-15 Eagle was chased off by a couple of long-distance cargo haulers !!!
Amazing footage! I live around a lot of Canada geese and can assure you they can be quite scary when they're in protective mode!
It was a junior eagle. A full grown male, no competition. They can carry one off.
Wow! Canadian geese (2 daredevils and 2 support staff) proactively attack an eagle. That was impressive.
Thinning out the Canadian population would probably be beneficial, but this was an impressive side to the goose I didn't realize existed.
:-) Canada Geese are wonderful, once you learn about them.
Canada Geese, if you don't know, are incredibly intelligent. My own father, after his retirement from GE in Salina, NY, was in my opinion an heir to Konrad Lorenz. He had an incredible relationship with his flock of Canada, Embden and Toulouse Geese. The Canadians he raised specifically would actually migrate for the winter and fly back to his 26 acres in the spring in upstate NY. They would greet him by approaching him while honking and tugging at his pant legs with their beak. I couldn't make this up.
No argument from me! I do not know if they are as good as American Crows at figuring things out, but if one watches them closely, at least some level of intelligence can become obvious.
Don't mess with the geese, George Wendt, the actor got into a melee with a flock of them, and they kicked his ass, he will never forget that day......
He's like, "Guys, chill... I just wanted a fish."
They're like, "Yeah... Ok..."
Consider eagle was farther away from the smaller ducks which would had made better meals.
First goose to second: "Talk to me Goose!"
It's 1812 all over again. 🔥🔥
Ever been tested by a goose? It’ll show you who you are, eh?
Jerky slow motion is so much better than clear footage at normal speed
Shut up, Moss
Lol
Speeding the video up to 2x works well. Shouldn’t be necessary though. Poor taste by whoever posted it
Dont mess with anything that has Canada in its name.
There is always one SIGMA GOOSE around.
Is it the Canadian Goose that has anger management issues.
Great bodycheck by Canada 🇨🇦!! 🏒
United States vs Canada. American Bald Eagle is having Canada Goose for dinner.
You must be one of those Proud Boys?
That was pretty awesome
Timothy Austfjord :-)
This only shows that animas cares for their families most than human
Canada goose; the honey badger of the skies.
The correct term used in Canada is Cobra Chicken
We had two pet geese, and they were super aggressive. They used to attack our dog, a mixed shepherd.
:-)
1. Not a bald eagle - it’s a young golden eagle
2. Not a battle with a goose - it was going for something floating in the water, and
3. Adult golden eagles are king of the sky and routinely kill and eat Canadian geese.
While you may be right regarding the target being a fish in the water, that was a juvenile Bald Eagle, not a Golden Eagle.
Ferris Akel
It has a black beak - like all golden eagles have. Not to be confused with a yellow beak like all bald eagles have.
@@jeremiahyeo5863 Immature bald eagles don't have yellow beaks buddy do some more research or actually learn what you are talking about.
@@bz6046
Listen little unlearned buddy, I sent you the link. You can go look it up yourself and finish educating your mind on the subject.
You completely disregarded my encouraging you to be specific. I spelled it out for you in case you are still a little dense.
Immature is a generalizing term. Ranging anything from an “eaglet” to a “subadult”. So if you want to paint a generalizing picture with a broad brush like this, I’m gonna point out where you’re wrong.
Now if you were to say - as a juvenile they don’t have a yellow beak - I would completely agree. They’re no longer a “juvenile” after the first year and they’re moved into the “subadult” category
As I already pointed out to you, around the three years mark is when the bald eagle starts showing a yellow beak. Your welcome.
Have fun learning from the avian report!
I was surprised the eagle would go for a goose. Now that I see its a juvenile that doesn't know better. Geese are tough
Sometimes they will buzz the flock to try and create a panic and get the geese to take off all at once. Then they pick off any geese that get injured from hitting each other.
awesome footage !!! thumbs up !!
I once saw a goose fight.
It was terrifying.
One of the geese was trying to leave3 seconds in. Fight lasted minutes.
Most brutal assault I’ve ever seen
No use with claws. On the other side. Those can pierce thick bovine leather glove.
It's basically a frame by frame now, isn't much of a slow motion, technically teaching us animators how to animate a bird lmao
Where is the battle????
Half a league , half a league, half a league onward into the valley of death Flew the bald eagle
" YOU PICK THE WRONG NEIGHBOUR, FOOL!!! " - Canada goose
Bald Eagle- I was just trying to get a fish! Canadian Geese- Oh, sorry, eh?
Not so much slow motion as fast slide show. Gave me a headache...
I agree with you 👍👍
Geese: There will be no fowl play today in our neighborhood. ☝️
Better parents then some human beings.
Гуска - потужний птах, дуже гарний та розумний!
:-D
Made me giggle.... not sure what made the eagle think THAT was a good idea.... ma & pa are a serious team
Extreme hunger.
@@aSpaghettiMan can make it drown
It's an immature bald eagle it's still learning to hunt and master the art of hunting.
Thanks for sharing. It shows that ya don’t “F” with my family. And we all would do the same!!!
Everybody gangsta
Till the geese starts to transform into a big a** robot
That eagles ballsy. Canadian geese are really aggressive, one wrong move the geese probably would’ve drown it.
Thank you playback speed 2.
Everyone has a plan until they get hit by a goose
dull beak, paddle webbed feet vs sharp tallons and deadly beak - CANADIAN GEESE rock!
:-D
Eagle came way too close to the nursery area and geese let him have it. Almost looked like he landed on water, close call for young Eagle.
Go to settings and increase playback speed otherwise it’s far too slow
Those two geese are the bomb.
The only animal that wants a piece of Canada gooses... are Canada Mooses!
I am so looking forward to the new superhero team up movie: Canadian Goose + Honey Badger!!!
How's the goose NOW???
Silky smooth 3 frames per second.
That gander will win everytime .
No I've seen Eagles get ducks and geese. This is an immature eagle and just learning how to hunt.
Amen Amen Amen, Thank you Lord
What a wonderful friend we have in The "ALMIGHTY
Ever consider your lord might have put the geese there for eagle food ?
Felt like I was having a stroke
strength in numbers. Canadian Geese are tough bitds. I saw a couple of yard birds (Canadian Geese that iive in US suburbs) attack an adult male for not doling out the corn fast enough.
Why did this need to be in slow motion?
Somebody needs to tell that eagle that killing geese is illegal.
Well that eagle is an idiot. A big lake with lots of ducks and he picks the spot with the crazy geese
How can a duck with a flat bill and webbed feet protect itself from an eagle ?
Canadian geese have some gonads, don't they ?!
Very good
Thank you!
Jesus Christ, the number of commenters who are screaming that it's not a bald eagle reeeeaallly need to do some more research. Says right in the description, JUVENILE bald eagle. They don't get their white feathers until they're a few years old. The number of commenters actually arguing about it is sad; a quick Google search will tell you all you need to know.
Tamara Sawchuk THANK YOU!! Very much appreciated!!
9 YEARS ago?.... Thanks TH-cam
Watch in 2x it's so much better
Goose said, Not on my watch, pal!
Hoping he'd take out some of those nasty geese.
geese are badass.
Geese are assholes
if she would of landed on the eagle's back, she could drown it. eagle don't have padded feets and waterproof feathers.... he took a freaking chance flying over the water.
EAGLES LAND IN WATER ALL THE TIME NO BIG DEAL.... LOL
@@craigbielsky115 No, they don't. That's silly. They eat lots of fish, and some have gone into the water, not intentionally. If they do go in and they're in the water for long, they're swimming for shore (if they can). Once their wings and other feathers are wet, they are unable to lift off with the added weight, wet feathers, and reduced room below them to flap their wings hard enough to gain lift. Ospreys go into the water after fish, but they're built for it with waterproof feathers. Eagles - not at all. They snatch their fish as they fly by over the water surface.
Would of?
❗ dim geese said we know that you the king of the sky and all but we ain't having it today ‼️
Big love for Canada geese 🥰
I hate them and I shoot them
the slow motion makes it look very choppy and blocky
Amazing wildlife videos 📹
Thank you, so much!
One of the geese tried to ambush the eagle at 1:27 . The trouble is their eyes are angled at 30 degrees away from the midline of the face, so they have a 340-degree field of vision and can pretty much observe other predators trying to sneak up from behind.
-Goose expert
Don't f*** with your Canadian geese!
Notice joe the geese attack from behind ... they attack the back side of the eagle.
Smart!
Bald eagles are not going through the best of times . Firstly, some YT videos put them against Golden Eagles, then someone shows a giant vulture taking off her a carcass, and now those infamous pesky Canadian geese interrumpt her hunting.
😉😬
Bald Eagle is no match for the Canadian Cobra Chicken.
Well I'm at FULL MAST!
lol
Thanks for not showing the normal speed. I sure didn’t want to see it….
I love geese. They have no fear
Geese are so badass
Poor eagle got dunked. All he wanted was a fish!
Why not pick on the ducks, smaller target.
New respect for geese.
Hello how are you doing?
The Canadian geese stood up to the bullying of a stronger and more ferocious American eagle.
What? the eagle was chasing fish. Just that he got too close by mistake.
Wow, you don't often think of geese with an attack mode.
interesting enough geese are highly agressive not much in canada that isnt afraid of a mother goose
Couldn't see the battle
why don't these geese try that to a Harpy and Philippine eagle(a very huge eagle)
I love Bald Eagles but I have to say I really wanted to see those Geese drown that eagle. Aloha
Your slow motion is too slow.
Ur right man 😅😅😅😅😅
Even at 2x speed
the eagle was picking up a fish you can see in video was not after geese just too close
good work
play at 2x speed for it to be watchable
I live lakefront, in the past couple of years we have several Bald Eagle nests around the lake, if they could keep the geese from pooping on my yard that would be great.
The eagle held ups its wings from entering the water....
After the slow-mo, it would have been helpful to see it at full-speed.
Geese are great until you try to use an area they have been in. One big litter box - indistinguishable from a cat’s business. An overpopulation exacerbates their danger to aircrafts, also. The bag limits need to be upped.
Limit?
aronph1 Bag limits refers to how many geese a hunter can harvest
I know. Do we need limits? We wont run out of geese here. They fly around here like giant mice.
@@aronph1 I live in Southwest Ohio more specifically Dayton to be exact am hour north of Cincinnati and am hour east of Columbus and the population of Canada Geese has exploded and gotten so much worse the last 3 years as they are a huge nuisance here and they are appearing in places here that they were never in before and it is out of control
@@Rvdecwthug I know. I'm in Columbus.
Che forza le oche Canadesi!!💪💪💪
really? this is the best u got?
Questioning whether there is a bald eagle in this video.
The Bald Eagle is a juvenile, which has not yet developed its adult coloration. The white head and tail feathers are usually achieved by the age of 5 or 6.
Once again another person who thinks they know everything and not look something up. I went to school for wildlife management this is an immature Bald Eagle. They don't get their white head and tail for years.
Canadians are polite but do not fool with us.
Both bird's lucky there
bravo geese!
Looks like a golden eagle, not A bald eagle.
It is a juvenile Bald Eagle that has not yet developed its adult white coloration of the head and tail feathers.
