    This my practice of making a copy of Action Figure head. I'm using OYUMARU for mold making, and then casting it with Epoxy Putty.
    Oh, and this my first video, so I apologize for the messed editing.

    That’s a really nice result with putty. Thank you for showing the technique of filling the molds just to the top. I will try that.

    Great tutorial, definitely want to give this a try. I've been doing something similar by using Sculpey as the mold, and squishing Apoxie Sculpt into it, but this is way better since the mold stays flexible.

      Thank you. I myself actually still on the learning process, but it's worth to try for trials and errors, as you can reuse oyumaru all over again.

    Nice job. Wouldn't it have been better to poke a few holes into the first big mold though? To make it easy to place next part on

    The putty is 2 ratio while the hardener is 3 ratio correct?

    Every time I try to cast a head the nose always comes out flat.
    I even make it pointed to fit inside the nose area and they still come out flat.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Great vid! I've been trying to cast some things in gold plastic, but I can't seem to colour the resins right. Is there a better way to do gold coloured plastic?

    • @hirokenjihobby
      @hirokenjihobby  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! Sorry, I haven't found any of the gold coloured epoxy putty at the market, only black, white or gray ones. Maybe you could try the liquid resin cast method, and search for the clear liquid resin with gold pigment. I have found some of it on sale when I googled it. Oh, and sorry for the late reply

    Hello! I found this video very useful, so thanks! Question, if you were to put the replica head sculpt on the figure, would you still be able to move it in direction? Or it can only be glued facing one direction onto the ball joint of the head? I'm asking because me and my brother will be making a custom mecha figure out of a Gundam figure im getting in the summer :) I wanna make sure I can still move the head around without just leaving it facing one way.

    • @drmortal9168
      @drmortal9168 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you cast the socket cavity right it should still move fine. If not it's easily fixed, try looking on figurerealm they have some good tutorials on this stuff.
