The Oriental Frill pigeon is a breed of fancy pigeon which was developed over many years of selective breeding. It is also known by some other names such as Hünkari; Classic Oriental Frill, Old Style or Old Fashioned Frill.
It is called Hünkari in its homeland. Meaning of the word ‘Hünkari‘ is the bird of Sultans. It is originally a Turkish pigeon breed which is specially bred for the Ottoman Sultans in the Manisa Palace, Turkey. In the city of Ottoman, the Sultan requested a different breed, and breeders started the process.
After years of selective breeding at Manisa Palace, they came up with an oriental frill pigeon.
These birds have a round head, a very small beak, a whitetail, and beautiful feathers.
One look at them, and you will understand why the Sultan requested these. They have large eyes, a frilly feathery chest, distinct feathers, and a small beak that looks as if there is none.
The Manisa is an old Ottoman city in the Western Turkey. The breed is actually divided into several color variations and markings. But the Blondinettes and Satinettes are the most common variety.
The Oriental Frill pigeon was developed from the Old Fashioned Oriental Frill pigeon. And the original form of this bird is still preserved as the Old Fashioned Oriental Frill.
The story of this beautiful pigeon breed reached England, and it arrived in the country in 1864. H.P. Caridia is known to have brought it from Izmir. Its name became Oriental Frill then. It made its first appearance in America in 1879 during an exhibition.
In Europe, they are classified in the owl family, while they are known as fancy pigeons in the US.

Can Oriental Frill as good flyer as Archangel? Can these 2 be race in short distance not over 3 Km away? I want to train one of them to battle with my friend's macaw.

Basically oriental frill pigeon is used for exhibition purpose but they can fly well. hope if you train them than they can be do well.
