I challenge you, I challenge you to react to the best band ever Tool. Tool is a progressive metal band with a huge fan following and the song I’d like to see you react to first is 46 & 2. It’s about evolution (think chromosomes) When you Listen to Tool their music takes you on a journey and you will not be the same afterwards. If you accept this challenge prepare to Spiral Out 🌀. Attached is a lyric video you can react to. With Tool you really feel and experience the music. th-cam.com/video/ogzRhlezx2s/w-d-xo.html&feature=share&EKLEiJECCKjOmKnC5IiRIQ
Would be worth checking out a live version of fight fire with fire if you're interested in hearing how much energy Metallica dish out in person.... after hearing the studio recording first of course... There's a live performance in Mexico 2008 that was at a stand out relatively recent show. Stick a neck brace on before hand 🤘😁
And that was your fourth in a row reaction that I watched without a break! I'm getting really involved Unlike many others I started to listen to these two first Metallica albums and that was Metallica for me even though all these other albums were out. I'm pretty sure in the early days they were quite simple and straightforward as in their lyrics and meant things literally, so even though a cryogenic state was mentioned , it was, unlike Megadeth's Hangar 18, just for the sake of a better sounding expression. Adding to the earlier poll, I did love Metallica better, I did prefer them to Megadeth, but with time I grew to value Megadeth higher. I sometimes re-listen them, and that's how I even got to know this channel; but Metallica is not very interesting to me lately, I never listen to them. Also, I love to play all those insane solos from the Megadeth vids you've observed (and many others), but I shook down a dozen or two of Metallica solos and never have the inclination to play them. Anyways, it was time Lilly Jane reacted to Dream Theater!
Well, now you're just missing one element from that album. Fight Fire 🔥 with 🔥 Fire. Which talks about war which was very relevant during the cold War and today as well.
I used to be an ice rescue trainer...when I was doing the train the trainer course (to get and maintain that certification) I used to blast this song on the way there!!!! I was a firefighter for many years and I am still an EMT...24 years in
This was my 'go to' song by Metallica back when I was a teenager... That was the way that I felt - I was trapped and desperate to get out of my miserable home. This gave me a voice to scream out loud for years 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Its a song about mental health basically. Its about someone who is having a panic attack, or someone feeling trapped in any way and doesnt know how to react or what to do so he feels like dying
I bloody loved seeing the expressions changing on your face so quickly at the start with all the thought going on... And the sheer pummelling this song dishes out right off the bat making it a little tricky... Great stuff as usual.
Disposable heroes tops this one in my opinion. They are great storytellers and convey emotion magnificently. Disposable heroes would be my hope for the next reaction.
"...and justice for all" Between that and "seek and destroy" are 2 personal favorites. I think you'll like the theme and changes of pace in "justice". Forewarning, it's a long song. But it's awesome.
Imagine when this came out everybody was trapped in a world of hair metal, Metallica came in and kicked everything in the nuts. You my dear are a Metallica fan. The early stuff was phenomenal.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: Disposable Heroes, Blackened, Dyer's Eve. Pretty sure "trapped under ice" was not a literal comment. I was pretty sure it's about being trapped in isolated misery & depression; crying out for help but no one can hear his cries for help. A lot of people could relate. So many great musicians and artists would still be with us, if someone listened.
Listening to this a quote of Kafka comes to my mind: 'A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us.' Also the vibe of this song is very kafkaesque.
Love this song and this is probably my favorite album by them. I see you posted this 8 months ago and I didn't know about your channel yet but I love your energy in this video. And it's awesome to hear that you said that you prefer the older metallica over the new! I'm with you on that 💯🤘
😂 they will all be your favs i used to have a wall of amps and speakers that would put Doc to shame and a huge water bed and i would crank this so loud it would shake the water in the bed and feel like a earth quake
Agreed! I keep suggesting that song, but she hasn't done a reaction to it yet. The emotional songs from the Load album hit really hard and a lot of people overlook them because they aren't Metallica's older style which is just ridiculous.
I’ve requested Bleeding Me several times…probably the best song of that album (Outlaw Torn is a close second) but nobody ever does it because it’s not “thrash”
One of a series of songs that James has done that deals with the Lovecraft Mythos (others being Thing that Should Not Be, All Nightmare Long and of course, the Call of Ktulu). But as is often the case these themes are great metaphors for other themes metallica often tackles (mental health, depression etc)
Love EVERYTHING up to and justice for all. From the black album up to the latest album ISNT the metallica I grew up with. Atleast the latest album is getting back to the metallica I remember
Ride the Lightning is just great. I would argue Master of Puppets is better, but it isn't by much. If you like this, Fight Fire with Fire will blow you away. Blistering speed and heavy. Other than that, I'm incredibly curious what your reaction to Escape is going to be.
It was a crazy time back when this came out. Brings back so many memories. These reactors focusing on cryogenics 😂 I had no idea it was about that. I just knew dude was cold
Disposable Heroes is definitely a good one to do next, along with Battery, The Thing That Should Not Be, and Justice for All, and Harvester of Sorrow. If you do Harvester, the Moscow 1991 performance of it is another good one to do, same as your previously reacted to Creeping Death.
i dont think most people finished this vid and its very evident. the lyric cryonic state is extremely specific to being put in a cryo chamber. so in the case of the name of the song VERY literal.
Not sure if you know that Kirk was in a group called Exodus before Metallica. Trapped Under Ice's fast guitar part was an Exodus riff first. The song is called Impaler. Exodus finally released their verson in 2004.
Lilly; this is an incredibly underrated song, and i recommended this along with ‘Ride the Lightning’ as a couple of the best lead guitar solos in the Metallica catalogue. I can’t describe how honoured I am that you’ve taken my advice, and I’m delighted you’ve enjoyed them. If I had to recommend anything next, it would be the studio version of ‘Disposable Heroes’. If you must do a live version, then please do the version from Canada in 1986. This is a song that is best sung and performed by a venomous, young Metallica. An angry, downpicking madman for a rhythm guitarist and singer, and a drummer who had the stamina to keep those double-kicks up at 220 bpm
Cool album Ride The Lightning (1985), my second favorite. This is a great hidden gem. I love some other hidden bangers like Fight Fire with Fire, Battery, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Leper Messiah, Damage Inc., The Frayed Ends of Sanity, The Shortest Straw, Dyers Eve, Hit the Lights, Whiplash, Metal Militia, (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth.
Lilly Jane, I know you like older Metallica more. However, Devils Dance from Reload is HEAVY. Don't listen to the hate people give Load and Reload. Yes, it's different than what you're listening to now, but it's still good music. Another awesome song is The Outlaw Torn from Load.
don't worry, whatever opinion you have on Metallica is yours to keep, some people just cant accept that, keep being the lovely energetic person you are❤
You’re on the right track with album. , There is one song on the album that not even Metallica likes to hear or even play. I still don’t think it’s a bad song. But yes, please continue to do the rest of the album. We think you’ll love the other songs as well.
I suggest a really badass song and maybe the darkest of Metallica: The Thing That Should Not Be, Master of Puppets track. And you, Lilly, should start listening to Slayer songs like Angel of Death and War Ensemble to go crazy with an extremely insane and deadly thrash metal band.
Can i humbly request a proper reaction from the start? Please do Kill 'em All. Then go album to album so you can hear their music evolve. Keep up the good work.
Coming up on Halloween maybe time to be introduced to Helloween (warning) long songs Halloween and Keeper Of The Seven Keys are both masterpieces and since you love crazy good guitar work they will fill that position 10 fold
I think the longest someone was trapped under ice and brought back was like a hour and a half 🤯 i just looked it up 80 minutes 1 hour 20 minutes i knew i wasn’t far off
If you really want to fell the music listen to Metallicas song Orion , it’s a instrumental but once you hear it you’ll understand how great it is with no lyrics
You're on point. Most all early/old school Metallica followers from the 80's would agree with you. The best was up to And Justice For All. From the Black album on, not as good. Metallica has two groups of fans really, pre Black album and post Black album.
This was probably the first Metallica song I ever heard, and they played it ON THE RADIO! But heavy metal radio stations in the late 1980s were not meant to last, and within a month it changed format.
I know how much you love a guitar solo so I would suggest merciful fate, a nice medley of songs. I don't think it would top this nor one, but i think you would really enjoy it.
Love all your Metallica reactions and glad you loved it, but this song probably doesn’t crack the top 15 Metallica songs for most fans of the old school stuff. Would love to see you react to Disposable Heroes, Creeping Death (it’s a story from the Old Testament), or the live version of Anesthesia. Keep the metal reactions coming!
You really need to do Disposable Heroes and Leper Messiah you definitely won't regret it. Ride the lightning is a badass album but Master of Puppets is a better album
Ride the Lightning is my personal favorite album. The others are fantastic but Ride, just more my speed! Have you done any Testament reactions? I suggest Electric Crown by Testament as a starter course!
Should check out the metallica song whiplash also love to see you react to Swollen Members where Mad Child came from before he did any solo albums start with the album balance and the song lady venom from way back in 1999
Lil FYI for everyone requesting creepin death, I already did a reaction for it. Here is the link : th-cam.com/video/IVmTwk2nsjQ/w-d-xo.html

Fight Fire 🔥 with 🔥 Fire.
Which talks about war which was very relevant during the cold War and today as well.
Another album you would like is
...And Justice for All
Start with Blackened which is a Winter Blizzard due to climate change.
I used to be an ice rescue trainer...when I was doing the train the trainer course (to get and maintain that certification) I used to blast this song on the way there!!!! I was a firefighter for many years and I am still an EMT...24 years in

This album is a Can of Whoopass from start to finish.
As a teenager I used to blast this and sing"trapped under Mike" right in front of my step dad Mike 😆
lol
James’s old vocal style was badass! 🤘🏻 Great reaction!👍🏻❤️
La distorsión natural de la voz de Hetfield es escalofriante yeah
Its a song about mental health basically. Its about someone who is having a panic attack, or someone feeling trapped in any way and doesnt know how to react or what to do so he feels like dying
Omg I love your hair !
This song doesn't get as much love as it deserves. It's a great tune.
The main riff was written by Kirk Hammett while he was in Exodus. They ended using it for the song Impaler
Impaler is a badass song on Tempo of the Damned.
Daaamn. Fight Fire with Fire next please!
Literally THE best Metallica song
@@brunoyanez5263 disposable heroes has some crazy emotions torwards the subject and is in the top songs ever made
Top 5 Metallica song for sure. along with this one. lol
Battery !!
This one is more thrashier
Really underrated track of theirs imo
"...and justice for all"
Between that and "seek and destroy" are 2 personal favorites.
Whole album is a 💯🔥🚒
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: Disposable Heroes, Blackened, Dyer's Eve.
Pretty sure "trapped under ice" was not a literal comment. I was pretty sure it's about being trapped in isolated misery & depression; crying out for help but no one can hear his cries for help.
A lot of people could relate.
So many great musicians and artists would still be with us, if someone listened.
Fight fire with fire... Disposable heroes... Dyers eve. Go now.
Very insightful reaction.
Listening to this a quote of Kafka comes to my mind: 'A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us.'
Also the vibe of this song is very kafkaesque.
Great reaction! I've always loved the lyric "eyes of glass stare directly at death."
I love when you say I cant ignore that!
BEST analogy of the song I have EVER heard, right on btw!
Love this song and this is probably my favorite album by them. I see you posted this 8 months ago and I didn't know about your channel yet but I love your energy in this video. And it's awesome to hear that you said that you prefer the older metallica over the new! I'm with you on that 💯🤘
Great reaction. Could be a literal sense or trapped by life and frozen in your own mind. Depression, anxiety etc. That's what made them great.
😂 they will all be your favs i used to have a wall of amps and speakers that would put Doc to shame and a huge water bed and i would crank this so loud it would shake the water in the bed and feel like a earth quake
It's literally about being trapped under ice, not cryogenics, that word was used to describe his tomb.
This song describes my life!
Escape I think it's the next song on the album. Awesome lyrics
Ever wonder if everyone is in their own little Truman show..? Like there is no such thing as coincidence..?
I feel that
the 4 horsemen and whiplash are both bangers, BTW keep up the great reactions
After almost forty years I can still remember almost all of the lyrics.
Amazing as always!
The Outlaw Torn by Metallica, the greatest Metallica song nobody ever talks about.
Agreed! I keep suggesting that song, but she hasn't done a reaction to it yet. The emotional songs from the Load album hit really hard and a lot of people overlook them because they aren't Metallica's older style which is just ridiculous.
I’ve requested Bleeding Me several times…probably the best song of that album (Outlaw Torn is a close second) but nobody ever does it because it’s not “thrash”
incredible tune
This particular album is where my Metal addiction started for me when I was a kid in the mid 80's
One of a series of songs that James has done that deals with the Lovecraft Mythos (others being Thing that Should Not Be, All Nightmare Long and of course, the Call of Ktulu). DISPOSABLE HEROES!!!
My Lilly ❤i love you reacción ❇️ i love /METALLICA\ THE BEST
This is my top 4 Metallica song an that goes back then..
I know this is going to be a great reaction I haven't heard of this song in 20 years I forgot how heavy it is
Well you said you like the early thrashy Metallica best! I agree!!
PLEASE listen to The Four Horsemen(Kill 'em ALL), such a great song
AMAZING VIDEO! "RIDE THE LIGHTNING"... THE ALBUM STARTED EVERYTHING!!! A MASTERPIECE ALBUM!!!
Ride the Lightning is just great. I would argue Master of Puppets is better, but it isn't by much. If you like this, Fight Fire with Fire will blow you away. Blistering speed and heavy. Other than that, I'm incredibly curious what your reaction to Escape is going to be.
And justice for all is their best album
@@eazye519 nope
I love RTL but I really think Fire with Fire is not their best effort, even James’ vocals sound bad imo
@@JoaoPedro-hq7bs don't be stupid
I think now it's the time to watch them live from 2021 and 2022 they are amazing
It was a crazy time back when this came out. Brings back so many memories. These reactors focusing on cryogenics 😂 I had no idea it was about that. I just knew dude was cold
you should do lepper messiah
Great job with your reaction to Trapped Under Ice From Metallica.
Fight Fire with Fire, Disposable Heros, Blackened, Garage Days Revisited is also a hidden gem album with some great tracks
You RULE!!!
~ Fight Fire with Fire!!!!
I know you’re not big on Live videos but these others are a must LIVE!
~ Creeping Death
~ Battery
~ Blackened
Old school metallica >>
Disposable Heroes is definitely a good one to do next, along with Battery, The Thing That Should Not Be, and Justice for All, and Harvester of Sorrow. If you do Harvester, the Moscow 1991 performance of it is another good one to do, same as your previously reacted to Creeping Death.

I believe that Fight Fire With Fire has the greatest intro out of all of the other songs on this album. It is also really fun to play on guitar
In my opinion for whom the bell tolls has the best
In my opinion for whom the bell tolls has the best
Different album, but as others have mentioned… Disposable Heroes is epic Metallica. Must listen next. Thx again Lilly for the fun.
You need to listen to the Four Horsemen from them. it's on a previous album (Kill Em All) but it's one of their best, imo
This song gets overlooked a lot, but it's one of my all time fave Metallica songs. Full metal shredfest!
this is what i grew up on

Pantera "Domination" live in Moscow!
And to think they were 20 - 22 when this album came out
Crionics by Slayer rulez, too! Chef's Kiss! You kick major!!!
Why did people get mad about that? 😅 It's common opinion that their first 3/4 albums are the best
