Acoustic Cover of Graceless by The National

I really like this song by The National and hope this version stays true to the spirit of it. The lyrics point toward the subject of cocaine use. The first line "... is there a powder to erase this" is the tip off. Later the lyric is "Gone through the glass again..." indicates to me an awareness that cocaine use will not save anyone from their despair, or sense of gracelessness - in fact only heightens it in the long run - but there is a powerlessness to stop it's allure. My religious upbringing taught that we fall in and out of a state of grace throughout life - believing that or not - to me this song highlights the futility of seeking cocaine as a remedy.
